My life in Rowans Care Home is very good. I am really well looked after and cared for by very nice staff, who make sure all my needs are met and make time to chat with me. My room is light, airy, spacious and and kept very clean. Menus are well thought out and there is always enough choice, even if I would like something different. Residents' special celebrations are done with a lot of thought, consideration and hard work. Thank you! I would like more crafts/arts/activities on the timetable please. It would also be good if recycling could be done on-site.
Thank you for your review. We do enjoy a good party! Activities are constantly revolving to encourage more up take from residents, we will continue to respond to feedback and hope to improve this service.
The grounds are not quite so well maintained but it is clear that money is spent where it is most needed - on the inside and on care.
Thank you for your kind words it is so nice to share good feedback and I will pass this on to the team.
I can only pass on positive feed back from my experiences of all aspects, areas and departments of the home. The staff are all very approachable, friendly, competent, caring, patient, experienced and go above and beyond their line of duties to ensure residents feel at home. I am extremely happy that my Mother in law is in their care and feel reassured on every level. Well done to everyone! I'm very grateful. I know as her previous carer for many years just how much hard work is involved!
Many thanks for your kind words it can be a difficult role but with high benefits. To see residents and families happy is our goal.
Initially when arrived at the home from hospital, staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large, well maintained, and well equipped. Daily cleaning of your room with excellent attention to detail. Handful of care staff are very friendly and a credit to the home, along with a number of nurses, as cannot do more for you. Only downside here is not all staff are as caring and focused on your needs required. Food and drinks are available at all times, and if there is something you fancy that isn't on the menu they will do there best to accommodate. Only issue is, I found hair within the food a number of times. Activities are an area of improvement needed, as didn't really witness many happening, or tended to be the same repeated handful of activities only. Manager could be more hands on and visible on the floor of the home day to day, as often spend most time in the office. Overall the home needs areas of improvement, which is a shame as few staff are an asset and keep the home going
We are committed to providing the best care for our residents. We are, however, really sorry that you feel this way. This is not the experience or feedback reviews of the vast majority of our residents and their families. We are confident that Rowans Care Centre is a caring place with compassionate...
Thank you for your love and support. A particular carer and the full team are outstanding in their work.
Thank you for your kind words it was a pleasure to care for your relative.
From the first visit to the Rowans Care Centre, one staff member in particular and the team were very pleasant and helpful showing us around and explaining all that any patient requires. Mum arrives and was welcome and soon settled in to lovely care home. Mum was a little nervous of the new environment and one staff member in particular took the time going the extra mile to reassure mum and that was very much appreciated along with all other team members. They all shine and look after all at the home. It's a truly amazing place with very hardworking staff. Thank you, you made our mum's experience perfect and lovely.
Thank you for your review it's so good to hear the hard work pays off. It was a pleasure to care for your mum and we wish her well at home.
Thank you.
Thank you for your review it is a pleasure to care for your loved one.
My father was a resident at the Rowans for over 3 years, he was treated just like family by all the staff. He couldn't have been looked after better, the care provided was wonderful, the homemade food amazing along with the incredible homemade celebration cakes produced by the extremely talented kitchen staff on his birthday! This gave my mother and myself peace of mind that he was so well provided for and was happy in his surroundings. We cannot recommend the Rowans highly enough for anyone who has a family member needing care.
Thank you for your kind review, the staff remember Dad with fondness and he is missed by all. It is always a privilege to be allowed to care for a family member.
2. Bed sheets not being changed except when wet or soiled.
3. The room floor is not properly mopped or clean. Large spiders walking around!
4. Personal care is slow, especially at handovers, which is when I want to get up.
5. Door banging all the time - needs a snubber.
6. Burning fat smell from the kitchen every mealtime.
7. 'Continental' staff do not know what 'gluten-free' means.
8. No privacy - staff came into the room whether I was on the toilet or having a wash.
I am sorry that you felt this way during your stay. Please let me address them: 1. showers are offered daily and can be requested. 2. Bed sheets again can be changed on request, we do not automatically change daily unless required. 3. The floor is mopped at least once daily and domestics are always...
My mum has been a resident here for a while now and since her time here she seems completely relaxed and settled. The staff are exceptional in their care and attention shown since my mum moved here. I was less than impressed with her former care home so I was a little apprehensive about Rowans but I needn't have been as they are 1st class in every aspect of the care they give. Can't recommend them enough for the amazing job they do.
Many thanks for your lovely review its so nice to be praised and I will take great joy in sharing this with my staff.
We were shown kindness from the start by all staff and communication was excellent.
Mum was well cared for and so were we.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure and a privilege to care for your mum.
My husband stayed at The Rowans for 4 weeks to recuperate following a hospital stay. The staff were very warm and caring and responsive to his needs which are quite complicated as he has multiple medical issues. He was treated with a lot of kindness and great respect. He enjoyed the food a lot too and there was a good choice and plenty of it.
Thank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure to care for your husband.
We are being encouraged to take meals with her (which we pay for) from time to time and the food is delicious, homecooked and plentiful.
Pre-Covid, there were more regular activities. Staff are working hard to restore activities.
We are working hard to restore activities!
All the staff have been fantastic with my mum. The care she has been given is first class. They go out of their way to make Mum comfortable and always speak to you with a smile on their face and nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for your kind review. It is a pleasure and a privileged to care for your mum.
The staff here are marvellous, friendly and engaging and can't do enough for my father. The food is appetising and well-cooked. My sister and I have enjoyed visiting to see my father no longer lonely.
Thank you for your kind review. It is a privilege and a pleasure to care for Father.
There is a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and engaging. The food is always of a very high standard - extremely tasty and freshly cooked. We greatly enjoy our Sunday lunches with my father.
Thank you for your kind review. It is a pleasure and a privilege to care for your father.
I cannot praise the Rowans Care Centre highly enough. The care and attention they have given Mum has been amazing and it truly feels like a family. The food -particularly the baking- is always excellent and there is always someone available to provide Mum the support she needs. The manager and all her team are a credit to the caring profession.
Thank you for your kind review. It was a privilege and a pleasure to care for Mum at the Rowans Care Centre.
All the staff are hardworking and genuinely very kind and caring. My dad is treated with compassion and respect. The food choice is good, my dad enjoys the food and also the activities.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the Rowans and I feel reassured that my dad is safe and well cared for.
Thank you so much for your kind review. It is a pleasure and privilege to care for your father and your family.
Mum arrived mid-February and was immediately welcomed with open arms by the various members of the team; manager, nurse, carers and admin. The stress I had previously (for the past three years) disappeared within a couple of weeks with the Rowans Care Centre team taking the responsibilities I had. It's early days of course as yet, but I have every trust and confidence in Rowans.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are one big happy family at the Rowans and are privileged to be able to care for your relative. I am so pleased we have helped to reduced your stress!
Complaint - the temperature is over 25 degrees C - too hot for normal living resulting in sleeping being sweaty, with damp bedding.
Medication - always on time and with correct doses. The six weeks spent at this facility were quite pleasant as I slowly recovered enough to return home. Not enough staff available - but staff present worked very hard all the time. The buzzer for help was the most disturbing feature, disturbing sleep.
Many thanks to all who helped me to recover.
Thank you for your feedback. We continue to monitor the temperature within the home closely. We are really pleased you found our staff kind and caring and that this aided your recovery and return home.
