  • Care Homes Owned by Century Healthcare Ltd
With a number of care homes located across the north of England, Century Healthcare have become one of the leading providers for healthcare since their establishment in 1998.

All sites offer residential care for a range of differing needs including care for dementia, physical disabilities, elderly care and care for young adults too. Some homes also offer nursing care, specialising in care for residents who require additional medical support.

Century Healthcare are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to all residents. They understand that the move to a care home can be difficult, for both the individual and their loved ones, and they aim to make this process as easy as it can be by promising care that maintains safety, independence, and offers the best lifestyle for the individual. To do this, they work closely with families and health professionals, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists, building a picture of the resident and their needs so that care packages are completely bespoke. Care plans are regularly reviewed so that care is consistently reliable and flexible too.

The team of experienced care professionals work hard to keep residents stimulated and engaged, making sure that each home is a happy place to be. There is an activities coordinator at each site who plans purposeful and fun activities for the residents, focusing on both mental and physical health.

The Century Healthcare team is made up of only the most dedicated and experienced people. All staff are qualified to at least NVQ level, and are encouraged to undergo regular training so that they are always improving their practice and delivering the best possible care. This ensures that everybody who wants to join the Century Healthcare family can do so with confidence, knowing that they, or their loved one, will be in the best hands.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The care my mum received in her time at the Priory was excellent. All the team were truly caring not only to Mum but to the family as well. My mum died peacefully in the home surrounded by her loved ones. I cannot thank them enough for what they do. The only negative I would have is the rather pushy
invoicing. I had an invoice dated 29.09. 25 pay within 14 days. Paid invoice on 07.10.25 then received an immediate payment required in red stamp dated 07.10.25. Certainly not 14 days later and very insensitive. Not the care homes fault.

I liken myself as a mother tiger with her cub as far as my husband was concerned at first terrifed as to what was to come. However my fears rested quickly as I became aware of the caring and loving way everyone was being treated. His stay was short but I thank each and every one of you from the bottom
of my heart, take care and God bless all of you always.

Can't praise this home and staff enough. Manager Julie is always on hand to chat if you need anything. Quarterdeck staff are all amazing, friendly, helpful and very attentive with the residents. The care they provide is second to none even if the residents needs can sometimes be challenging. I think
it takes a special person to work in a care/nursing home, Mary Rose Manor have lots of those special people. Thank you all for all your kindness and support.

Both my parents are residents at Ambleside Bank and both are cared for really well and with dignity and compassion. Dad took a while to settle but staff went above and beyond in taking time our of their busy day to pop in at regular intervals for a chat and make sure he was ok. He is now much better.
Mum enjoys a chat and little giggle with staff, who she 'loves'. It's comforting to know they are well looked after.

New Thursby Nursing Home

from Christine C (Sister of Resident) published on 26 September 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We are so fortunate to have found the New Thursby Nursing Home. My sister is very well cared for, and anything she needs is provided. The Matron or Deputy Matron will talk to us and sort things out immediately if we need them. Their leadership is excellent, very understanding and caring and this is
reflected in their staff and their approach. They have a cohesive hard-working team with high standards and ongoing training, and there are no agency staff, which is so important. An achievement in itself.
All of the staff fulfil their duties with a smile on their face. My sister (and the other residents as well) are treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care. My sister is very much treated as an individual, the staff talk to her and listen to her as well.
The activities are amazing, and the co-ordinator brings a joy and lightness to the day!
I thoroughly recommend the New Thursby, and have done done so in the past.

My mother in law moved in to Ambleside around three months ago, we tried to care for her for as long as possible at home until we felt we could no longer it was becoming unsafe, this was the best decision as a family we made!
My mother in law loves living in this little safe haven, the manageress
& deputy assessed my mother in law in hospital and made her feel at ease instantly, they explained everything and made sure everything was right for her and us as a family.
The care and empathy the staff show is second to none, staff are always happy and smiling and are helpful when we visit. My Mother in law loves living at Ambleside, she said she wishes she had made the move years ago.
The activities and entertainment are fantastic, she has a new lease of life and it's so nice to see her so happy and content, as a family this is all we can ask for.
The home is spotlessly clean and has such a warming friendly atmosphere.

Thankyou and keep up the great work you all do!
Many thanks
