Review from Valerie M (Friend of Resident) published on 3 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Our friend was a resident of St Georges for 9 years. Initially St Georges provided 24 hour 1 to 1 care, which reduced as she improved, due to good care. Plenty of care staff available- found time to talk to residents, encouraged by management. Friend was always smartly dressed hair done, nails polished- important for her. Friend went out with carer when one to one. Residents encouraged to go outside- activities enjoyed by many, especially music and pamper sessions. Palliative care provided at end of her life was excellent, staff always welcoming to visitors, respected their visitors.

My mum has been in St. George's for nearly two years now and I can not be happier with the care she has received. Nothing is too much for staff and they make family incredibly welcome and included. The care they provide is exceptional and they constantly do their best to be as timely and caring and physically possible. My mum was very agitated and distressed when she first went into the home but she is now so calm and loves all the staff and even with her dementia has built a great rapport with staff.

The home is constantly being improved and the staff and manager are always pushing for better facilities and activities.

I can't thank the management and staff of St Georges enough they took really good care of my mum who was on end of life care, she sadly passed away at St Georges where she treated with dignity and respect on her death. St Georges is a friendly and caring home. I would not hesitate placing a loved one there.

After a year of severe health problems, my now 93 year mum was admitted to St George's. It was an extremely difficult decision as she had been very independent previously. We have seen her make some improvement - eating, medical care and her condition settled. We feel re-assured as a family by the care she receives and the way they keep us informed.

Dad moved into St George Care Home in January. We have been so grateful for the excellent level of care and attention Dad has received. Every member of staff is lovely, so kind, so responsive. In what has been such a difficult decision and time, St George's has made us feel safe and cared for, and it's lovely to know that dad is safe. Thank you.

Overall Experience

This home provides a warm, friendly, welcoming environment offering a safe and supportive space for residents to be cared for to a high standard. My dad is really settled here since he moved in December. Staff are plentiful, polite, professional and hardworking, and my dad has formed some lovely relationships. The manager and staff genuinely care about their residents and take into account individual care needs and routines. The home is always warm and clean and the food of a good standard. Staff are responsive to residents needs and encourage families to be involved with all aspects of their relatives care. They provide a safe and homely atmosphere and it is lovely to hear the relaxing music which is usually playing in the communal areas. There are regular activities and parties for eg xmas, easter, summer and meetings with families to discuss relatives care/news about the home highlighting concerns or incidents in a transparent way whilst encouraging feedback. Overall fantastic

Mum passed on 8th May at the home. The care, kindness and compassion shown by all staff kept her safe & happy for the years she was there. Everybody is treated with dignity & respect & everybody is called by their name by all members of staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them to keep mum comfortable & the nursing care was outstanding. It really is like family.

Mum was only in St George's for 6 days but received the most amazing care from every single person who she came into contact with. Her last few days were made as comfortable as possible and she passed away in the best place. As her family, we too felt so well looked after and cared for. Thank you to everyone.

My wife went into St Georges in July 2024.She has Vascular Dementia. I was worried about leaving her with strangers but was soon put at ease. The staff from management right through are friendly, caring and totally professional. My wife is relaxed with them and so are we. They look after her and care for her and look after us as family as well. We are kept informed as to what is happening with my wife and what is ongoing in the home. There are always staff and nurses around and they will always take time to speak to you if you have any questions.

I would recommend St Georges to anyone. Thank you.

I have found the home to be very caring, considerate and have made visiting Mum welcoming. Mum has been well cared for and we have felt very much a part of her care package. Nothing has been too much, and we have been kept in the loop every step of the way. The room is clean and the facilities. We have seen a bit improvement of her care since moving her from the other home. Well done guys!
