All staff are very professional in their approach and are always willing to deal promptly with all needs for residents.
They handle issues of aggression and abusive language excellently.
The home has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It is clearly professionally managed.
I have had contact with
up to 30 staff (across all levels) over recent weeks and not found anyone to be substandard.

St George's has cared for my mother for nearly 4 years, the care has always been good but since the present manager has been in place it has been excellent! My mother has multiple and complex needs and is often very difficult to care for, but the staff without exception are never anything but kind,
efficient and caring without being unprofessional. The manager and his team think nothing about going over and above to care for their residents and their relatives. Cannot recommend St George's highly enough.

My mother is very happy at St George's. and the current management is a breath of fresh air. Mum has been a resident for four years now, and it gives great comfort to know that she is receiving dignity, comfort and respect from all staff, which I appreciate can be a very challenging profession. Thank
you.

We are very pleased with the treatment my aunt receives from the home. She has settled in very well. Although she doesn't know where she is, she is happy. Gives me peace of mind knowing she is well cared for. The home has much improved since my aunt first arrived. The management has spent a lot of money
on the work, all to their credit, the staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble.

Always given a very warm welcome by staff who will then find a seat for us. The residents are sitting comfortably in their chairs, supported by staff. The place is always very clean and this can be supported by cleaners around the residence cleaning doors, tables, toilets etc. Residents appear to be
very well cared for and settled. If they are distressed; staff will check on their needs. A variety of activities happen each day and a great deal of effort is put into celebrating special days and birthdays.

I am more than happy at the levels of service, commitment and care given in the home to our dear friend and brother. Very encouraged by the staff's willingness to help visitors with their enquiries and concerns. Even at this early stage in visiting our friend and brother, I can safely say that in his
shoes, I would be happy being cared for in this home.

We have seen a very big improvement at St George's in the last six years. The building itself is an old hospital ward, but the quality of care is very good. Staff and management are always very helpful and interested. All efforts are being made to keep residents active and occupied. Impressed with new
food regime starting January. Some very expensive homes we visit are not as good as St George's.

My grandad was a resident of the home for over 12 months with stage four pancreatic cancer. All of the staff were amazing in their care. They went above and beyond in so many ways. Considering I don't live in the area, it was so reassuring to know that he was well looked after and I didn't have to worry
about him. The communication was great from the staff, and they kept me informed about each step. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a wonderful care home.

When visiting my aunt each day, it was no trouble for any of the staff to help in any way and make me feel welcome. My aunt had the care she needed in every way. Even when we sadly lost my aunt and felt great sadness, the staff were so supportive. We cannot thank them enough for all the care and would
recomend St George's to anyone who needs a loving and caring place for short or long term. Thank you all.

We have been very impressed with the level of care and support afforded to my dad since he moved to St George’s at the end of June. All staff are lovely and friendly, extremely patient with my dad’s challenging needs and always welcoming of us when we visit. Special mention must go to the deputy manager,
who advocated strongly for my dad in an assessment meeting and even facilitated video calls between us and dad during our recent holiday. She takes time to understand individual patients’ needs in detail. This reassures us that dad is being well cared for. Thanks so much to everyone at St George’s. We couldn’t ask for anything more and would recommend to anyone!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.675)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.675) out of 10 for St George's Care Homes is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.675 for St George's Care Homes is calculated as follows: ( (222 Excellents x 5) + (92 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 320 Ratings = 4.675
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St George's Care Homes is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
