Mum was discharged from hospital earlier this year. We did not want her to return to the care home she had been in for about 10 months prior to the hospital. We didn't pick Grace Court and were a little worried because of our previous experience of a care home. We arranged a visit before mum's admittance.
We were made to feel so welcome, mum's room was beautiful and had been finished with all her personal things, bedding, pictures etc. On weekly visits, mum is always up, dressed and in the day room watching TV, something that wasn't the case previous home! I can't thank the staff enough for looking after mum and giving the family peace of mind that she is safe there and cared for as she deserves, she is 94 years old. Thank you to all the staff.

I visited the care home this weekend to say a final goodbye to everyone after my father-in-law passed away recently.
I was utterly disappointed to see that the new furniture has not yet arrived after it was ordered (apparently) almost 1 year ago!
The residents are sitting on old furniture - some without
the correct cushions on, thus making the seats even lower and obviously more difficult to get up from. The dining table chairs don't have sides on and some of them are a little wobbly (I would often spot a chair where the frame was loose so I would turn it over and temporarily fix it). It's such a shame because the care is so good here, it upsets me to see this.
My father-in-law paid out a very large sum of money every week to pay for his care and I think it's so unfair that he didn't have a comfortable armchair to sit on for the remainder of his life. (He resided there for 21 months). Where is the new furniture?

My Dad was moved out of the hospital under discharge to assess in December 2020. As a family, we were not given any choice in this move or our selection of a care setting. As such we were concerned at his placement. We needn't have been. The staff were warm and welcoming. They gave us information when
we needed, and the manager was open and honest about where would best meet my Dad's future needs going forward (residential not nursing). Staff supported the LLAMS team in coming to a diagnosis. The staff were aware that he would only be with them for a short time, but they still went to the effort of carefully sorting and labelling all his clothes for him. Their warmth and support made a difficult time easier. Thank you!

In January 2020 I needed a safe, secure home for my sister. After months of searching, and constant rejection due to lack of standardized evaluations; I had reached the end of my rather. Then I came to Grace Court Care Center. I gave them her details, and Grace Court did the rest. Her care is second
to none. I have peace of mind she is safe and happy, priceless!

We find the staff at the home caring towards the residents.
Staff are always friendly when we visit - but unable to visit at present due to COVID-19. We look forward to visiting again soon.

My lovely Dad was moved to Grace Court because he needed the EMI support that they offer, he was moved under exceptional circumstances while we were in lockdown and we were so worried about him moving to somewhere new. We have to say as a family that all the staff we spoke to were just so lovely to
us and kept reassuring us that dad was ok, they didn't just give us lip service, they let us know when Dad hadn't had a good day etc... They let us go and see Dad through the window and speak to him.
Unfortunately, my Dad was only there for two weeks, and sadly passed away, but prior to him passing the manager allowed us to come in and be with him, and for that, I am so truly grateful, she was so lovely to us and made my Dads passing calm and peaceful and we were with him until the end. She looked after us during and after, that is indeed someone who cares.
Thank you to all you staff from the bottom of our hearts.

Current Review Score: 7.5 (7.501)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.5 (7.501) out of 10 for Grace Court Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.043 for Grace Court Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.043
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.458 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grace Court Care Centre is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.333
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
