Welcome to Rowans Care Centre, a purpose-built 36-bedded home nestled in a peaceful residential area of Macclesfield. Conveniently located near the town centre, the home enjoys close proximity to local amenities and excellent transport links, with a regular bus route and nearby shops.

Rowans Care Centre specialises in providing a range of care services for the elderly, from assistance with daily living tasks to elderly nursing care and support for residents with dementia. The home boasts modern amenities and features, including a spacious lounge area on the ground floor and a quiet 'Reminiscence' lounge and family kitchen on the first floor.

Each of the single occupancy bedrooms offers comfort and security, with convenient access to communal areas via a passenger lift. The dedicated staff are always on hand, with a call bell system ensuring quick assistance when needed.

The team takes pride in fostering a warm and vibrant atmosphere at Rowans, with a dedicated activities team organising a variety of engaging events and sessions, from sherry mornings and bingo sessions to arts, crafts, and baking activities. Rowans Care Centre is committed to community engagement and sustainability. They work closely with the voluntary group 'Food for Macc’ to support local initiatives, including encouraging residents to grow their own vegetables. Bountiful harvests provide the centre with a delightful selection of fresh produce, enriching residents' dining experience.

With two highly skilled registered nurses on duty during the day and additional support at night, along with regular visits from the General Practitioner, Rowans Care Centre ensures the highest standards of care and support for all residents and strives to create a true home from home where residents feel valued.

After spending 2 or 3 weeks in hospital, they decided that my wife needed some palliative care and immediately recommended Rowans. Even from the first minute I could tell that the Rowans was a place that could offer kindness and care to my most wonderful wife. To be experiencing the few remaining days
of Alzheimer's is really terrible time for all concerned, for both patients and love ones. It is hard not to mention individual names but the attendant nurses and other staff showed incredible care whatever their role. All of my wife's family were so happy to notice the involvement of each member of staff, no matter what their duty was. A cup of tea was always presented to visiting friends and each person we met showed great kindness and concern not only for my wife, but for all her visitors. During one evening I happened to be waiting (unknown) whilst the nurse was attending to my wife's comfort. I was so grateful to experience such personal and loving care. Although albeit for a relatively short period of time. Thank you to all the staff from Rowans. We all could see the wonderful kindness by all members of staff.

Husband enjoyed the food. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Everywhere (rooms and public places) was clean and pleasant and well maintained. Would have liked husband to have had more walking about to keep his mobility levels okay but realise staffing levels may not have been able to provide
this.

My mum sadly passed away a few days ago which was devastating. She has been at The Rowans since September 2023. I am so glad she was here the staff are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. They supported us during mums death. They are kind and compassionate just lovely, lovely people . I can't thank them enough
and will always be happy that they made my mums last part of her life as happy as they could. A wonderful place.

Clean, warm and welcoming. Usually offered a drink and cake on arrival. Food looks and smells delicious. Sadly a lot of the residents seem to always be sat in wheelchairs, in the dinning room with nothing to stimulate them. There seems to be no activities on a regular basis. Christmas seems to be the
last time the residents had any kind of entertainment. The games cupboard has very little equipment to encourage table games being played with the residents. Not enough physio for for residents that could do with more. Eating plans need reviewing as some residents may not need their food purified.

Residents have a perscribed diet from SALT and are refereed as required. It is a legal requirement to follow the persribed diet. We have to wait for a resident to be reviewed before we can alter a diet this is an NHS service and unfortunately we have to wait until they visit. The games cupboard has many board games available and the activities team are available to chat.We have regular visitors to the home for "entertainment" purposes this week we had armchair exercises, today we have a church visit. This weekend we are celebrating a special birthday. As with any product entertainers come at a high cost and we have to ensure we offer something for everyone. We do not have physiotherapy input unless perscribed again this is an NHS service and not something we would provide as a nursing home however, if required this can be purchased from a private source.If you have any further concerns please do not hesitate to speak to member of staff who can help with this.

Since mum joined the residents at the Rowans, we feel we have an extended family. The staff and management team are very caring and understanding of mum needs, mum has Parkinson's and Parkinson's dementia and has other needs which the staff are always there to help her with.

My mother-in-law has been cared for with dignity for about 20 months, since June 2023, in the Rowans. The staff look after her very well and the food is always nice. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff try to meet her needs. They always have her safety at the forefront and try their utmost
to keep her as content and comfortable at all times.

Good care home but could do with improvement, activities not always carried out very limited.
Most staff are very good some put on the ones who are very good and dedicated, kitchen staff excellent nothing to much trouble.

A very friendly cheerful home, all staff from kitchen, cleaners, carers and managers are friendly polite, and efficient. Sometimes my mother has to wait for attention but never long enough that I have to go looking for staff. The grounds need to be tidier but this is a small point but would be nice
to see it improved plenty of car park availability at the home with spaces for your car at a very local shop if needed, overall I would recommend the Rowans, good value, great care, well done!

Mum was fortunate to get a place at the Rowans Care Centre for intermediate care following hospitalisation. We realised that her frailty meant that a permanent care home would best fulfil her needs and mum has now moved to a lovely spacious room and is settling nicely. The staff are wonderful; very
attentive to her needs, very caring and kind and can't do enough for her. We are kept well informed of all developments; kept well in the loop. It has been an enormous relief to me as her carer for the last 10 years! Thank you all!

My 95-year-old mother was admitted to hospital after breaking her left hip. She was transferred to the Rowans Care Centre after 5 days. She was very fragile, unsteady and didn't eat or drink much. She is quite difficult to deal with. She slipped away quietly at the Rowans. Care was satisfactory.

My life in Rowans Care Home is very good. I am really well looked after and cared for by very nice staff, who make sure all my needs are met and make time to chat with me. My room is light, airy, spacious and and kept very clean. Menus are well thought out and there is always enough choice, even if
I would like something different. Residents' special celebrations are done with a lot of thought, consideration and hard work. Thank you! I would like more crafts/arts/activities on the timetable please. It would also be good if recycling could be done on-site.

A very friendly and caring environment which is difficult to fault. Inside, the home is very light and spacious and generally well maintained. The staff are always very friendly and attentive.
The grounds are not quite so well maintained but it is clear that money is spent where it is most needed -
on the inside and on care.

Initially when arrived at the home from hospital, staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large, well maintained, and well equipped. Daily cleaning of your room with excellent attention to detail. Handful of care staff are very friendly and a credit to the home, along with a number of nurses,
as cannot do more for you. Only downside here is not all staff are as caring and focused on your needs required. Food and drinks are available at all times, and if there is something you fancy that isn't on the menu they will do there best to accommodate. Only issue is, I found hair within the food a number of times. Activities are an area of improvement needed, as didn't really witness many happening, or tended to be the same repeated handful of activities only. Manager could be more hands on and visible on the floor of the home day to day, as often spend most time in the office. Overall the home needs areas of improvement, which is a shame as few staff are an asset and keep the home going

We are confident that Rowans Care Centre is a caring place with compassionate and professional staff. Regarding your concerns about the staff, we want to emphasise that our team, including agency staff, receive comprehensive training to ensure the highest standards of care and we apologise if you have felt otherwise. As per the needs of the care service, there is an expectation that the manager has to spend time in the office due to their role-specific management duties, however, we will continue to monitor this and make improvements should we need to.

From the first visit to the Rowans Care Centre, one staff member in particular and the team were very pleasant and helpful showing us around and explaining all that any patient requires. Mum arrives and was welcome and soon settled in to lovely care home. Mum was a little nervous of the new environment
and one staff member in particular took the time going the extra mile to reassure mum and that was very much appreciated along with all other team members. They all shine and look after all at the home. It's a truly amazing place with very hardworking staff. Thank you, you made our mum's experience perfect and lovely.

My mother-in-law is very well looked after in the Rowan Care Centre. She is 91, has dementia and mobility issues, but is always delighted when she sees a staff member. We are very grateful for the amazing care she has from 3 carers in particular and the rest of the staff that cares for her.
