Reviews

9.7 Woodlands Care Centre has a Review Score of 9.7 (9.674)

The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Woodlands Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Woodlands Care Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.674 for Woodlands Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 141 Ratings = 4.674

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Care Centre is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 6 positive Reviews (30 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 11 Reviews ÷ 6 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Our mum has been at the Woodlands Care Centre for only a couple of months. We have found all staff welcoming and care always provided as if extended family. Our mum is always clean and tidy and seems happy in her environment which means an awful lot to us given her poor health requirements. Meals are always appetising and everyone is comfortable in their lovely rooms. As it's early days, we can only comment on our first impressions, which were a very warm and welcoming care providers.

Thank you very much, we really appreciate your feedback. We will always do whatever we can to make your mum, you and your family feel happy and welcome.

Mum was admitted to hospital, the care she received at Woodlands Care Centre was exemplary and the staff are friendly and always welcoming. Mum always looked clean with clean clothes on. I cannot in anyway fault the care and attention mum received. The staff working at the Woodlands are a credit to the profession.

Thank you Mark for your lovely feedback. The team have seen it and are very grateful

My sister has been a resident of Woodlands, Macclesfield for over 18 months now and myself and my husband can't fault this home. The staff are lovely friendly and helpful. The care is outstanding and the home is always clean. The gardens are lovely and the manager at this home has done a fantastic job running this home and works hard like all the staff. My sister gets on so well with the staff. Thankyou Woodlands for taking care of my sister, I know I never need to worry.

Mum has almost spent a year here. The centre has always welcomed our family and we can visit mum as often as we can anytime. There is a lovely family feel about the home and it's residents. The accommodation is comfortable and warm and cosy. Mum is able to make her own choices when possible and as a family, we can communicate with the staff at any time. We are happy at all times.

Janis McFarlane, Operations Director at Woodlands Care Centre responded to this review on 14 Nov 2017:

Thank you for taking the time to review our home and for the kind comments which will be forwarded to our staff team.

Our mother was transferred to Woodlands following a fall and a subsequent hip operation. She was not able to communicate well due to a deterioration in her dementia and physical frailty. From the moment we arrived, all the staff, without exception, were very welcoming and empathetic to her situation. Nothing was too much trouble and the simple thoughtful things they anticipated both for her needs and ours was exceptional. These people we have only just met but due to their caring nature became very dear to us during this sad and difficult time. There was a lovely family feel to this home which reminds us that people make a home, not buildings. We cannot thank them enough for being there for us all.

The staff were all caring and I could not wish for better care even in a more expensive home.
The staff were above and beyond what I expected.
The rooms were well kept and it was a very peaceful setting.
I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
They could not have been more helpful.
It was an enjoyable experience.

Thank you so much, Sue, for your comments and feedback.

The staff were excellent, very caring to my wife and supportive to myself and my family.

My wife was confined to bed, unable to feed herself or speak. The staff monitored her on a regular basis and assisted with feeding and all requirements. The rooms were basic, but adequate, nothing was too much trouble, I know because I was present many hours every day.

I would be happy to recommend Woodlands Macclesfield Care Home.

Thank you Reg. We really appreciate your feedback

My stepfather had been a resident at Woodlands Care Centre for twelve months following a stroke which left him in need of full-time care. The staff at the home have been tremendous both in the care given to my father and the attention to our family with difficulty of some living in Australia, therefore a different time zone. My father's health gradually failed and sadly died in their care but the attention which my father received was second to none with extremely loving care from management, carers and particularly nursing staff who took time out to visit him whilst having a spell in hospital. I can't recommend the staff highly enough.

The staff appear to be caring and very patient with the residents. Although my mum would be happier in her own home, she seems settled and realises that she is being well cared for.

Thank you, we really appreciate your comments.

The lady I knew who was in the Woodlands died in January 2016. However throughout the 2 1/2 years she was in the home she was well cared for and I had no complaints.
