Byron Court Nursing Home carries out a service that is based on placing clients at the heart of all decisions taken, with professionals committed to a supportive and person-centred approach.

The comfortable accommodation is ideal for those with nursing or personal care requirements, while staff are also skilled in carrying out dementia care and meeting respite needs.

Byron Court now has a fully functioning EMI unit for residents with more complex dementia needs. This is located on the ground floor and has easy access to the outdoor garden area.

My mum was recently in Byron Court it was there where she passed away. The home is a lovely place where she was always shown love and respect right up to the end. I couldn't praise the staff enough not only did they help our mum but they helped us and cared for us also.

Mum was discharged to Byron Court, after a long stay in hospital. Mum was welcomed by the staff as if they had known her for a long time, they spoke to her in a compassionate way and made her feel at ease. When I went to visit the following day expecting mum to still be in bed, I received a pleasant
surprise she was up washed, dressed had eaten breakfast and sat in the lounge. The care given to mum and the other residents, in my opinion, is second to none. Sadly mum has passed away, the compassion shown to us as a family was outstanding. They have a fantastic team at Byron Court and I recommend them every time someone asked me what my experience was like.

What makes Byron Court such a special place is the people who work there. Every member of staff we came across was friendly and kind and we believe that they couldn’t have done more for Mum in the five weeks she spent there. Of huge comfort to us as a family is the knowledge that Mum was treated at
all times with great respect and genuine compassion by everyone at the nursing home. We will always be grateful to Byron Court for making sure that, thanks to its staff’s excellent approach to their work, Mum had the best care possible and died peacefully and with dignity.

Mum was in Byron Court for five weeks. The care and kindness shown to her from all the staff was excellent. They also supported us as a family and every member of staff we met was warm, friendly and helpful. (I cannot rate the food or activities as Mum was not well enough to eat meals or join activities
but there seemed to be plenty going on for residents.) The sensitivity and compassion shown when she died was wonderful and we felt they retained Mum's dignity to the end. The building itself is a bit tired but the dedication and care from the staff far outweighs this and we cannot thank them enough.

I have found the care at Byron Court to be very good. The staff are experienced, professional and very caring and understanding. The activities are excellent and inclusive. The meals are good and varied. Material standards are improving but the main thing is the good nature of the staff.

Not the best location or buildings but the staff are very good. Mum is very difficult, she can be aggressive and shouts and screams but all the staff are extremely patient and caring which I think is the most important thing.

My mum has been here for 2 and a half years. The home feels like a home and everyone from care staff to office cleaners are all friendly and helpful. The manager is very approachable. My mum is very happy here, she says it is the best place we could have picked for her.

My mum was a resident at Byron Court until recently. She died there and the care, respect and dignity shown not only to my mum but to all the family was fantastic. Every member of staff from careers to cleaners, kitchen, office and management came into mum to show their respect and say good bye and
to offer their support to us. Nothing was too much trouble.
