Mum has been in Bankfield for 18 months now and we have no complaints. Since being in care, although diagnosed with dementia her physical health has considerably improved due to the level of care received. The events & entertainment along with the seaonal fayres throughout the year are evident a lot
of thought & effort is put in. The food always smells good, mum is certainly eating well and after joining her & the other residents for christmas dinner, we can only say compliments to the chefs. The staff are very friendly, approachable & appear happy. The senior staff team always have time & are extremely friendly & helpful, answer all queries, make you feel reassured & keep us updated on all aspects of mums care. The owner/management team are always willing to listen to your opinions & action any suggestions you may have. All in all, we can say that Bankfield care home 'really does care' & cannot praise all staff enough & feel that we have made many new friends.

Mum was discharged from hospital earlier this year. We did not want her to return to the care home she had been in for about 10 months prior to the hospital. We didn't pick Grace Court and were a little worried because of our previous experience of a care home. We arranged a visit before mum's admittance.
We were made to feel so welcome, mum's room was beautiful and had been finished with all her personal things, bedding, pictures etc. On weekly visits, mum is always up, dressed and in the day room watching TV, something that wasn't the case previous home! I can't thank the staff enough for looking after mum and giving the family peace of mind that she is safe there and cared for as she deserves, she is 94 years old. Thank you to all the staff.

My dad has been at Bankfield for over a year, I am very happy with the care he receives, any concerns that I have spoke to management about have been dealt with. The home is clean and smell free, residents are encouraged to join in activities, relatives are invited to events which are put on regularly.
The staff do a great job are always friendly.

My mother in law has been a resident at Bankfield Care Home for 6 weeks .She moved in as she was constantly falling at home and was diagnosed with mixed dementia .Having looked after her ourselves for the last 2 years the time was right for her to move in.
It has been a truly remarkable experience
as she is a very private non mixing person.
She has settled in so well and is happy to sit in the lounge every day.The staff are very welcoming and she is clean tidy and safe.Thank you all

My dad has lived at Abbendon Nursing Home for almost 2 years. During this time he has had incredible care and is shown dignity by all the staff. They understand his illness and cater for all his needs. Their care and dedication to their residents is admirable and I cannot thank them enough for their
kindness and support for all our family. They allow us as a family to spend quality time with him and we are made welcome whatever time of day we visit.

I visit my mother 3 or 4 times a week so I see most of the day staff. I have nothing but praise for the staff who support my mum. She always looks clean and tidy and although she can't verbally communicate with her carers, it is very obvious by her facial expressions that she has a good relationship
with them. I know how difficult and demanding it can be supporting a person with dementia but the staff remain smiling at all times. A brilliant group of nursing staff, carers and domestic staff. Thank you for all you do for my mum.

My husband spent 12 months at Abbendon Nursing Home before he passed away in July 2024. The staff are amazing and at all times he was treated with kindness, dignity and respect. When he was put on end-of-life care the treatment he received and the kindness he was shown was outstanding. Myself and my
two daughters are very grateful for the kindness and support given to us by the staff at such a sad and difficult time. I would definitely recommend Abbendon Nursing Home.

My dad went to Bankfield in early June 2024 and stayed until his death in mid-September 2024. I cannot answer if it was good value for money as all care homes are astronomically priced. That said the important thing is not money but the care he received and the character of the people providing the
care and I am happy to say that my dad was treated very well and the staff are very friendly, caring and professional. I cannot thank them enough for the short time my father was with them.

My mum transferred to Bankfield Residential Home from hospital and the care the staff have provided to my mum over the last few weeks has been excellent.
They have provided encouragement and support to improve her appetite and also her mobility is getting better and we can see her progress each time

Overall we as a family are happy with her placement and all the staff are excellent. Most importantly mum is really happy there.

I visited the care home this weekend to say a final goodbye to everyone after my father-in-law passed away recently.
I was utterly disappointed to see that the new furniture has not yet arrived after it was ordered (apparently) almost 1 year ago!
The residents are sitting on old furniture - some without
the correct cushions on, thus making the seats even lower and obviously more difficult to get up from. The dining table chairs don't have sides on and some of them are a little wobbly (I would often spot a chair where the frame was loose so I would turn it over and temporarily fix it). It's such a shame because the care is so good here, it upsets me to see this.
My father-in-law paid out a very large sum of money every week to pay for his care and I think it's so unfair that he didn't have a comfortable armchair to sit on for the remainder of his life. (He resided there for 21 months). Where is the new furniture?

My mother was admitted to Bankfield eight weeks ago, and from my first visit to now the care that has been shown to my mother has been incredible. Staff are very approachable and all questions (and I ask some daft ones, no doubt) are answered quickly and I feel immediately put at ease.

My mother spent a couple of months at Bankfield Residential Home following a stay in hospital. She was well cared for with the staff friendly and professional. Rooms are a tad dated but are equipped for needs. Well organised, medications given on time and professionally dispensed. Meal times and standard
of food good, with mum saying she really enjoyed the choice with the catering team assisting with dietary requirements. Mum was entertained by staff and some residents! Areas clean, garden area small but well tended, communal areas plenty and smaller areas available for family visiting. 24-hour access by means of intercom. My experience was positive, my mum's more so. Staff are good, always busy but my mum received a good level of care which is the main thing.
