Brilliant nursing home. My father-in-law was in there and we couldn't have asked for better people to look after him - clean, friendly, welcoming, the list is endless, unfortunately, he has now died but we would recommend this home to anyone.

My Mum has been a resident of The Lakes, Dementia unit now for over 12 months. Mum has thrived whilst residing in The Lakes.
The unit is safe, secure, very clean and the staff are excellent carers.
There is a lot of interaction with the residents, for example, trips out to children's day nurseries,
barge trips to name a few. Craft activities take place on a regular basis and residents are encouraged and assisted in taking part.
Mums room is en suite, spacious, warm and kept very clean. The laundry service is excellent.

After being in this care home for several weeks my 98 year old mother has improved greatly from when she was admitted. She is happy with the home and the care she receives, she has been taken out on several occasions to places she has really enjoyed and looks forward to many more outings. Although she
is unable to walk she is being encouraged by staff to regain some independence in this respect. Overall my sister and I are very satisfied with the care and attention she receives from all staff and she is settled and quite content. We consider the room she is in to be quite adequate for her needs and kept clean at all times. The staff are caring and attentive and she has only good words for each and every one of them. To conclude I can only say that if I am ever in need of such accommodation I would like it to be in this or a similar establishment. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Colin Gallimore

Job Title: Nominated Individual and Director of Operations

Joining The Lakes Care Centre in September 2023 as the Nominated Individual and Director of Operations, Colin brings extensive experience in health and social care since 1985. Beginning as a support worker in a residential home for young people with behavioral difficulties, Colin progressed to management and later qualified as a Social Worker (CQSW – Salford University), supporting older adults through local authority assessments.


Since 1997, Colin has managed private care services, including domiciliary care, elderly support, and residential and in-home care for children with complex health needs. At The Lakes Care Centre, Colin oversees service development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, working closely with the Home Manager and board members to implement effective improvements.
