I am totally appreciative of the staff at St George's, who was always kind and supportive during the passing of my father.
Thank you for your positive review. We will pass the message to our staff.
During the weeks and days before my fathers passing, the care home was fantastic. Not only the care given to pops but also the help and assistance given to myself and my sister. These were difficult times for us, but they also had to deal with Covid regulations. They were really professional as well as empathic, to which we are truly grateful.
If we could be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
If another resident was similar to myself, I am quite sure they would accept things as I did when being at St George's Nursing Home (Wigan).
Thank you for your honest review. We have taken on board what you have said. Appreciate some refurbishment may be required in some of the rooms for cosmetic reasons, but unfortunately, due to the pandemic and risk of having outside workers in the home, they have been on hold. We hope to address...
I am very content with my mums care.
Thank you for your lovely review, and I will be sure to pass it on to the staff. We are very fortunate to have dedicated, caring staff working at St George's, especially through this pandemic that has in a way become the residents extended family. If there are any further suggestions or anything...
Each time I have been to St George's over the last 12-months, during Covid-19, I have experienced a very friendly attitude by the staff, who are working under stressful times. I think I can speak for my three other brothers. Unfortunately, because of the virus, we have not been able to go into the some to see Mum's accommodation.
Thank you for putting a review. As you are aware, we have started reception visits and keeping a close eye on testing and very much looking forward to starting the nominated person visits next week. I am aware we are slightly behind the national guidelines for visitation due to the outbreak we had...
Mum was transferred to St George's from the infirmary for end of life care. She was only in care for five days before passing, but she was extremely settled and comfortable throughout her stay. The staff were very professional, loving and caring to both Mum and the family members that visited. I couldn't have asked for a more loving environment for Mum to end her days. Thank you to all who looked after Mum.
Thank you for your lovely message, Susan. Will definitely pass your message to all the staff on that unit. I am glad St George's had the opportunity to care for your mum during her last few days.
Initially, not sure as had heard bad things about St George's, but happy to say they were totally incorrect. 100% excellent place. Mother died pain-free; she died peacefully in her own time. Excellent staff and nursing home.
Thank you, Robert. I am glad we got the opportunity to look after your mum. Thanks for the positive review; I will pass thanks to all the staff.
My father was only in the home for four days, he went there for end of life care. The staff treated my father with the utmost respect and ensured his stay was dignified. When he died, they were with him and again treated his death with the utmost respect and dignity. The help they have given us as a family is second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending St George’s.
Thank you, David, for your very positive review and will pass it on to all the staff involved. Glad St George's could be part of looking after your dad and be able to support you and the family. If there is anything more we can do, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
My mum was taken to St George's following a visit to the hospital. Every member of staff was kind, considerate and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this home. Special mention to the manager and six other members of staff.
Thank you for your lovely review. I will pass the kind words to the manager and the rest of the team. If there is anything further we can assist with please do not hesitate to contact us.
All staff at all levels make the residents safe, comfortable and healthy. They make every effort to be a friend to all they care for. I feel content that my wife is enjoying her life as much as possible.
Thank you for your kind words. It is an overwhelming time in care homes with limited or no visitations and we hope things change soon. We have a good team and try our best to make the resident and their loved ones always welcome.
When we arrived at St George's, we were made to feel welcome. Mum was quite poorly and was treated with the utmost respect and tender care. I cannot thank them enough. Not only did they look after my mum's needs, they looked after the family as well. I would like to give a special mention to the manager and four other members of staff, you are all very special people.
Thank you, Dianne, for your lovely review. I will definitely pass your compliments to all the staff on the Ground floor and the manager. Happy we could make the transition as smooth as possible for your mum and the whole family as we understand it is not an easy time.
Mum came to the home for end of life care. Staff and manager were fantastic. Treated Mum with love, care and respect. Would recommend to anyone.
Thank you for your kind words. I will pass your compliment to all the staff members. If you ever need any further support do not hesitate to get in touch with myself or the Manager.
My father has been accommodated at St George's carr home since mid-November. Sadly, due to his health condition, he is now in palliative care. This is a most anxious time for the family, as we see our loved one slipping away. The care, consideration and kindness shown by the care home manager and her nursing and care worker staff, has been outstanding and very much appreciated. My father is treated with bolt dignity and respected, which has assisted him greatly to settle into his surroundings. The home also pays active attention to infection and cleanliness.
Thank you for your kind words and the message is very appreciated by all of us at St George’s. Please feel free to contact myself or the manager at any time if we can assist you further.
My husband was a resident at St Georges from November 2017 until January 2019 when he sadly passed away. Throughout his time there he was well looked after by the staff, which is greatly appreciated by all the family. We were always made to feel very welcome and comfortable. There were lots of parties and entertainment organised, which was lovely to be able to share these precious times together whilst we were able. The food was always very good. Thanks to all at St George's.
Mum is always in clean clothes that match, the home is very clean and her room is always spotless, the laundry is also very well done, the food is excellent.
The home has a dedicated lady whose role is to organise entertainment/activities for residents, she also arranges many events that relatives can attend, she does it very well and helped very much with Mum's 100th Birthday celebrations.
St Georges gave a wonderful buffet lunch party for Mum's 100th Birthday and 50 relatives/friends attended, the staff worked exceptionally hard to make this happen. The kitchen staff prepared a lovely buffet in addition to their normal work of cooking for all the residents. We very much appreciated everything that was done by the manager and his staff to make the party such a great success.
From dad moving in, to him passing away, he was always treated with dignity and respect. Even dad said to us the staff are fantastic.
Dad was always in clean clothes and he was looked upon as family by staff.
I have visited the home few times with my friend, her mother lives in this home and I have known her for a long time, every time I visited the home my friends mum looks so happy and active (even though she have difficulties due to dementia). Today I saw an advertisement in the care home's Facebook page relating the review. I thought I have to leave this review from my short experience to encourage the staff to continue the good work.
My elderly relative was treated with care and dedication. Nothing was too much trouble. Although only there for 7 months to her death recently, the staff and management took her to their hearts. It's daunting and scary trying to find a good place for a loved one but we made such a good choice. I can't praise these lovely people enough and it's time their skill was rewarded by a decent wage. Bless them all.
I love the place, staff are really good and a good manager and atmosphere. The manager is very friendly and approachable. I can see my friend is happy whenever I visit. The home offered food every time I visit.
The way they treated her with care and dignity was as much as anyone could ask for and you could see it was genuine.
