Great staff . Mother still has all mental facilities but is unable to walk. Home has been great meeting all of her care needs and treats her with respect. She has settled in well made friends with staff and other residents. It has been a great weight off my shoulders knowing that she is looked after

We chose glen care home for our dad as when we visited everyone was so welcoming and we were taken around by a member of staff who talked everything through about where dad would be and all the options they offered on a daily basis to incorporate his needs, we were very happy and dad got moved here
and was greated by everyone with a big smile and they made his room accessible so they could tend to his every need, another member of staff was amazing and he gave her a big smile, albeit a very short stay sadly cannot give them enough praise and would recommend this care/nursing home to people 100%x Thanks xx

This is my wife's relative that I visit regularly. This person has been a resident in Carnbroe Care Centre for just over a year now. The staff here have been excellent from day one. They are always interacting with myself and my relative. The staff are also very quick to act on any health issues that
my relative has had and are always willing to help. The care centre also has regular entertainment and a weekly planner to keep the residents occupied. As a result of this my relative is settled and has told me that he is happy there and doesn't want to leave.

I am extremely pleased with the care given to my dad. He is treated with respect and dignity (even when he's not in a good mood). I have never heard anyone raise their voice to him or be anything but pleasant. There are lots of activities to stimulate the residents which dad enjoys taking part in. Anything
I have asked the care/nursing staff about is always answered/acted on. If they are unsure of the answer they will go and find out and come back to me with the information I requested. The team in Craigend Gardens are all dedicated, hard working and are second to none.

My mum entered the home on 19th June 2025 and she has settled in well. Everyone made her so welcome! She now enjoys showing her visitors around and tells them how well she is looked after.
She does miss her church and I don't think she's been able to access the service on the TV?
Overall I'm very
pleased with the care that my mum is receiving.

Many thanks for taking the time to send a review. Much appreciated. We are pleased to hear that your mum is settling in and starting to feel at home. Will make sure that the staff remind her when the monthly in-house church service is taking place. There is also a weekly service live stream in the lounge or staff can arrange a private viewing in her room.

My mum passed away peacefully yesterday in Haslingden Hall. She had spent the last 3 months of her life here, and as a family, we could not be more grateful to each and every one of the staff. The genuine concern and care shone through every single day. At the end, it was because of the care for all
the family that it was a painless and peaceful passing.

We love the warm welcome we receive every time we visit. All staff cleaners, caterers, carers ,activity coordinators ,nursing staff and especially the Care Home Manager are all friendly and approachable. We are regulars in Bobbys Bistro and the Snoozy Snug and have had the opportunity to celebrate many
a happy family occasion in the upstairs dining area.Mum enjoys being pampered in the on site hairdressing salon .
Communications are strong and staff are always willing to listen ,we particularly enjoy regular updates on social media for when we aren't around ,and ,hearing all the latest news via regular newsletters.

My only concern is Bobbys Bar cleanliness could be improved. The tables and floor could be cleaner (more regular) lack of cleaning fluids and clean dish towels. Otherwise, this is a fantastic facility within the home which we use most days.
Reply from Elaine Wilson, Home Manager at Liberton Brae

Many thanks for your feedback. Its much appreciated as it really helps us to improve and make the home a more comfortable place for our residents . We have discussed your comment about cleanliness in the bistro with the team and from yesterday we increased the number of times that our domestic team will clean this area. I hope that this will help. As you are aware Bobby's Bistro is self manned but we try to have a staff member assisting there for part of each day who will make sure that the tables/bistro are kept clean. The domestic team will leave out more dish towels however we cannot leave out cleaning products for health and safety reasons.

My mother has been a resident since the home opened and we have found the care to be exemplary. Mum is well known by the staff for her views about world affairs and music and they all seem to know her well. Mum has COPD and the staff are very knowledgable about her treatment and have undertaken extra
training to deal with oxygen requirements when unwell.
We are always greeted on arrival and kept up to date with what is happening with Mum. Mum used to take part in some of the activities but is now less able but enjoys the chats she has.
It was recently Mum's 90th birthday and she had a great time. We took her out for lunch and the Care Home arranged a wheelchair taxi for us to take her down to the restaurant.
We are very pleased with the care and facilities in Liberton Brae and highly recommend the home.

My Mum has been a resident of Liberton Brae since October 2024, and as a family we can't praise highly enough the care and attention she has received there.
Mum has flourished in her new surroundings and thoroughly enjoys joining in with all the activities the entertainment team provides.
On sunny
days we've been able to enjoy sitting out on the roof terrace as Mum loves the fresh air, but on colder days The Bistro is a lovely environment to spend our family visits.
From the minute you walk through the front door you're made to feel welcome, and we can't thank all the staff enough for giving us peace of mind knowing Mum is safe and happy and being so well cared for.
