Buster is a very much loved and well-known character at Marion Lauder house to all residents and families. He is part of our family here. You may see Buster moving around the home, greeting families at reception or lying in the lounge with residents.
Pet therapy in care homes can increase social interaction, not just with the animals but also between other residents. It gives residents something to look forward to, comment on and discuss together in a way that often helps to break down barriers.
Interacting with pet animals can unlock hidden memories of cats, dogs and other creatures that may have been part of the lives of elderly residents in the past. Even when these former encounters can’t be put into words, their joy can often be seen in participants’ faces.
I have worked in care for an incredible 39 years, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Caring for others has always been at the heart of what I do, and it continues to be a role that brings me pride and purpose every single day.
I have been part of the Careconcepts care home family for 11½ years, and during that time I have seen the home grow into a warm, welcoming place where residents and staff feel valued and supported.
What I love most about being a Care Home Manager is the daily interaction with our residents and team. Spending time with people, listening, supporting, and ensuring we deliver high-quality care in a truly homely environment is what makes each day rewarding.
One of the achievements I am most proud of is becoming a Care Home Manager at just 27 years old, a milestone that reflects my long-standing commitment to care and professional development.
What excites me most about managing Tall Oaks is getting to know our residents, relatives, and team, and building strong, trusted relationships that help everyone feel safe, happy, and at home.
Hi I am Julie
I have worked in care since 1991, and I love working in the care sector because it is rewarding and is never the same every day. I receive job satisfaction, as I am able to make a positive impact on people’s lives and always seek to drive continuous improvement in any area of care that I have worked in.
Hi, my name is Gary, and I am the Regional Maintenance Manager at Careconcepts LTD. The chance to have contact with the residents and the interaction is so great. When working at Careconcepts, no day is the same.
It is also good to have residents ask me to deal with an issue within their room and have a little chat with them at the same time. I am enjoying working as part of such a diverse team and ensuring the presentation and safety of the home is paramount in my day-to-day responsibilities.
