Avoid this home if you value your belongings especially valuable items. My Mum was discharged here from hospital for end of life care, she was only there for 5 days. Shockingly in the final hours of Mum's life a member of staff removed Mum's wedding ring from her finger and stole it. The police investigated but we're unable to recover the ring or identify the culprit. The police did reveal that there has been a number of petty thefts from residents reported to them so the theft of Mum's ring wasn't a one off isolated incident.
We take any concerns regarding a resident's personal belongings with the utmost seriousness. Please be assured that we carried out a thorough internal investigation and immediately reported the incident to the police, cooperating fully with their inquiries. We deeply regret any distress caused. As...
Mum moved into Alistre lodge 14 months ago, and I have nothing but praise for this wonderful place. Every member of staff are like friends (but very professional) they are so kind, loving and thoughtful. The food is of excellent quality, and generous portions catering for likes and dislikes of the residents. Every day there are activities, such as quizi's, bingo, art, games, armchair aerobics (and many mare). Mums hair is done by a hairdresser every week. There are visiting chiropodists, audiologist, and other health services There are also trips out to the zoo etc. Alistre lodge is a welcoming loving hug, where my mum is so very happy.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. It is an absolute pleasure to care for your mum, and I will be sharing your words with the whole team.
Wow what a place it is, brilliant if ever I go into a nursing home, that's the place for me.
Thank you for this lovely review which will be shared with the whole team. It is an absolute pleasure to be able to care for your friend
When you have time to sit and watch, you notice these things. There are many activities and outings for those who wish to go. I have recommended this care home to a few people who have asked about it. Food was very good, some meals I felt were restaurant-rated. Always plenty of fruit served at lunch and on afternoon tea trolley.
It was a pleasure to have you stay with us. Thank you so much for your feedback. It will be shared around the whole team.
Cannot fault the care my father receives at Alistre Lodge.

Since my mother came to Alistre Lodge in December 2025, she has really settled in well, better than we ever imagined. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming. We have found the transition from hospital very smooth and professional.

200 words are not enough to describe this place. In comparison to my 95-year-old father in laws previous 'glitzy', new, home. Alistre was a breath of fresh air. It is an old building with narrow corridors leading to a maze of rooms, an old, slow lift takes you to the upstairs rooms with 1980 style furniture, and yet from the moment you walk in, you feel at home. Rooms are light and airy, and unlike his previous home, everyone is up, dressed, showered and in one of the lounges, sat in a favourite chair, looking smart as can be. They have the company of others, even though some may be asleep, and the staff is always around, keeping a constant eye on everyone. The manager and staff are the stars of this place; these nameless angels are the most amazing, caring men and women you can meet. I have never seen Dad look so comfortable, so at peace, and so well looked after and cared for than here. We are so thankful that we found it. We can not thank the staff enough, and with all my heart, I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I find myself extremely fortunate to have found such a wonderful caring home all the staff are so helpful, very pleased with my choice.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review. I will ensure your comments get passed onto the whole team as it is very rewarding when their hard work is recognised.
The staff are a complete joy. No matter who one asks, they know about my father, his day, the amount of food he had eaten, and his interactions with the staff and other residents.
There is a plethora of staff, which is a rarity in this field, and this investment in staff is reflected in their love of the home, working conditions and the time they give to each resident. They show an active interest in the life the residents have lived up until admission and use the information to communicate with the individual.
The home manager has built up excellent relationships with external agencies such as GP practices and transport services, ensuring immediate care where required.
I do not live locally, so their excellent caring and communication skills are very reassuring.

My Mother stayed with Alistre Lodge for 3 months before she passed. All the staff were incredibly caring, and professional and could not have done any more to have made my Mum's stay any more pleasurable. Also, the help given for funding meetings was exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend Alistre Lodge to anybody considering a loved one's placement into care. In fact we have already done this.
Thank you for your lovely review, it means so much to the whole team. Kind regards.
Our family are so pleased that Mum was able to spend her final weeks in such a lovely, happy environment.
I highly recommend Alistre Lodge.
Thank you for the lovely review; it means so much to the whole team. Kind regards.
With my Mum's complex needs, I have found that the staff and nurses monitor care and medication with great precision.
Communication re: health monitoring/indicators between family and home has been managed consistently to a very high standard.
As a family, we have built up an excellent rapport with the care staff and nurses and know my mum is in a loving, caring, and safe place. We are very happy with the standard of care my Mum receives from the wonderful, caring staff.
Meals are home-cooked and of a high standard with flexibility to meet the resident's needs.
Thank you for the lovely review; it means so much to the whole team. Kind regards.
I booked my mother in for three weeks of respite care. She had been falling regularly. In the three weeks, she received excellent care and recovered her full mobility. I was very happy with the standard of care that she received and the progress she made over what was a very short space of time.
Thank you for the lovely review; it was a pleasure to look after your mum. I will share your feedback with the whole team. Thank you.
My gran was looked after and cared for by a great team of staff. Everyone was pleasant and nothing was ever too much trouble. Your staff are a credit to your business.
Alistre Lodge is a warm, happy place for the residents and visitors. I can't praise the level of care highly enough. Residents are looked after with care and respect. Nothing is too much trouble. Love and laughter are there to see. Any questions the family may have are answered with honesty and respect. Alistre Lodge staff are lovely, everyone from the managers, care staff, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance are hardworking and friendly. Residents' rooms are lovely.
My partner was admitted to this home on the 10th of January. Although he was only here for a few short weeks before his passing I cannot praise the care he received highly enough. All staff from the management to the carers and nurses were so kind and caring. Not only were they so good with him, but during the week before his passing, they all went out of their way to look after both myself and his sister. I would like to mention some of the carers and staff that helped his last few weeks to be calm and peaceful. Nurses and all the staff. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I cannot recommend this home highly enough if you have a friend or relative needing any kind of care.
We are very grateful for your kind words. I can assure you that all our staff will be informed and praised for it. Thank you.
Looking for somewhere homely for your loved one with excellent care that treats loved ones with dignity and respect? Look no further than Alistre Lodge. My grandmother has been in the home since June 2022 following a lengthy hospital admission. Since her arrival, she has been looked after like she is part of their family. All of the staff go above and beyond to ensure every individual's needs are met and are always in good spirits. The senior staff and management have supported our family with both nursing and social care involvement and have been more than helpful when things have needed to be escalated. The nurses advocate very well for patients and have good relationships with all their residents. It is evident that staff are highly trained and skilled in their roles and are engaged in their work Grandma sends compliments to the chefs most days too and loves the home-cooked meals served daily! Thank you all.
Thank you very much. We all appreciate your kind words and the fact that you share these with everyone.
I have just attended this year's Christmas Party for the residents, their family and friends. The new manager welcomed everyone on their arrival and ensured everyone had a drink. All residents were attentively looked after by all the care home staff, who ensured they had plenty to eat and drink. There was lots of lovely food for everyone, compliments to the chief. All the staff were in good spirits and voices, as well as the residents, carol singing and party games. Well done, to everyone involved, a good afternoon was had by all.
Thank you very much for all your kind words. I will pass this on to our staff as the party would not have happened without all their hard work. I appreciate your comments as they help us to build our team and concentrate on more person-centred events in this post-Covid era. Thank you.
All staff are friendly, approachable, good-humoured and caring.
Thank you very much for your kind review. We strive to deliver the best and person-centered care for our residents. Currently, we are going through a lot of internal changes connected to the delivery of quality care and services we provide. We appreciate all reviews and kind words. Thank you.
Thank you for looking after him.
Thank you very much for your review and kind words. I will pass this on to our teams. If there is anything else I can help with, please contact me directly.
