On 3rd August 2023, Alistre Lodge had a BBQ for residents and family members. What a lovely day, and the weather was great - lots of happy people. The singer was five star. My wife and I would pay to see a great entertainer. A big thanks to the staff - a set of friendly people. My brother is in great hands with the staff

Since my mum has been there, she has received excellent care, and all the staff do what they can to help her every day. They are friendly and caring, and I don't have to worry about her being in the right place. It's always a worry when you find it impossible to be able to care properly for a loved one, but Mum has always been happy there.

My uncle was discharged from hospital to Alistre Lodge Nursing and Care Home as he was terminally ill and needed to be close to his family in the area. The staff were brilliant, caring and compassionate. They helped us choose a comfortable room for him. The communal room is light, clean and airy. The front garden and rear yard were lovely to sit outside with him. We could visit virtually whenever we wanted and nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly staff. My uncle was very complimentary about the food. Unfortunately, he only lasted two months and we were present at the end. My family all agreed that Alistre Lodge provided a really pleasant environment for him to spend his last days and are grateful to everyone that we came across at the home.

Overall Experience

My elderly mother was admitted to Alistre Lodge in November 2022 from the hospital, having broken her hip. The staff were kind to her as she was confused about her surroundings and looked after her with kindness, respect and dignity. Mum required help in every respect, ie feeding, drinking and personal care etc and this was always carried out by cheerful and caring staff. It was obvious from the outset that Mum was deemed as end of life and sadly this proved to be the case in June 2023, Apart from the care given to Mum, my husband and I were well treated and cared for by staff during our visits and after Mum's passing we will always be extremely grateful to Alistre Lodge staff (past and present) for making her last days comfortable. I would highly recommend this home.

Both in-laws came to the home, the nursing care is excellent which my mother-in-law needed, (sadly now passed). My father-in-law is very well looked after by the wonderful staff. The home is very comfortable and friendly. Anything you want to discuss with management is always answered, nothing is too much trouble. Alistre Lodge is homely and war, the staff are so friendly, caring and always professional. I can't praise everyone enough. Cleanliness is very high, the home is very well presented and maintained.

My wife's step mum has been in Alistre Lodge Nursing & Care Home for about 7-8 weeks and I've visited her for 5 to 6 days each week. Her care is just brilliant and I can't praise the manager and her staff highly enough. The carers have a great working relationship with each other and it shows in the standard of the care they provide. Even during Covid-19 lockdowns, the care given was incredible and close family members were given the opportunity to say their goodbyes. I can only say thank you to all of them.

Review from Jane F (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 November 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother moved to Alistre Lodge in August 2018. Her mobility had deteriorated and she needed more care than her residential home was able to provide. I was concerned about the move as she had taken a while to settle in the residential home and this would be yet another confusing upheaval in her life (she also has mild Alzheimers). I needn't have worried - within days she had chosen her preferred lounge (of which there are several) and chair and was telling me how nice the staff are!

Alistre Lodge provides excellent care for my mother, a welcoming atmosphere and is also very supportive to me.
