The Manse Care

This nursing home is truly special.

My mother is a resident of The Manse Care and she is very happy and content. The staff are always helpful and smiling which gives a very relaxing atmosphere. Mum has complex medical issues which receive good attention from the resident medical staff. Overall, we are pleased with our choice of nursing home.

All of the staff are courteous and helpful, including management, admin staff, nurses and support staff (kitchens etc). I am very pleased and at total ease with my friend's treatment and nursing care.

All the staff were extremely helpful, caring and sincere. I couldn't have asked for better care for both my mum and dad. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was well-presented. I was always met with a smile.

However, for us, as a family, it is the wonderful staff who go out of their way for all the residents that really put care into this care home and it is so very much appreciated.

The care my late husband received at The Manse was second to none. All the staff were kind, respectful, caring and professional to both my husband and myself. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The home was clean and comfortable and the food was good. I would definitely recommend The Manse to anyone who needs nursing care. Thank you.

My brother was admitted to the Manse care home in Kirkham in early September 2022, at this stage he was very poorly. He was warmly welcomed into the Manse family. He has been very well cared for by all the wonderful staff, nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone. The meals are really nice and a nice varied choice throughout the week. Yesterday, he returned to his home, much improved and that is all due to the wonderful care he has received during his stay. I can highly recommend them to look after your loved ones. Thank you once again we will miss you all.

I'm more than happy to provide positive feedback on The Manse. Mum was brought in as an emergency admission approximately six months ago and wasn't expected to live beyond a week. The fact that I'm writing this shows that she is still here and although it is a number of miles from where I live, I'm happy for her to stay. The staff have been kindness itself and the care and consideration given to both Mum and myself cannot be faulted. I've spoken with one member of staff on a number of occasions and he has shown that his role here means more to him than just a job. The programme of works to update the decor has made the home look brighter and more modern. The ambience when you come through the door is one of a calm home-from-home. At what has been an incredibly stressful time for the family, the home has provided the assurance I needed to know that Mum is being well cared for and enjoys her interaction with the staff.

My father is enjoying his stay at The Manse. He is happy with the level of care and assistance offered by the staff and the freedom he is afforded. The food is very good and the staff are very friendly. I cannot praise the home enough. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a residence for their loved one in their later years.

My mother spent a few weeks in The Manse on discharge from the hospital. They were very responsive to her needs and kind in their dealings with her. And she greatly enjoyed the food! It was my first time having to find care for a relative and the management staff were very helpful in their dealings with me too.

I have been asked to review the Manse by the staff and am only too glad to do so. Firstly, my Father has only good words to say about the home. Every time I have visited over the last three months words like "it's brilliant you couldn't get anywhere better" come to mind. We have shown him other places he could stay and he again states you couldn't get better than here. My experience of the staff is that they are friendly and knowledgeable and the premises are clean and tidy. I have heard no bad reports about the food and my Father says it is very good. He enjoys banter with the staff who are only too eager to engage in conversation with him and assist him with any needs he may have. The staff seem to work very well together and look like a happy team but the main thing is my Father is very content and seems to be thriving at The Manse.

My wife is seldom ready at the time we have asked to take her out. On one occasion we missed the hospital appointment because we had to wait too long. Although the pick-up time has been put in the diary, staff are often surprised we have arrived. She is vegetarian and picky so meals are difficult, kitchen staff try but it’s not easy. Overall, I would assess The Manse to be of a good standard but it was better in earlier years.

Mum never wanted to go into a home but eventually had to. The Manse was our first choice, having looked around the area and luckily they had a room free. Mum is really happy living there, supported and very well looked after. Mum was always a good cook and expects good food. The kitchen team do a great job and the chef spoke to Mum about what she'd like and could manage, as her ability to swallow deteriorated. I even ate a bit of her quiche one day to test it because it looked so nice, just as good as mine! The whole team do a great job and we are so grateful for the care they take with our mum.

In general, the staff are kind, helpful and efficient. On occasions when I have left a telephone message, trying to contact the Nursing home by the answer machine, I have often not received a reply to my messages. It was lovely to meet for the celebration of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It was helpful, when we met last week and spoke to you. Although I have not yet seen the remedial work to my mother's room, thank you for setting it in action.

Mum had a stroke and has been in The Manse since November 2014. During this time, we feel Mum has been cared for well. The staff and management are friendly and welcoming and Mum's room is lovely and clean. Food always looks yummy. Pre covid, all the residents seemed to really enjoy the entertainment put on. Lots of modernisation being done at the moment too. Thank you, it means a lot knowing Mum is in good hands.

My mother has been in The Manse for two years now and over all of that time, the staff have been very friendly. They have also put her health and well-being first, in what, sometimes, has been a difficult situation.
