My nan has come on loads at this care home. Debbie and the team have looked after her well, and I'm forever grateful. Nan had lost weight and was deteriorating at the last care home that she was at, I'm so glad the family put her at Euxton hall there's so much better quality of care for nan. Thanks
to the team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father was transferred to Mary Rose Manor for palliative care from hospital . His pain was managed with extreme care, sensitivity and success. It was managed much better here than in hospital where he was in pain at times. The staff were unfailingly kind, welcoming and couldn't do enough for dad
and the rest of the family. We had absolute confidence in the staff and felt no qualms in leaving dad with them. The rooms are spacious, clean and cheerful. The deputy manager kept us up to date and explained every aspect of dad's care to us with great patience. If I needed end of life care then I would want to be at Mary Rose Manor. They had a very good understanding of dad's needs and treated him with respect. They understood that although his short-term memory was very poor, he was able to make his own decisions.

Maureen experienced caring, compassionate care during her stay at Priory Court. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times. The staff were very patient and good-humoured. Everyone was always pleasant and good-humoured. Everyone was always pleasant and helpful. The matron and deputy matron
were always available to answer questions. The home was always very clean, Maureen enjoyed the food and took advantage of the on-site hairdressing and foot care. There were activities available all year. The atmosphere was calm and we appreciate all you do.

My son stayed at Mary Rose Manor for end-of-life care. I can honestly say that the care given to Carl was exemplary. He was treated with respect and dignity. Staff went beyond my expectations to care for his every need. They showed compassion and empathy. The home made the experience as good as it could
be possible be. It was a very difficult time for us, and the staff made all of the family feel welcome, and we could visit 24 hours if required. I would definitely recommend this nursing home 5*.

I am so incredibly grateful to every single member of the team here for the care that they have provided for my mum. They are kind, patient and have allowed her to maintain her dignity wherever possible. Her meals are tailored so that she is presented with foods she is likely to eat, and the staff regularly
bring her a range of drinks and snacks to try and tempt her into eating. Thank you so much!

New Thursby Nursing Home

from Hilary S (Cousin of Resident) published on 27 January 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The new Thursby staff are a shining example of faultless, caring and diligent people. They create a haven of peace and safety. Residents' needs are absolutely paramount in the day-to-day routines. My cousin was treated with the greatest care and respect, but also in a jolly and positive manner. The
whole ethos of New Thursby gave me total peace of mind, and the support I myself received during her stay was incredible. Their attention to detail and tailoring their actions to her needs was meticulously planned and executed. Along with exceptional staff led by an extremely conscientious Matron/Manager, the building and bedrooms etc are beautifully maintained to a very high standard. Every single member of staff was courteous and welcoming, and I cannot recommend the New Thursby highly enough. I remain deeply indebted and very grateful to each and every one there.
Reply from S. Stefan, Manager at New Thursby Nursing HomeDear Hilary,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and generous message. Your words truly mean a great deal to us.

Providing a safe, respectful, and genuinely caring environment for our residents and their families is always our highest priority, so your feedback is especially meaningful.
Your appreciation of the staff and the environment we strive to maintain will be shared with the whole team, they will be genuinely touched by your kindness and gratitude.

My Dear Mother was transferred to Priory Court from a particularly torrid 3 month stay in Blackpool Victoria Hospital, for what turned out to be end of life care.
The staff looked after her well, and were extremely sympathetic to her needs, and supportive to myself. In particular, Matron Andrea, Deputy
Manager Helena, Nurse Stephanie and Care Assistant Boney were excellent. Thanks to the team. I would recommend Priory Court to anyone requiring 24 hour nursing care in a homely environment.

Entrusting the care of someone you love to strangers is a very stressful and difficult decision to make.
Fate smiled on us when a place became available for mum to be cared for at the New Thursby Nursing Home. The staff without exception were genuinely kind, compassionate & caring. Their nursing
care excellent with such attention to detail when tending mum's needs & personal care.
It is a pleasure, as a nurse of 40yrs, to say our experience with mum was beyond expectations. As a family we felt included and supported in decision making and through what was a very challenging time emotionally, were supported & cared for by ALL the staff from management to the reception & domestic staff.
Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Thankyou so much

Mum came to stay at New Thursby after a 2nd stroke and dementia left her needing 24 hour care and she was very well looked after throughout her stay here.
All staff (carers, housekeeping, admin etc) are friendly, kind, caring and supportive. They cover for each other to provide continuity of care
(therefore avoiding the need for agency staff) which is so important for residents. The home was always clean and tidy. Facilities are good, including 2 lounges, lovely dining room, hair salon and patio/garden areas. There is also a good activity/entertainment programme and outings arranged regularly. I would definitely recommend this nursing home.
