A smaller nursing home with a more personal approach to care.
Fairfield Nursing Home is a warm and welcoming 30-room nursing home in Heswall, offering personalised residential and nursing care in comfortable, newly refurbished surroundings.
Being a smaller home means the Fairfield team can really get to know each resident – their individual needs, preferences, routines and the things that matter most to them. Care is supported by highly qualified nurses and experienced care staff, with clinical oversight and support available 24 hours a day.
Fairfield provides nursing and residential care for older people, including those living with more complex health needs. The team has experience supporting people following a stroke, those living with Parkinson’s disease, COPD and physical disabilities, as well as providing convalescent and palliative/end-of-life care.
Most importantly, Fairfield is a happy, friendly home with happy residents. Families are encouraged to be part of life at the home, and there are no restrictions on visiting.
Following recent refurbishment, Fairfield offers comfortable bedrooms, welcoming communal areas and accessible gardens, all within a pleasant residential area of Heswall and close to local shops and transport links.
New residents are warmly welcomed for both respite nursing care and permanent stays.
Choosing a care home is a big decision, so families are encouraged to read Fairfield's independent reviews on carehome.co.uk and, even better, come and see the home for themselves.

This nursing home is nothing short of amazing. Every single member of staff are fantastic. They actually care. My dad was in this home from Jan - Dec 2018 which is why Mum is there now. Three members of the team are still there now. The home is spotlessly clean, fresh and inviting. From the manager right down to the cleaning staff, every one is incredible. Mum is fantastically cared for with respect and dignity. The activities provided are inventive and provided most days. I do not want to single out any particular member of staff because I cannot say anyone is better than anyone else. Mum is listened to and cared for in a way we did not think a care home could provide. Most importantly she is happy. Nothing is too much trouble.
Many thanks for your kind words and for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. I shall let the team know how appreciated they are and the difference they make to each individuals life who lives here in our care. We will always go above and beyond to keep everyone who lives here as happy end enriched as we possibly can. As the new manager here i could not be more proud of the team.
They see to her needs and are professional and focused on her personal care and her medication management. They are very patient and dedicated.

I strive as the manager to ensure all our residents receive the very best of care.

It was the most traumatic experience I have ever had, the decision to move my mum into full time care. I could not have picked a better place. Its a cross between a little cottage hospital and a homely hotel. The staff are dedicated, caring and so much fun ! They don't just look after my mum, but...
Thank you
Sue

We've always found the home to be caring and respectful of the residents needs. There are a mixture of daily activities led by an enthusiastic program leader.
Whilst the home may not have the interior of some " upmarket" homes it is well kept, clean and welcoming. We are happy with the way in which she is looked after.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your mother feels well cared for at Fairfield and that your family has had consistently positive experiences with us. Our team is dedicated to providing a supportive and respectful environment for all our residents, and it's encouraging to know this is reflected in your experience.

When my husband needed full time care we had a list of care homes to see. Fairfield being the closest to home we decided to view first. We arrived unannounced and were really happy with our tour. We didn't go anywhere else. The home was lovely. Friendly wonderful staff who are very caring. He has improved so much since being there and is so much safer than at home. He has plenty of interaction and entertainment. We are very happy with his care.
You can visit the home whenever you want. There are no set times. They have nothing to hide. Rooms now personalised/encouraged. Activities are great.

The staff and carers at Fairfield are excellent. I couldn't ask for anymore when I comes to the care of my mum. The entertainment is excellent and no-one is left out. All needs are catered for.

My father was only at Fairfield for a short period - around a month - but the care and attention he received was first class. All the staff are very professional and sympathetic yet extremely friendly too.

The staff immediately made my grandad feel extremely welcome and I could tell that they had instantly begun to build a rapport with him and us as his family.
The care he received was second to none. His stay was only short but in that time the staff made him and us feel like we had been there for many years. The Care Assistants really are a credit to the home and they make sure each and every resident are looked after to the best of their ability. It goes without saying that Fairfield will always hold a special place in my heart and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care and compassion you gave to my Grandad and my family. Your Activities Coordinator is also a very special person. She works tirelessly with the residents - also a credit to the home. Thank you to all the staff.

The food could be better. By the time my mother's food arrives it is lukewarm. Mum needs help to eat but doesn't get it. The buzzer for her room is not in reach for her most of the time. I am her sole visitor and it would be great if there were other parties involved to visit.
This is a very disappointing review for a resident who has been with us a long time. Unfortunately, we are only able to do what the person wants, we cannot force interaction if they refuse to be involved. Assistance is offered but again we can only help as the person allows. I am available to discuss issues, and can always come to the home if required out of my normal hours.
Fairfield staff consistently combined friendliness and caring with professionalism and efficiency. We were very grateful that we were able to find a room for our mum at your care home. Thanks very much to you all.

Lovely review, thank you I will pass this on to all the staff. We are glad we have been able to help.
My aunt had to go into a nursing home due to very ill health. I choose Fairfield as it has an excellent reputation on the Wirral. My aunt was treated like a V.I.P (her words) during her time there. My aunt passed away whilst there and the staff and management were so very kind.

My father recently had a short stay at Fairfield Nursing Home. He was very ill & was there less than a month before his death. As a family, we didn't know what to expect after his discharge from hospital & knew he was ailing rapidly. The staff at Fairfield were universally friendly, fun &...
Moreover, & particularly telling, was the care extended to my mum (and other family and friends) when visiting. I always left feeling the whole family were being looked after, and the compassion & flexibility shown as dad was dying was fantastic - even when we probably overstayed our welcome! I would highly recommend Fairfield, based on our short term but very positive experience.
