All the staff, from the management to everybody, are wonderful. We have no complaints whatsoever.
I find the staff very friendly, always ask if I would like a drink.
It was the resident's 96th birthday, and I visited with my partner and family. The staff decorated the lounge with balloons and birthday wishes and provided sandwiches and a beautiful cake. Their care and compassion were so heartfelt and very much appreciated by all. We couldn't wish for better.
My husband was placed in the Rowans Care Centre by the NHS for rehabilitation after a lengthy stay in hospital. During his stay, he has always been treated with the greatest care and respect. His physical and mental health has improved no end, and I put this down to the wonderful care shown by all of the staff at the Rowans. I am absolutely positive that he would not be as well as he is today without their care and attention. I couldn't recommend this care home highly enough.
Thank you so very much, we enjoyed the time your husband spent with us. I will pass this on to the team at the Rowans.
Mum has been in the Rowans for three years, has dementia and is bedbound. She receives all the care needs from dedicated, caring, friendly professional staff who are approachable and treat mum with dignity and respect despite her sometimes challenging behaviour. The Rowans is a 70's prefab type old building which was in need of TLC - which has happened recently - just the bedrooms and bathrooms left!
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it is greatly appreciated and I will pass your comments to our staff at the next staff meeting.
I find it difficult to give an accurate review as mother is more or less bedridden if I have any issues I told the staff and they have resolved the matter. I think management and staff managed the covid situation very well.
Thank you so much for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
It has been a really tough time these last few years because of Covid but during this time I have always felt that my relative was being very well cared for.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it is greatly appreciated and I will pass your comments to our staff at the next staff meeting.
My partner and I visited my aunt in the afternoon for one and a half hours, we conformed to the rules of wearing masks as required. My aunt was asleep part of the time due to having a busy morning but she did wake and we chatted, but she has dementia and is very deaf. I take a pad and pen to write words requiring her comments. The carers came in from time to time chatting to auntie and ourselves informing us of her daily life - seeing the doctor, having her hair done, watching videos, enjoying her food. Her room and the lounge have been redecorated and the lounge refurbished.
Thank you so much for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
After living at Rowans for the last three years, my mother died at the end of August and I am posting this review to highlight just how impressed I have been by the care given to her during her time here. All the management and staff have been so kind, caring and compassionate to Mum throughout her stay and also very welcoming and supportive to all her family during visits and so on. In the final few days, they made sure that Mum was always comfortable and that I always knew what was happening. I am truly grateful for their kindness and their care.
Good to see Mum outside on the bench.
The meals are very good.
I have enjoyed my time here.
My mother is always clean and well cared for by the staff; who take a personal interest in her and our family.
We are always made to feel very welcome when we visit, Mum loves it at the Rowans.
Very nice place - lovely!
I can’t recommend The Rowans highly enough, from its compassionate care and ancillary staff, committed qualified staff, and approachable and extremely friendly management. The home is bright and airy and while it’s not the most up to date building the staff keep it clean and very well maintained. I work within frontline health services and visit many care facilities and The Rowans knocks the socks off most of the more expensive/ larger private facilities available on this area.
The Rowans is an excellent care home, from the moment our mum came here she has been made to feel at home and she is extremely happy here. All the staff are very friendly and caring. We would recommend it highly.
I am happy with the care my mum has been given. She is well cared for and she is very happy and settled here, which makes me and my sister happy.
They did all they could to make sure she was, at all times, clean and comfortable.
I felt confident she was always been looked after very well and really cared about her well being, all members of staff are outstanding, I cannot praise them enough.
Many Thanks.
My father was a resident at Rowans until he sadly passed away on 19.06.17. The care and support that my father received during his short stay was outstanding. All the staff were very friendly which enabled my Dad to settle into a caring, homely environment. During the final stages before my Dad passed away, he was treated with dignity and the end of life care provided was excellent and a great comfort to the family. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care provided.
Since my mother entered this care home 9 months ago I have never failed to be impressed by the staff - each member if dedicated and caring and, however difficult the circumstances, all of the residents are shown compassion and respect. Staff members take time to talk and listen to residents and, if there are any concerns, these are quickly dealt with to the satisfaction of the residents.
The management is so welcoming and caring, also for the patient's family.
The care home goes the extra mile in everything.

A warm welcome to our vibrant and caring home at the Rowans!
At Rowans Care Centre, our commitment goes beyond providing exceptional care - we're about building warm relationships and fostering a family atmosphere that defines our community.
As a proud Home Manager, I believe great care goes further than rules and regulations. It's about real human relationships and emotions, knowing each resident's story, and treating them like family. Making a difference in people's lives and being part of that transformative journey are the driving forces behind my dedication.
At the Rowans, everyone has a say in every aspect of their lives. From supporting hobbies to crafting personalised meal plans, we champion autonomy and choice.
Creating a positive and inclusive environment is at the core of what we do, for both residents and team members. At the Rowans, everyone is encouraged to feel a sense of belonging, have a voice, feel valued, collaborate, and have the resources they need.
To those considering the Rowans for their loved ones, know that your family is as important to us as they are to you. We care not only for your loved one but for you too.
