All the staff showed such care and compassion to my mum at the end of her life and towards us as a family. I greatly appreciate that she got to spend her last days here.
Mum's room looked out onto the beautiful surrounding greenery, which was calming and what she would have chosen if she could.
I
felt confident in the care provided and comforted knowing mum was in good hands.

Mum has settled in here at Euxton Park really well. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and assist her with any needs she may have. Mum enjoys the activities and joins in most days. I would recommend Euxton Park to anyone who has similar needs to Mum.

I highly recommend it as the staff are lovely and always do their best at taking care of all their resident's needs. My father's stay so far has been wonderful, apart from him being upset about being away from home.

A business or care home is only as good as the staff. On my many visits over a three week period, I have found the staff exceeding my expectations. Professional, caring, very friendly and my mother also feels the same! The facility is in beautiful grounds and is very fit for purpose and well looked
after. Couldn't be happier. Thank you.

My mum has recently experienced some very upsetting days with my Dad as his Alzheimer’s has progressed, whilst he has been looked after and cared for brilliantly by the Euxton staff, it is the attention and care given to my mum that I particularly want to call out. She has been looked after in an extremely
kind and caring way by all members of the Euxton Park team, and not just the nursing staff, but also the wider team such as the laundry team. Mum has been so touched by their kindness and especially for taking the time to sit with her, make her a cup of tea and help her to compose herself.

I am only a temporary resident but I am enjoying my stay at Euxton Park Care Home and I was made to feel welcome from day one. The staff are friendly, care about the residents and are always happy to help if I need them to do so. My room is warm and kept clean and my clothes and bedding changed regularly.
The food is delicious, varied and is prepared and cooked at the home by the caters. The activities team gently encourage everyone to take part in the daily activities but it's not a problem if you don't want to join in, ok if you just want to watch. I enjoy joining in and so does my son when he visits. We are both extremely happy with the care I receive at Euxton Park.

Since I became a resident two years ago there has been a significant increase in the number of high-dependency dementia residents, which take up a lot of carers' time. This has led to a decrease in time that the carers have to spend meeting the needs of residents. This is not in any way the fault of
the carers themselves, but there is a definite need to recruit more permanent staff in order for them to be able to meet residents' needs in a safe way, as people's lives are at risk and affected. Although the attention buzzers volume has been reduced, they need to be reduced further as they continually sound away and are stressful and cause anxiety.

My mother has been in Euxton Park for the last two weeks, after being discharged from hospital after a fall at home. She is very happy here, everyone is lovely and caring. It's a very clean, light and airy place, with plenty of activities. I would hope that if my mother has to stay in a home, that she
can stay here. The meals are all handmade and she says they are tasty.

My wife has been here for 8 years she has been well looked after and is happy and relatively content. Unfortunately in December/January this year a number of regular staff left and have been replaced by agency staff. Whilst not here the majority of the staff have been good. Everything is about people.
They decide the success or failure of any organisation. The staff knowing the residents is, in my opinion, all important. Hopefully, the new manager will be able to get full-time staff in the near future. Finding and recognising good people is not easy but is very important to continue good quality care.

Mum was a resident in the Nursing Unit from June 2021 to August 2021. Sadly mum passed away on 28th August 2021. I want to thank all the staff for their care and support during her stay, mum was aware of her diagnosis and the staff were brilliant at helping her come to terms with the illness. I particularly
want to thank the Regional Manager who went above and beyond to help mum (and myself) when she was upset and her condition deteriorated. End-of-life care was exceptional. Thank you.

Cleanliness of room and carpet. Activities not obvious. Clothing gone missing and not looked after. Personal fan gone missing, then been replaced with old rusty and dirty one (different brand). Cleanliness of nails (dirty and long).
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Euxton Park Care Home

Thank you, John, for your comments about Euxton Park. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to our residents, so we are disappointed to hear that you feel this is not the case in some areas.
Our Magic Moments Together activities programme includes lots of stimulating and different activities reflective of personal interests, likes and dislikes. The aim of the programme is to help our residents to love every day and is varied to provide interest for mind, body and soul. It includes one-to-one, group and community-based activities. Understandably, not every resident wants to participate in every activity, and our team will encourage participation, but respect resident’s wishes if they do not want to join in.
We are very sorry to hear of the other concerns that you have raised and would welcome the opportunity to discuss these in more detail. Please reach out to us at the home to arrange a meeting. Thank you again.

Current Review Score: 7.8 (7.829)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.8 (7.829) out of 10 for Euxton Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.545 for Euxton Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.545
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.284 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Euxton Park Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.159
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
