The home has a large lounge on the ground floor, which has a beautiful large bay window from which the residents can relax and enjoy the views of the garden and watch the passers-by. The home has a large spacious dining room on the ground floor which is tastefully decorated. Both rooms have an original fireplace and a feature coal effect fire which gives the room a traditional cosy feel.
The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Residents can bring personal items and small items of furniture to personalise the bedroom. The home has both a shower and a bath, which are fitted with facilities to make them suitable for those residents with mobility difficulties. All bedrooms are easily accessible via the four-person passenger lift.
A choice of menu is available at each meal. Special diets can be catered for. Each meal is freshly prepared using only the finest ingredients. The menu is both wholesome and varied, providing a well-balanced diet.
There is a beautiful secure garden at the front of the home which provides a safe place for the residents to enjoy. There is also a secure decked area, furnished with table and chairs, where during the summer months, the residents can enjoy the sunshine and the breath-taking sea air. The decking can be easily accessed from the dining room.
The team use a digital care planning tool to create person centred care plans for each resident.
A varied activities programme is provided including regular entertainers, trips out and crafts. The home provides person-centred activities that are tailored to each individual resident.

Mum became a resident after being placed there by social services, following a fall and from day 1, the staff have been outstanding in the personal care shown to Mum. We are kept fully informed on how she is getting on and always made to feel welcome on our visits. She couldn't be in a better place.

Is very good and nice staff to talk to and does excellent care needed to be done. They are very supportive to me and play activities and get us involved in lot more stuff. Where the care home is they nice area and the local church is good for me.

When I have visited my cousin I have been welcomed by the staff with a smile. They are all very pleasant and the management are always helpful. What I am impressed with is the cleanliness and the caring way the staff treat the residents.

Reasonable accommodation and well-trained and attentive staff. Any problems are quickly addressed, and wherever sorted out for the residents. The home is clean and well looked after and changes made to keep it up-to-date and pleasant for both residents, their families and others who may visit them.

My Dad is a resident here and has been for years. He has a condition called Korsakoff syndrome, which is a chronic memory disorder caused by a severe deficiency of thiamine (vitamin B-1). He does remember his family and is very familiar with the staff at his residence. He is happy and his confidence has progressed over the years, coming out of his room and joining in games and socialising more and more. We, the family can talk to the staff at any time, we communicate very well at regular intervals. We are very happy. The staff are amazing at Headroomgate Care Home. Well done to all the staff.
The recent covid-19 has been a real worry...
The recent covid-19 has been a real worry and concern for her wellbeing. The staff have used PPE at the expense of the home and any deaths within the home have been as a result of the government's failure to provide covid testing for residents and staff. The staff have been heroic during a very difficult time. My aunty has a major birthday coming up shortly and I am confident that she will love to see it as a result of the sacrifices made by staff and fellow residents. A caring home which I can fully recommend.
