Warm, welcoming and understanding staff, perfect care home for our mother who had issues at previous care homes. Everyone is extremely helpful and polite.

Rooms are large with adequate space for storage. Great home.

The standard of care provided by the staff at this nursing home is excellent. What stands out most is the amount of genuine one-to-one care and attention residents receive. The staff are consistently kind, patient, compassionate and attentive, taking the time to understand each resident as an individual rather than simply focusing on their day-to-day care needs.

There is a warm and reassuring atmosphere, and residents are treated with dignity, respect and genuine affection. Staff are approachable and responsive, and nothing ever seems too much trouble. It is particularly reassuring to see how much personal interaction residents receive, with staff taking time to talk, listen and provide companionship as well as practical support. This individual approach makes a tremendous difference and gives real confidence that residents are safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for. The dedication of the staff is clear, and the quality of the one-to-one care is exceptional!

My mother has been a resident at Abbendon for just over three years. She has dementia and two previous homes were unable to look after her. In contrast, Abbendon has been excellent and, as fas as it's possible to tell, she has been very happy there. She has been well looked after throughout by staff who do a wonderful job.

The staff at the Abbendon are very kind and the atmosphere in the home is relaxed and comforting. Susan, my sister, is always looking very clean and has care over the clothes she wears and her hair are always looking fresh. She has a regular visit from a local chiropodist who keeps her feet and toenails looking cared for. The residents have plenty of activities to keep them stimulated, we feel (my husband Ian) and the rest of the family feel she is being very well looked after.

My dad is being treated with respect and care. The staff at Abbendon are gentle and experienced. I feel very comfortable that he is here and that this feels like a positive environment. The staff work very hard and the residents are treated with kindness.

At Abbendon Nursing Home , I know my mum will always be cared for with genuine interest and respect. She is given space to retain her own personal preferences and style. Staff encourage her to choose her own outfits and support her in applying make up and styling her hair, allowing her and her family to enjoy her individuality and personality as much as possible. There is good continuity of care so we all know the staff and have good relationships with them. I have complete faith in them all.

Moving a loved one into a nursing home is never an easy decision, but the staff have made such a difference to how we feel about mum being there. They are kind, caring and treat her with dignity, patience and warmth. It's clear they genuinely care about the residents and want them to feel comfortable and supported. The nursing staff and the matron are always approachable and happy to answer any questions. They keep me informed if there are any concerns or changes with mum's health, which is very reassuring and gives me real peace of mind. Mum seems to have settled well, and I truly believe that's because of the kindness and understanding she receives from the staff every day. Knowing she is being looked after by such a caring team means a lot to me and my family.

I would also like to mention Emma in administration, who is always lovely to deal with. The invoices are clear and she often includes a kind message asking how I am, which adds a very personal and thoughtful touch.

We would definitely recommend Abbendon for the anyone thinking of a secure and happy environment for a relative or loved one.

My dad has lived at Abbendon Nursing Home for almost 2 years. During this time he has had incredible care and is shown dignity by all the staff. They understand his illness and cater for all his needs. Their care and dedication to their residents is admirable and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and support for all our family. They allow us as a family to spend quality time with him and we are made welcome whatever time of day we visit.

I visit my mother 3 or 4 times a week so I see most of the day staff. I have nothing but praise for the staff who support my mum. She always looks clean and tidy and although she can't verbally communicate with her carers, it is very obvious by her facial expressions that she has a good relationship with them. I know how difficult and demanding it can be supporting a person with dementia but the staff remain smiling at all times. A brilliant group of nursing staff, carers and domestic staff. Thank you for all you do for my mum.

My husband spent 12 months at Abbendon Nursing Home before he passed away in July 2024. The staff are amazing and at all times he was treated with kindness, dignity and respect. When he was put on end-of-life care the treatment he received and the kindness he was shown was outstanding. Abbendon Nursing Home is an excellent nursing home. The staff are very attentive to both residents and visitors. I am pleased with the care and kindness my mother receives. I am confident my mother is well cared for at all times. The management is very supportive and always available to assist with any matters.

Staff have always been very friendly and helpful when I visit my wife. The home is very clean and tidy and her room is adequate. The grounds are tidy and it's a pleasure to take the resident into the garden when the weather is pleasant in the summer.

My husband was admitted six months ago from the hospital to Abbendon Nursing Home. I couldn't be more pleased with the care and kindness he receives. He is nursed in bed, and the manager has provided all that he needs to be comfortable. All the staff are friendly and kind. My husband was well cared for, and the home is clean and tidy with no unpleasant odours. Visitors are always made to feel welcome.

My dad recently passed away at Abbendon care home, he was cared for over a number of years and I always felt he was in safe hands after a previous bad experience at another care home, the staff are hard-working, caring, polite and very patient with everyone, even throughout the difficult covid period, they had everyone's safety uppermost, and helped us with PPE and forms etc so that we could visit my dad. I would like to thank all the staff we met and who cared for dad, it's not an easy job and both myself and mum appreciated it greatly. I would recommend this care home and send best wishes for Christmas to the staff over the holiday period. Many thanks.

My uncle had a short stay at Abbendon House after being discharged from hospital and was treated very well by a very caring team. Some of the best care he has received since entering the care system over 12 months ago. Staff spend a lot of time with residents, are very patient and caring, and quick to react to residents' demands.
