Our mum has not long moved into Lyndale from a home where we felt her needs were no longer being met sufficiently to make us feel comfortable leaving her there. Lyndale was highly commended by a family friend who is a healthcare professional. Our family cannot thank the staff enough for the turn around
in our mother's mental and physical wellbeing; they have certainly brought her back from the edge. Their nursing care is way above "duty and functional care" and appears to be all about humanity, dignity and great nursing practices, Mum has blossomed in the short time she has been with them. They have done all they can to facilitate contact with her during the pandemic and its never too much trouble to hand the phone over to Mum for a quick reassuring chat - for both her and us. They have managed to engage her in some activities which are both stimulating and which circumvent her dementia and settled her down into her new home very quickly. Staff are nothing short of miracle workers!

Very many thanks for this thoughtful review, your mum is a pleasure to care for and makes us smile every day in one way or another. We look forward to the end of lockdown when we can all meet one another in person.

My mum is in the Lyndale. She's been there for a few years now, she has advanced dementia.
The care she receives is exceptional. Every single member of the caring team are brilliant with her, and she in turn, adores them too. You can see it in her eyes and in her smile when they pop into her room.
There
are some really thoughtful activities that the team have created just for Mum. She used to be a ballet dancer, so one of the careers has made a playlist of all of Mum's favourite music, for her (bedridden) feet to tap along to. She absolutely loves it.
The home organises brilliant activities for all the residents actually. They also get their hair and nails done regularly, and in the summer they receive visitors in the garden and summerhouse.
When not in lockdown, I usually visit in time for Fish Friday! The food is tasty and varied, with little twists, like the addition of a heart shape chocolate on Valentine's day. So thoughtful.
I can't recommend this home highly enough.

Lyndale Nursing Home cares for my grandma. As a family, we couldn’t ask for a better home for her to be in. The staff work exceptionally hard and genuinely care about their residents. Whenever we have visited we are made to feel welcome and the staff always go above and beyond. It feels like an extended
family. My grandma has put a healthy amount of weight on and always looks immaculate. During lockdown, the staff have cut her hair, painted her nails, made her a birthday cake, put music on for her and given us numerous video calls to name but a few of the amazing things they do. I am so grateful for all the work that they do. She is treated with the respect and dignity that she deserves. As a family, we feel so lucky to have found such a beautiful home for her to live in. Thank you for everything.

Many thanks for this lovely review. We all find your Gran a delight to look after. She is a very special lady anyway, as she is a "fellow nurse" who has worked hard all her life so deserves a nice rest now.

Following Mum's stroke in May 2020 (+10 weeks in hospital) we needed somewhere close to me. Lyndale immediately asked me to visit and the atmosphere then was warm, welcoming and caring of our situation. The transition from another health authority was amazing. Everything organised quickly and efficiently.
Mum has settled well, thinks the food is good as is everything else.
Communication has been excellent. Not easy to settle into something new at 90 but the Lyndale has made it so smooth and Mum is happy. Well done.

Mum has been at Lyndale for 18months and was welcomed with love and care at once. Everyone is tuned-in to how she is feeling.
During the most difficult last few months because of covid, all the wonderful people working at Lyndale have done their utmost to keep everyone safe, secure and happy and to
keep up the morale of their residents. Our family feel that our mum is so well cared for, safe and loved at Lyndale.

I can only thank all the Lyndale staff for the years of good care they gave my late mother since she arrived in August 2016. She came into their safe hands after a brush with death when, in my opinion, she had become totally dehydrated in another care home during the summer heat. At the Lyndale proper
hydration is something they take seriously and Mum built up her strength and I and her two granddaughters had the joy of her company for more than another three years. It was a credit to the staff that she kept going even during the ongoing lock-down through to mid-May when her time really was up at 96. In that difficult, stressful period we could have absolute trust and confidence that she was in their safe hands. The nursing staff and others looked after her so gently and sensitively in those final days. We really appreciated those precious last FaceTime, WhatsApp and phone call sessions. And it meant so much to us that Mum was not alone when she left this world. Thank you.

My mum was transferred to Lyndale from hospital on an end of life package. She was extremely frail and confused and the staff helped her to settle into her very clean and pleasant room quickly. She was always treated with respect and dignity. She was encouraged to take part in craft activities. Both
my mum and family were shown kindness and consideration.
Lyndale has a lovely homely, warm atmosphere and staff are always approachable.

My dear mum has been in Lyndale Nursing Home for 6 years, since her devastating stroke. She has always had wonderful care and the staff have always helped her to maintain her dignity. The home is spotlessly clean, the food fresh and nourishing and tailored to individual residents and family and friends
are always made to feel welcome and valued. I would highly recommend Lyndale and will always thank them for looking after Mum.

It's been a long time since I've seen my friend's Grandmother but I visited a happy, busy, chatty lady - just like she used to be. My worries of visiting her in a care environment were diminished. It's a beautiful home with a warm, homely and bubbly environment. Residents, staff and visitors all seemed
so smiley! I'm so glad I went to visit, it has definitely recovered my views of a nursing home, a wonderful place!

This was my mothers first Christmas here. Management and staff were excellent, making her feel at home and all the family welcome. They made what was a difficult time easier, knowing she was safe, cared for and well looked after.
Received a Christmas card, handmade by my mother, completed as an activity,
that was unexpected and very heartwarming.

I am coming up to my fourth Christmas here and look back to many happy memories since my health improvement. I am able to take part in so many of the new ideas stated here;
1, My new wheelchair. 2, Going out each week on a door-to-door minibus service. The activities have increased in the lounge too,
quizzes, bingo, card games and knitting. 3, Fellowship with the other residents, it's home from home. Thank you Lyndale staff.

What is remarkable about Lyndale Nursing Home is that there is a high standard of clinical nurses care. There is also an emphasis on psychological and related care. My Mother's present emotional needs are valued and considered. Support staff show a genuine relationship with my Mother and appear sensitive
to her needs. My Mother has been in Lyndale for seven years and it improves year by year, showing that it has an open learning culture that works and does things better. I therefore highly recommend Lyndale Nursing Home.

I believe that my choice from the list of nursing homes that were available to me was, without doubt, the correct one. Not only for my wife but for me to my wife and I were treated with respect and kindness on a daily basis. My wife's condition being very changeable whatever requests I made were carried
out for which I will be forever grateful.

He was relaxed and as happy as possible. His death was peaceful and in the weel prior to it his care was excellent and his room
quiet and calm. I was well cared for. He had as good a death as possible.

I recently came into Lyndale after my husband, my main carer became very ill. I cannot look after myself so Lyndale helps me with everything I need. I have settled into a very nice room and everyone treats me with love and care. I am vegetarian and everything is being done to cater for my likes and
dislikes. The manager goes out shopping for my special foods. I like my privacy so can choose whether to have activities etc or not. I am very settled now.

Lyndale Nursing Home provided my father-in-law with excellent care during his time with them. The staff were patient and attentive to his needs. They enabled him to pass the remaining days of his life in comfort and safety. They were also very caring to family members. My father-in-law's visitors commented
on how kind the staff were and how clean and homely the nursing home was. I would certainly recommend Lyndale Nursing Home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.541)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.541) out of 10 for Lyndale Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.841 for Lyndale Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.841
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lyndale Nursing Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
