Following a stroke Jan 2026, Mum had very little support from the NHS. Thankfully Freckleton Lodge filled that void and Mum recovered quite well with her mobility and speech. Which having worked on a stroke unit myself, fully appreciate the hard work carried out by all the care staff
So a huge THANK
YOU

For the last 3 years, Mum has received the best care possible. Management and staff all treat her with respect and professionalism. They contact me if and when any problems arise, and are always easy to get hold of. The food is of high quality and plenty of choices. Always activities to suit each individual,
and the activity coordinator goes out of her way to make each day enjoyable. Overall, I found that all the staff are excellent and that they make a great team.

Mum has been a resident for 2 years. She is very happy, safe and well looked after. The staff are kind, caring and friendly, and Mum is treated with respect, dignity and compassion. The management team are approachable, and the home is very well run. I am always kept informed of any issues/concerns.
Mum's room and all the communal areas are always clean and spotless. There are plenty of activities which mum enjoys. There is a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and a great sense of community in the home. I have no hesitation in recommending Freckleton Lodge.

Mum is very happy in Freckleton Lodge. She receives excellent care. The staff are caring and professional, under a strong leadership team. The home keeps us informed of any changes in mum's condition and updates us of the outcomes. Mum enjoys the food, and it is lovely that Dad can have meals with her
as well. Mum enjoys all the activities and is made to feel part of the Freckleton Lodge family.

The care and support the team provides to residents is fantastic. Given the range of residents' needs, they ensure each is catered for. They are constantly trying different activities and engagement ideas and clearly care. My dad has had a difficult year, but staff have had his best interests at heart
all the time. I feel that I made the right choice when placing dad at the home, and I looked at a lot.

We didn't have much experience of care homes when Mum took up residence 3 years ago, but we have been pleasantly surprised at how light and airy the home is.
All the staff are welcoming and friendly and always give you the time if you have any concerns or queries. We can't speak highly enough about
the activities available for the residents to take part in. There's something for everyone, and the entertainers that come in are enjoyed by the residents and their families alike. All in all, the home comes across as a happy plave with lots of laughter.

Excellent support from the manager following accidental breakage of Mum's TU - whilst using the hoist. Fantastic team of carers.
When I visited Mum on 6/1, she clearly had a UTI. Considering Mum's recent hospital stays, the manager ensured Dr visit same day after it had failed to be acted on previous
day when reported by two carers.

I cannot recommend Freckleton lodge enough the care, kindness, dignity, warmth & safety afforded to my mum is outstanding in my view. The residents are always seen clean & tidy as are the facilities. I never thought I could trust a care home to care for my mum, but now I can. I would like to thank
all the staff who make Freckleton lodge feel like a "home" and not just a care home . The staff are lovley always seen engaging with all residents, encouraging their individual personalities to be seen which is a pricesless quality.

After visiting many care homes I was fortunate to secure a place for my mum. She is in her twilight years with dementia so I had to feel confident she could be cared for in the same way that I had cared for her. I need not have worried! From the Manager at its helm and down through the team, everyone
is polite, thoughtful, caring and conscientious. When visiting mum, the carers are knowledgeable about her and share information, good or bad which is so comforting. Menus on the wall show me what meals are served and the cleanliness is second to none. Our loved ones are entertained with professional singers etc and crafts are encouraged. Imagine my delight at seeing mum paint an Easter egg for the care home decoration. I feel truly supported in a way that I never imagined and am so grateful. Well done to all at the Lodge.

My Mum took a room at the Lodge at the end of December 2023. She has settled in wonderfully and always comments on how nice and caring the staff are towards her. I have always found the staff to be excellent and help in any way they can. It is such a joy to have Mum looked after so well.

For me, this is the best dementia care home in the area by a distance. As soon as you walk in you can feel the happy atmosphere and the way the home is decorated stands it apart from others I’ve seen. The staff are fantastic and really care about each and every resident, and they go out of their way
to ensure that their needs are met. There are lots of activities going on all year round and the imagination of the owners in terms of the variety of what they organise is fantastic.

Freckleton Lodge is the most wonderful care home. They took such wonderful care of my mum who had Alzheimer's, they gave her over 2 years of care and love. My mum lived at Freckleton Lodge for 2 and a half years.
The staff were always very friendly and polite. This, along with the cleanliness of the home, made Freckleton Lodge a nice place to visit.
Mum was cared for in the best way. Freckleton Lodge aided her to feel safe and secure, relaxed and happy.
Mum spent her last days at Freckleton Lodge. The support from the care home was absolutely brilliant. They were so supportive to mum and ensured all of her needs were met. They also provided an unmeasurable amount of support to me and my brother at such a sad time.
I have recommended this care home to friend and family for their loved ones.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.449)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.449) out of 10 for Freckleton Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.674 for Freckleton Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 132 Ratings = 4.674
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Freckleton Lodge is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
