My husband has Parkinson's disease and dementia and our family had to make the heartbreaking decision to admit him to lyndale last year. He had been very seriously ill in hospital then home and we were unable to provide the care he required. I cannot praise the home more highly, every member of staff, many of those have worked here for many years, are of the highest calibre. Literally nothing is too much trouble. My husband always looks clean and smart, the food is excellent, his room is well kept and he is treated with care, understanding and respect. The home had a wonderful atmosphere, there is plenty of laughter and a great camaraderie among the staff. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. The staff are wonderful to me and our family/ friends, cannot praise the lyndale enough .

My mother was a resident at the Lyndale Nursing Home for three and a half years until she passed away in March 2026, aged 98. She suffered from dementia and frailty and I can honestly say that, whilst there, she received the most wonderful, attentive care. All the staff were kind and caring and treated mum with love and respect. It was like being part of a very close family, with support and compassion also extended to myself and other family members during some very worrying and difficult times. The Lyndale was also a very happy home, with lots of activities for residents, and it was lovely to often hear laughter, music and singing coming from the residents lounge.

I cannot thank the staff at the Lyndale enough for the care my mum received, which I am convinced extended her life and enabled me to spend precious, extra time with her. I have no hesitation in recommending the Lyndale to anyone looking for a home for either themselves or a loved one.

Following a tragic accident at home, my mother was a resident at The Lyndale from September 2024 - February 2026. Whilst at the home mum received a high standard of care and support from all members of the nursing/care team. Initially I think she did not know what to expect ,but she was soon made to feel comfortable , relaxed , respected and wanted. Because of her physical needs she required a high degree of individual care. These sensitive tasks were carried out with dignity and sensitivity which enabled her to feel at ease and cared for. We as a family were always made to feel at home when we visited mum The staff were always friendly, pleasant and really made an effort to create a warm and positive vibe. At the age of 98 she peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and staff that had genuinely grown to love and care for her dearly. I am so grateful for The Lyndale at such a difficult tine.

I needed a nursing home for my dad to be cared for a short while..After a conversation with the manager, Lyndale Nursing Home sounded perfect. My father quickly settled in due to the wonderful attention from the staff. They made sure he was comfortable and made sure he had everything he wanted and needed. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness not only for my father, but to my wife and I.

I highly recommend the Lyndale for anyone needing somewhere for a relative.

My mum had to move into a nursing home near the end of December 2025 so I chose Lyndale because my uncle had received such warm and caring nursing from the home during his stay from May to September 2025. Once again Lyndale didn't let us down - in mum's final few weeks she was cared for with dignity and respect by every single member of staff. I would recommend them to anyone.

I feel I must write to express how grateful I, and our family, are for the loving care and attention that my husband has received for the last year from everyone at Lyndale. They go over and above the requirements for his comfort and encourage and indulge his sense of humour. We all feel that everything is done to give him the best possible quality of life. I am always welcomed each morning on arrival. I am happy to leave him in the evening knowing that he will receive such excellent care.

Mum was resident at the Lyndale for three years and she received the absolute best in care. There was not a single day when the family had any worries or concerns about mum being well cared for or being kept safe. A lot of the staff are long term which means they get to know the residents and their families extremely well which helps to create a much more homely atmosphere.
The nursing staff really are the gold standard and never failed to make sure that mum had everything she needed and ensured the family were always kept informed. In the weeks and days prior to mums passing the staff made sure everything was in place that needed to be in place and provided a level of support for the family which we'll always be extremely grateful for.

The care and compassion given to their residents, the exemplary nursing care and the extra mile support from the manager and another member of staff who make it one of the best care homes in the Southport area. Thank you all so much for looking after mum we're truly grateful.

My mother was a resident at Lyndale for 2 years before she passed away in mid-August this year 2024.
The care and compassion she received throughout her stay as her dementia got worse was wonderful. The staff and management attention was exemplary.
Being in a smaller home, my mother got the consistency and regularity of care and nursing that she needed, as changes made it difficult for her to process due to dementia.
The home is well-kept, the gardens are amazing and beautiful.
There was always something going on for the residents, lots of different activities, from quizzes to walks out.
I have given 5 stars across the board as I could not think of anything that I saw/experienced that warranted a slight reduction.

I would not hesitate in recommending Lyndale to anyone considering a home in Southport.

After 10 very difficult weeks in hospital my husband was allowed to move into a Nursing Home. Several people had highly recommended Lyndale and we knew why as soon as we walked in. There was such a friendly, homely and peaceful atmosphere. There are not enough superlatives to describe the amazing staff. It was a delight for me and our two sons to see Dad being so well looked after and we just wish that he had been able to move there earlier. Sadly, he passed away after just 3 weeks but we felt that he was kept as comfortable as possible thanks to the excellent care he was given. The family also received wonderful support from all of you, keeping us well-informed about his treatment. In only 3 weeks we felt that we had become friends of you all and welcomed your kindness and support at a very difficult time. We will have no hesitation in recommending Lyndale to our friends.

My father was a resident here for three and a half years. He died recently. The care he received was wonderful.

Nothing was too much trouble, particularly his last days. The nursing staff were marvellous with him. He could be fussy about his food but he did admit he enjoyed his food at Lyndale which is praise indeed. He had lost most of his sight so life was challenging for him but the staff were always there for him. He enjoyed the quizzes and usually got good marks. Two of the staff very kindly took Dad into town where he met a princess when she came to Southport in September 2023. Everyone at Lyndale was so kind and caring. I cannot thank them or praise them enough. The staff were always cheery and very supportive. The Lyndale is a superb home in every way. I cannot thank them enough for all their care and support.

I cannot praise and thank all the staff highly enough. Mum was admitted in July 2023, following a 9-week harrowing ordeal in hospital. Every aspect of her care was of such a high calibre that within weeks the delirium had all but gone and she was winning the activities manager's quizzes! Her mobility also improved to the extent that she did a good impression of the road runner flashing past on her zimmer. Mum really enjoyed it when the activities manager read to her and helped her with her talking books. The nursing staff were very efficient at addressing Mum's medical needs and providing effective medications. The staff were always genuinely caring, compassionate, patient and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble. They truly are one big family and eventually allowed Mum to pass peacefully and with dignity whilst in their excellent care. The Lyndale is a 5 star care home in every way, I wholeheartedly recommend them and can't thank them enough for all their care and support.

My dad moved into the Lyndale in September 2023, initially for respite, and my mum and I could not have been more happy with the care my dad received while a resident. Sadly, his health declined whilst he was at the Lyndale and he ended up staying there for 10 weeks. The staff were absolutely brilliant with him. The nursing staff showed a true concern for his health and ensured that he received the best possible care for his many health conditions. The care staff treated him with respect and good humour which he responded to well. It was also really lovely to be told that in his final days, one of the home's managers had been sat with my dad reading poetry to him. The love and care that all the staff have for the residents could not be more clear. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Lyndale as a nursing home. My dad was so happy there and we were so happy with the care he received whilst there. A big big thank you to all the staff.

Mum was apprehensive about going to live in a home so a four week rest-bite period was arranged, after about three weeks Mum decided that she was happy and wanted to stay. The communication between all parties is excellent and we believe the care is first class. One of the main reasons Mum wanted to stay was the staff, she enjoys the friendly environment and likes to see the same faces on a regular basis. The food is of a high standard and the personal hygiene and attention is excellent. The costs are competitive and in line with the competition.

Dad was admitted to hospital for four weeks and we were advised dad could not return home. We knew we needed to put him in a nursing home and having viewed two homes already it was 3rd time lucky for us to find Lyndale. It was like home from home. All staff were so polite and caring and made our decision in leaving dad there so easy. The home was spotless, always cheerful and warm. He hadn't been there 24 hours and he had been shaved, washed, nails cut and aftershave applied. Nothing was too much trouble to any of the staff. The respect and empathy they showed my dad and my family was fantastic. Dad was hostile some days but nothing seemed to phase them. Unfortunately, dad was on end-of-life care and was only there for three weeks. But in those three weeks he was well cared for, a continuation of the care we had given him at home. The support and love we, as a family were shown on his passing, was so caring and professional. I would not hesitate in recommending this home to anyone.

My mother was a resident of Lyndale Nursing Home for almost three years. Lyndale has a wonderful atmosphere. When I visited mum I would always be greeted with lovely smiles from all the staff. The home is spotlessly clean. The staff go above and beyond. There are constant activities for the residents and a cheery atmosphere. The food are home-cooked meals and they will make something special for individual residents if needed.

During the last weeks of my mother's life, I cannot stress how wonderful the staff were both with mum and myself. Amazing is the only word I can use to describe this lovely home.

Having been thrown into finding a care home for our mum very suddenly we can’t believe how lucky we have been. Lyndale is an excellent home-from-home residence. Mum has had a very tough year and the staff are always there for her (and me) when she needs them. If you are reading this review because you need care for a family member then don’t think twice, call the Manger or the Administrator and they will help you straight away. We moved Mum to Lyndale after an awful experience with another home. After visiting numerous homes, we finally found the Lyndale. From the moment we walked through the door, everything felt absolutely right. Genuine compassion, dignified care and superb staff and management are what sets Lyndale out from the rest. It's honestly the most settled we've seen Mum in a long time and has removed the daily worry the family had previously of how Mum was coping.
