All staff always friendly and happy to help during this difficult time. Mum is very happy with the care, and that's the most important thing.

My review on this great nursing home - I am looked after all-round great. I feel like I am treated like a king. When I first walked through the front doors first I was greeted by two ladies who shook my hands. When I went to the second door, four ladies greeted me and shook my hands. I was very moved.
I felt like a king. The bedding is superb. The staff look after everyone equally.

Stepfather was sent from hospital unable to do anything for himself. After 4 weeks at Wrenbury he was fit to return home. This is due to the excellent care received by all the staff. I would highly recommend Wrenbury.

My Mother was resident in Wrenbury Nursing Home for 9 1/2 months. At first, she was very unsettled but with the care and understanding of the staff, she adapted well to life in care. There is a lovely, friendly family atmosphere and all are made to feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff
no matter how busy they are, and there is always a cup of tea on offer. Special occasions are celebrated by decorating the home, red roses for Valentines Day, Easter eggs etc., fresh flowers in the entrance hall lovely. All the staff work very hard to make the residents comfortable.

I found the home to be more than adequate for my wife's needs. The staff are attentive and pleasant. The food looks very good. The home is clean and the residents' rooms are well fitted out. The care is 24-hour and I feel at ease knowing my wife is well cared for. It is deep in the countryside but easy
to get to from the motorway. Very happy.

My father has recently moved into Wrenbury Nursing Home. It was a difficult decision but on visiting the home for the first time I was impressed with the management, carers and accommodation.

Dad has settled in well and whenever I visit he is clean, well dressed and content in his own way. The carers

are wonderful and very attentive. I couldn’t ask for more.

Dad has been in several homes for short respite stays and this home is superior in every way.

I consider myself and my dad to be very lucky that a room became available just when we needed it.

I am confident that this home will continue to meet my dad’s needs in the future. Since he cannot be at home with me any longer there is no other place I would rather have him.

This is a wonderful nursing home. It is light and bright and always clean and fresh. Set in lovely tended gardens for resident to enjoy. The staff are fantastic, always make you feel welcome, I could not wish for better care for my mum.
A deciding factor when choosing here for her care was the ability
to bring my dogs in to visit her as she loves dogs. When she sees them and touches them it helps stimulate her and lifts her spirits. Mum has been a resident for 2 years at the end of February. It always feels like an extended family. The staff offer care and support to visitors as well as residents, I cannot thank them enough for the peace of mind they give me.

My mother recently passed away, having suffered from Alzheimer's for a number of years, and after three and a half years living at Wrenbury Nursing Home. I feel my mother was well cared for, and as a "fussy" person, very much attached to her home environment, she settled quickly and quietly to life
at Wrenbury. Three and a half years of calm and contentment cannot be underestimated, and this is testament to the environment created by the staff and ethos at Wrenbury. For whatever minor faults we may on occasion choose to find, Wrenbury has established a way of letting people be who they are. There was no attempt to control, or change, my mother, and this I feel contributed strongly to her levels of satisfaction. Living as I do at some distance, I cannot say how reassuring this has been. We were always kept aware of any minor issues that arose, and that is vital. I would happily recommend Wrenbury to anyone, and this echoes the sentiment of friends and family who visited mum there.

Care provided is of a caring and professional manner. Although dad has dementia he still knows that staff are kind to him and will say what a nice lass or lad a carer is when they walk into the lounge (he was born in Shropshire). The home is clean and well looked after, a refit is taking place at this
moment, putting a lot of pressure on the staff but they still continue to smile and continue to work in a professional way. I would recommend Wrenbury to anyone, the decision to put a loved one in a home is very emotive but all staff made that time as painless as possible.

My mum has been in Wrenbury Nursing Home for 4 years. She suffers from dementia and has seriously ulcerated legs when she first went in. The nursing staff have eradicated the ulcers with their careful nursing and although the dementia is no better and at times she can be quite difficult, the carers
are wonderful with her. They always have a word for her and remember the names of members of our family to engage her in conversation. I am so grateful to them for the care she receives.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.545)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.545) out of 10 for Wrenbury Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.845 for Wrenbury Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.845
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wrenbury Nursing Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
