Entrusting the care of someone you love to strangers is a very stressful and difficult decision to make.
Fate smiled on us when a place became available for mum to be cared for at the New Thursby Nursing Home. The staff without exception were genuinely kind, compassionate & caring. Their nursing
care excellent with such attention to detail when tending mum's needs & personal care.
It is a pleasure, as a nurse of 40yrs, to say our experience with mum was beyond expectations. As a family we felt included and supported in decision making and through what was a very challenging time emotionally, were supported & cared for by ALL the staff from management to the reception & domestic staff.
Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Mum came to stay at New Thursby after a 2nd stroke and dementia left her needing 24 hour care and she was very well looked after throughout her stay here.
All staff (carers, housekeeping, admin etc) are friendly, kind, caring and supportive. They cover for each other to provide continuity of care
(therefore avoiding the need for agency staff) which is so important for residents. The home was always clean and tidy. Facilities are good, including 2 lounges, lovely dining room, hair salon and patio/garden areas. There is also a good activity/entertainment programme and outings arranged regularly. I would definitely recommend this nursing home.

From the moment my mother-in-law came to the New Thursby the care she received was excellent. All the staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The management are also excellent always there to help with any questions. A hard time was made easier with their care and compassion. I would have
no hesitation recommending this care home.

i have been very impressed with the care provided. New Thursby operate with care and compassion and are always looking for ways to improve. the facilities are very good with a communal lounge and large tv for all residents to enjoy. there are seperate areas boasting a nice courtyard/garden which the
residents can enjoy.
i would have no hesitation in recommending to friends.

We are so fortunate to have found the New Thursby Nursing Home. My sister is very well cared for, and anything she needs is provided. The Matron or Deputy Matron will talk to us and sort things out immediately if we need them. Their leadership is excellent, very understanding and caring and this is
reflected in their staff and their approach. They have a cohesive hard-working team with high standards and ongoing training, and there are no agency staff, which is so important. An achievement in itself.
All of the staff fulfil their duties with a smile on their face. My sister (and the other residents as well) are treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care. My sister is very much treated as an individual, the staff talk to her and listen to her as well.
The activities are amazing, and the co-ordinator brings a joy and lightness to the day!
I thoroughly recommend the New Thursby, and have done done so in the past.

My family and I are very impressed throughout with the New Thursby Nurisng Home, St Anne's, Lancs, including the all important onboarding.
Attractive, highly considerate and competitive initial contracting, including an initial trial.
Being a purpose built and fairly compact nursing home with excellent
and tasteful furnishings and fittings, in what is an exceptionally pleasant location and happy environment for patients, staff and visitors alike.
Excellent communications, initiative and integrity with the home's Management, along with the Clinical Lead, Nursing and Care staff in face to face in person conversations, telephone and in quick and responsive emails. Great that there are Administrative staff to assist here too. The Entertainments Manageress is fun, energetic, creative and readily engages visitors too with her warm welcome.
I find it very reassuring for there to be a local St Anne's-On-The-Sea head office and all the high calibre that is bringing in various respects.

Many thanks to the Manager, Deputy Manager and all the staff at New Thursby Nursing Home for their care and kindness for my aunt whilst she was resident at their care home. Sadly, her stay was short due to her terminal illness, but we couldn't have asked for any better support and nursing care through
her end-of-life care and we always felt that she was in safe hands. Communication and friendliness of the staff was exceptional, as it was with the GP services through the home if needed. The manager came to visit her prior to her stay and then to her funeral. The level of care to the end was exceptional.

My mother moved into New Thursby recently. She was hesitant at first as I had been her primary carer for 3 years but she has settled in nicely. Mum told me the staff are helpful and that the home is "nice and warm" and most importantly she feels safe there. My mum always had a nervous disposition so
knowing that she's safe and cared for is a great relief. Manager is very personable right from my mum's initial assessment/our first meeting. I have yet to learn all the names but the other staff I've spoken to the most would be a particular nurse - very helpful too. My mum's room is always clean and we were encouraged from the start to bring in her own furniture/décor to make it feel homely - however she wanted. I cannot comment on meals as mealtimes are protected but my mum always seems content. There are activities most weekdays including trips out which are updated weekly on the Activities board outside the main lounge. Residents are free to join in as much or as little as they please.

My father and I continue to be delighted with the level of care that is being provided for my mother. All staff go the extra mile to meet her every need. New Thursby has a lovely homely atmosphere and the staff are welcoming, and friendly and it is evident that they do really 'care' about their residents.
We
know when we are not visiting Mum is looked after to the highest of standards.

My Godmother has been in the New Thursby Nursing Home for two years now. I have LPA and am the primary contact as her only daughter lives in the USA. I have never had any reason to complain about anything at the home. The staff are all friendly and attentive. Cleanliness and general decor are excellent.
Ongoing medical care is first-rate given issues with short-term memory loss. I can't comment on the food but my Godmother has gained weight and has a much improved complexion.

I have found the care and attention of my father-in-law to be outstanding. In difficult circumstances, I felt reassured that he would be taken care of very well in a welcoming environment and very friendly and informed staff. My mother has been in the New Thursby Care Home now a few weeks. It's a difficult decision and transition for any family but the home has been nothing but caring and considerate to help this journey. Mum is very well looked after and the staff are really helpful and attentive to my mum's needs. The
manager of the home has been very understanding and shows great empathy with my mum, thank you. The lady who does the craft activities encourages my mum to get involved, and I feel comforted that she is being encouraged. Every time I call the staff are friendly (I am not local) and they let me know how Mum is getting on and raise any concerns. It's a difficult time for the family and this has helped knowing that mum is in safe hands.

The New Thursby is bright, clean, warm and welcoming. My mother-in-law has been in approx 4 weeks and I can’t fault the care she has received from the staff. The manager and all staff are friendly approachable and answer any questions you have and take the time to get to know the residents as well
as their family. They keep the family up to date with any developments as they happen. They encourage my mother-in-law to socialise with other residents and activities and treat her with compassion during her irritability and emotional episodes. They have helped the transition from home to a nursing home easier for the family to deal with during a distressing time knowing she has all her needs met in a safe and secure environment.

It is my mother's second week in the care home, she has settled in well I believe, her carers are patient with her as she is elderly and confused. She enjoys the choice of food and finds it tasty and filling. Overall she is happy, warm and comfortable. I have had several conversations with both management
and staff and am satisfied that they have my mother's care and support as a priority. Her room is clean and brightly decorated. She appears to be treated with dignity. I am very satisfied with this care home.
