Staff may need a little bit more training on posiitioning and support of my husband's left arm, hand and shoulder because of several strokes which has rendered him completely dependant. His bedroom, which he shares with another gentleman, could do with decorating and updating. TVs should be standard
in bedrooms.
Reply from Kathy Spencer, Matron at Gillibrand Hall Nursing HomeThere is a on going programme of continual re decoration, though i will pass your comments onto senior management. After 9 months of caring for your husband i feel staff are experts in positioning his arm to make him comfortable however should you find this is not the case please do not hesitate to speak to one of the staff and we shall attend to it immediately.

I was quite anxious leaving my husband for a two week respite care never having done this before but I needn't have worried. Everything was first class all his needs catered for, caring staff what more could I have asked for. A big thank you to Gillibrand Hall, well done. Thank you for the care would
have no hesitation in using you again.

From the moment we stepped into Euxton Park the staff were exceptional. The needs of my father were met whatever that may have been. The were very courteous and accommodating and he was treated with respect and dignity. The cleanliness and quality of the home is second to none. The manager Debbie has
high standards and this is reflected in her staff. I have had experience of care homes in the past and couldn't find anything negative to say about Euxton Park. One last thing, the grounds are amazing!!!

This is Mum's second visit. She had a very nasty slip 20 months ago, breaking both arms in multiple places and knee cap, but she walked out of Euxton Park Care Home after her fantastic care there. Sadly, she has recently broken her hip and shattered her arm. After the hospital trauma visit mum would
not go anywhere else for her recovery. At 88, Mum is a very proud lady set in her ways, but the lovely carers were and still are phenomenal at looking out for her, having fun, being respectful, even with so much to do, they all welcomed mum back with open arms. The care given to all residents/clients is absolutely excellent. A little saying I have come across puts it in perspective. "Nothing beats kindness, it sits quietly beyond all things" Mealtimes obviously are a lot busier for carers, but they always try to accommodate ASAP. Personally, our family have had nothing but exceptional service from people who actually care. From the manager all the way through, carers, nurses, kitchen staff, cleaners, workers, and everyone in between. If asked to help in different ways due to mum's circumstances, they continue to excel 100%.

The care home has a very friendly atmosphere with excellent staff and carers. My mother suffers from dementia and so requires encouragement to take part in activities which she enjoys, and appreciates once she gets involved. She does enjoy being in groups and taking part in the activities, but does
need encouragement to take part. The staff are friendly and considerate to her at all times.

I cannot thanks all of the staff enough for the way they look after Mum.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always happy, smiling and helpful to her and her relatives.
If we have any questions, they always have time to help and the food the restaurant provides is great quality and
tailored to mum's tastes.
Thanks again for making her time here so calm.
Reply from Kay Rigby, Manager at Ambleside BankMany Thanks for your kind words. We are pleased to hear that your mum, yourself and your family are happy with everything at Ambleside bank. Your positive review means a lot to us. Thank you.

I have been a resident here for almost a year and have found the management and carers very kind, efficient and thoughtful for my health. Visitors have been struck by the friendly reception, the cleanliness and pleasant appearance of the home. My health has improved due to a hospital diet being observed
by the catering. Activities and exercise are enjoyable and useful.
Reply from Kay Rigby, Manager at Ambleside BankMany Thanks for your kind words. We are very happy to know that you are enjoying the facilities and your health has improved as we always strive to make sure all of our residents are well looked after in every aspect of their daily lifestyles. Thank you again and for being a great resident here at Ambleside Bank.

Following our mum's death, dad came to live with us and after a lengthy stay in hospital it was apparent that anyone can look after your loved one as well as yourself but I was wrong - Dad is cared for with support, compassion and dignity. The staff make sure he is clean, smart and warm - nothing is
too much trouble. If he was still living with us he wouldn't have the company or stimulation from the outings or activities or indeed the company of the other residents or the patient kind hearted staff.

Mum has been in Euxton Park Care Home for 3 years now, and although mum's condition has deteriorated we feel she has always been well cared for. All the staff are lovely with her. Mum can't join in with the activities anymore, but still enjoys the company when the staff go to her room to read newspapers
for her, and they are all happy and upbeat with her, which brings a smile to her face.

I have been a resident here for just 2 yrs. In that time I can honestly say I have been happy with the care I have received. There have been only 1 or 2 issues which were promptly addressed and dealt with satisfactorily. All in all I would be happy to recommend Gillibrand Hall if asked.

My brother is well looked after at Gillibrand. He is happy with the food and drinks. He is a man of few works but enjoys the trips out and watching TV. The staff are very attentive and aware of his needs. I visit him each week and he seems happy with his care. I am always informed by staff if he has
any health or other problems.

Just thought I would write a few words regarding my wife Dorothy's stay in Ambleside Bank. I spend over 4 hours a day in the home. The environment is 1st class, each person has different problems and are cared for their individual needs. It is very clean, food is to a good standard. It's comforting
to know that Dorothy is so well looked after.
Reply from Kay Rigby, Manager at Ambleside BankThank you so much for your kind review this truly means a lot to us, as do Dorothy and all her family. It is a pleasure to care for Dorothy and make sure she is comfortable and happy here with us at Ambleside Bank. Thanks again from us all here.

My Nan was moved from another care home which had been providing sub-par service. At Euxton Park she is thriving, she has regained some weight, has her hair and nails done (which she always loved), she is stimulated in her environment and well taken care of by the whole team.
The manager and staff
always greet us when we visit and more importantly engage with my Nan on a daily basis. She always has a smile for Debbie.
We are so glad she made the move.

The nursing home is an amazing place. My Dad spent 4 months in there before he passed away in June 2026. The carers were brilliant and always did their very best for Dad. The nursing was exceptional too. He always had clean clothes. The Activity Coordinators were good fun. He managed to go to a few
activities which he really enjoyed. The home is so clean and tidy. If I could give it 6 stars out of 5 I would have done. Debbie you have a truly amazing team. Thank you for everything.
Reply from Debbie Lewis, Manager at Euxton Park Care HomeThank you Julie for your wonderful feedback. All of us were inspired by your Dad, he was a wonderful character, full of spirit and motivation. He touched many peoples hearts and he brought a smile to everyone's face with his wonderful sense of humour. A truly wonderful man. We are all so grateful for your kind words and we wish you all the very best in the future. Thank you for trusting us.
