My 95 year old mum has only been a resident at The Lyndale for 2 months, but she is settled in extremely well and is very happy. The care and support given to her by all the staff has been excellent. She is treated with dignity at all times and everyone is friendly and helpful. The residence has a very
homely feel and her room is very comfortable, clean and bright. All her needs are being met including the food which is of an excellent standard and tailored to her specific requirements.

My mother has been a resident at The Lyndale for two and a half years. At all times her care has been excellent, the staff are friendly and very caring. The matron and other management team members have shown excellent care to my mother and to her family. They organised a very special party for her
100th birthday which was much appreciated by her nephew and nieces who were able to attend. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Lyndale to anyone looking for a safe and caring home for a member of their family.

My mum has been in Lyndale since the middle of August. All the staff have been extremely helpful to settle mum in. All her needs are catered for. The home is very clean and meals are nutritious and mum is regaining a little of her appetite as a result. Hairdressing and nail sessions have given mum her
dignity back after a long stay in hospital. Very good that visiting is open as family members all working. Mum has high needs and all the staff meeting her needs and aware of them. Consulting salt team at the moment on our behalf. Also good having regular chats/updated with staff to see how she's been between visits. Super environment.

Lyndale is a caring and well run home. We moved mum to Lyndale from another home where her needs were not met. Thank goodness we did, despite Lyndale being an old building, it was clean, fresh and welcoming. The staff are so kind and attend to all the residents needs. Since mum has been there she has
put on a little weight, her bed sores are healing and most importantly she is no longer anxious. Her contentment is all we could ask from such a wonderful family and caring staff.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.615)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.615) out of 10 for Lyndale Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.915 for Lyndale Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.915

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lyndale Nursing Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
