Ash Croft House

Ash Croft cared for my dad for nearly nine months. I did not worry about the level of care he received. The staff obviously and genuinely care for Dad and supported me, often on a daily basis, throughout the difficulties of Covid. I am a registered health professional myself, therefore, played an active role in all of Dad's care, and staff were always receptive to my preferences in relation to Dad's best interests. I can not fault the care from the staff at Ash Croft and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursing home. Dad did not use the facilities, food and drink or activities.

Seeing the high standard of care and fun he was having each day, enabled us to enjoy our last months with him and this has been a great comfort to us. We will never be able to thank the whole team enough.

My husband is extremely content. The staff are very caring and kind. I don't know about activities as he is bed-bound. He is peg-fed, so cannot answer you about food and drink.

Very happy with the level of care mum receives. Staff always prepared to go the extra mile, and very engaging, helpful and eager to please. Mum thinks the world of your staff and cannot praise them enough. I have no worries at all regarding her wellbeing. Thanks !!

My brother was in Ash Croft House for palliative end of life care. I couldn't have wished for him to be in a more caring place. All the staff treated him with compassion and dignity during the last few weeks of his life. The kindness shown to other residents was obvious too. The support they gave to me at a very difficult time was greatly appreciated. I cannot thank all the staff enough, they work as a team and it shows in the care they give.

In fact, they are the main strength of the service.

There is an excellent team of carers and nurses who I can see actually "care" about the residents and relatives. I feel very fortunate to have found such a great environment for my mother to be looked after in.

On the whole, it has deteriorated a lot and I am actively looking for a better provider.

My mum has been a long-time resident and is very happy at Ash Croft. Despite significant staff turnover during recent times, she remains pleased with the staff now there. Given her condition, she can be challenging at times and this is dealt with in good humour by those that know her which is of comfort to me.

All requirements adequately catered for.

My mother has been a resident since September 2018. She has received excellent care from all staff and her family has been made welcome to visit at any time.

I just wanted to leave a review on Ash Croft Nursing home in Formby. My grandma recently passed away and lived out her remaining days at Ash Croft.

I just want to compliment the staff on the amazing work they have done during the last few months of her life. They have cared, supported and most importantly been a friend to my grandma. She was a wonderful woman and only deserved the best, which she 100% received.

On arrival at the home to collect her stuff, the nurses and care assistance all came over one by one to offer their sympathy and to share stories and memories of my grandma.

If you could pass on my words to the entire staff team at Ash Croft it would be highly appreciated.

The care my dad received was excellent. He was always comfortable and warm and enjoyed the food very much. He received regular cups of tea and even a glass of wine. The staff were friendly and attentive. Most importantly his dignity was always respected. My dad was concerned about spending time in respite but his wishes were always respected so he was treated just like at home. High standards but not high price.

Ash Croft House was everything we could have hoped for with regards to end of life care for our father. From the outset, the staff treated my father with respect and dignity and were very supportive of family members. A well run caring environment with fantastic staff.

The house is undergoing renovations when finished it will be greatly improved. The staff are very helpful and understanding. I have had lunch on three occasions quite pleased with the standard.

Ash Croft House is two large houses combined. It takes a little while to get used to the layout, but the furnishings and decoration are to a high standard. There has been a period of transition when the long-time manager moved on to pastures new, and, when the replacement was eventually found, she did not settle, and a period of high staff turnover ensued, which was disturbing. A settled and familiar staff is essential for residents who may be confused/demented. Each person is unique and often requires a unique approach to furnishing their needs. A new manager has been installed and the staff situation has likewise settled, and the 'atmosphere' has improved greatly. Whoever has been responsible for recruiting the staff has done a remarkable job of selecting a group of people who are, without exception, respectful, warm, caring, and very professional. They deal with the residents and visitors/relatives in a calm and reassuring manner. I cannot praise them highly enough.

I and my siblings found Ash Croft House very friendly, homely and with a warm atmosphere.

My mother was so ill and after a long stay in hospital was in need of 21 day assessment. The care home she was given by the social worker was disgusting and made me cry the thought of leaving her there. However the social worker asked me to view Ash Croft House. My first impression as soon as I walked in was "This is it". The manager was warm, friendly and gave me lots of information, practical and reassuring. My mum is so happy and the best she has looked health wise in 12 months. All the staff are respectful friendly and caring. I have already recommended this provider to a friend.
