When I want anything for myself I only ask the manager and she will then either go to the shop with me or we go online in the office together. She also gets me my TV magazine, which is very helpful when I am in my own room every evening. She got me a phone for personal calls. She even got me a football shirt for my dad's funeral which was a shock to me. She goes out of her way for all of these things and she has a massive list of other things to do. I don't know where she gets the time and energy from, but I couldn't want or ask for anything any better than the way she runs things.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review.

The manager always does her very best to deliver high-quality person-centred care. Feedback is extremely valuable and reassures us that the team are doing a fantastic job.

I put my dad in this care home in May 2022 and gave his flat up. Today the manager gave him 28 days' notice to leave because he got hold of a lighter in there and set something alight from smoking in his room. I'm sure it is their job to make sure he doesn't get a lighter. I'm now left worrying about where he will go next.

There's never been a proper chef, the manager does the cooking, she rings me to take him meals and snacks over.

My mum was as comfortable and looked after as she could be given her circumstances. The staff are proper carers (they do care)! Throughout her time here she has been treated very well in all aspects. The home is kept clean, tidy and 'homely' rather than having a clinical feel. If you want a home to care for you/a loved one then this is it!

I haven't rated activities as Mum was happy on her own, reading, puzzles, TV etc. so didn't want to join activities.

The home is clean, bright and airy. The staff are friendly and efficient and the residents are mostly okay.
Sometimes the rooms are too hot or too cold - the central heating isn't perfect but extra heat may suit older residents.

Activities are a bit lacking but this is understandable as staff are usually busy providing care.

Very friendly, pleasant environment. Happy service users, nothing is too much for anyone to ask for. Staff are always willing to help, the manager goes above and beyond her duties to ensure service users have everything they ask for and she does all the personal shopping for those that ask.

Not only has my great-grandma been a resident at Cherryfield House Care Home but so has my grandma to which she only spent a few months but in the short time she was there her care was outstanding, her needs were met to the highest of expectations. She had a short stay in hospital but behind the scenes, the manager worked hard to secure her funding and equipment required for her stay due to there being no social worker involved. We were always greeted by staff in a lovely manner and they could never do enough for us and our gran.
Thanks to the whole team at Cherryfield.

Amazing gang!

Although Mum only spent a few days in Cherryfield House Care Home, she was treated like a queen and I would go as far as to say they saved her life. I moved her to Cherryfield from another home following serious safeguarding concerns. On arrival, Mum was very poorly, riddled with thrush and had an unreported grade four pressure sore. Cherryfield very quickly registered with the doctor who came out and admitted her to hospital where she was found to have pneumonia and sepsis. Thankfully she has now recovered. All the staff I met were really lovely, down to earth and kind and gave me time to ask lots of questions. It really is like a home from home and the manager and her team really truly care.

I went to visit Cherryfield House Care Home, I found the manager and staff all happy and smiling, this showed me and made me feel this was a happy place to be. I found all staff to be very helpful and nothing was too much, all the service users all look content and very cared for, the manager clearly knew the needs of all her residents, they all knew her and spoke very highly of her and her staff. At one point a gentleman who is living in the home reassured me that this is the place to be, he spoke very highly of the manager, this made me feel at ease. This was a very difficult time to place our mum in a care home, the gentleman I spoke to went on to say the staff and manager go above and beyond plus I've seen for myself after placing my mother there it was the right home. I found the home was very homely, my mum's needs were very complex, the home had other professionals involved, the care home hasn’t got red carpet but that’s not important it’s the care and that’s Cherryfield, clean and fresh.

The staff at Cherryfield are amazing, very friendly, polite, helpful and always go the extra mile to support my mum's needs. The manager is such a lovely person I've never known one like her! She goes out of her way for her residents and treats the home like her home. She’s very kind, thoughtful, helpful and I feel very relaxed my mum is being cared for by these lovely outgoing people.

I feel very happy that my father is at Cherryfields, prior to him living there he was depressed and lonely and our relationship was a stressed one. Now he is happy, we have our father and daughter relationship. My father is very well looked after and said he feels safe and is worry free. The staff are very caring and treat the residents with respect. The manager is amazing and some of the staff excel in their jobs and go the extra mile. A big thank you to the staff and manager for the care and friendship he now has in his later years.

After two very bad experiences my mum moved to Cherryfield house in August 2015. The minute she walked in she was a different person - more the mum we had always known. She couldn't even talk when she arrived but now they can't shut her up! Cherryfield is a lovely warm homely place and all the staff are genuinely happy at their work. We though we have lost our mum but they have given us back the mum we know and love. We can't thank them enough.
