My mother has lived at The Glen for the last three months, and my family and I have nothing but praise for all concerned, from the welcome I received when I came to do my initial look around until today. All staff are friendly, caring, professional and always look smart. The housekeepers never stop,
and carers are always attentive. Your activity ladies are brilliant, with varying events and helping everyone to join in. A very big thank you for all the above.

All the staff know us well and are always friendly welcoming and warm. Can discuss any concerns we have easily and they are always dealt with promptly. The staff know mum well and respond well to her needs. Food good and cleaning excellent. Mum's room always appears clean and tidy. Laundry much improved,
no missing clothes and clothes ironed and hung up. Activity staff go over and beyond and create great events.

My mum is really well cared for at the Glen the home is always very clean. The environment is modern, bright and airy. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Some of the regular staff have know us for years and go the extra mile to ensure mum is comfortable and activity staff try really hard to engage residents
and put on many different events and opportunities as they can.The staff are really responsive to mums health needs and are pro-active. They always involve us.

We chose glen care home for our dad as when we visited everyone was so welcoming and we were taken around by a member of staff who talked everything through about where dad would be and all the options they offered on a daily basis to incorporate his needs, we were very happy and dad got moved here
and was greated by everyone with a big smile and they made his room accessible so they could tend to his every need, another member of staff was amazing and he gave her a big smile, albeit a very short stay sadly cannot give them enough praise and would recommend this care/nursing home to people 100%x Thanks xx

My husband has only been a resident for 4 weeks and finances have not been settled yet so I can't answer that question.
My husband had problems settling in but seems not to be too distressed now and I hope he settles.

My nana has been at the Glen Care Centre for over a year now. She has settled well due to the consistent attention and kindness of the staff. The care has been excellent, reacting quickly to her changes in health both mental and physical and helping her emotionally showing so much compassion! I am always
kept informed and involved with her care and encouraged and welcomed to visit. The staff work above and beyond to provide varied activities even contributing their own time and money to 'do up' the gardens.

My husband needed to move from residential care to dementia nursing care. We visited The Glen Care Home and really liked it there, but we had to wait because the new wing had to have the go-ahead to open. But he was finally admitted; he has come on in leaps and bounds and looks happy. The staff are
brilliant and caring and kind. We are always made welcome when visiting. I have no complaints at all. It’s just a lovely brilliant place. So glad that my husband is finally settled.

Dad needed to go into nursing care straight from hospital and the minute I walked into The Glen Care Home, I knew it was the right place. The building itself is lovely, bright, modern, one level, and spotlessly clean. What has really made it perfect has been the staff; the kindness, friendliness and
complete professional expertise have been exemplary. My dad passed away a few weeks after arriving and he was cared for very beautifully. The staff did everything to make him comfortable and to make me feel at home. I can't thank them enough.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.483)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.483) out of 10 for The Glen Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.558 for The Glen Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (125 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 197 Ratings = 4.558
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Glen Care Home is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
