Mum lived in Liberton Brae for three years until her death from Alzheimer's in March 2026. Throughout that time we were delighted with the care that she received and had absolutely no cause for complaint at any time. The staff are fabulous; the nursing, care, domestic, maintenance, admin and entertainment
teams are caring, thoughtful and considerate. The facilities too are perfect, with lovely rooms and areas for residents and also for relatives and friends to spend time with loved ones. We couldn't fault the way in which Mum's needs were catered for and loved the way she was treated with respect and as an individual. At the time of her passing the Liberton Brae team were so compassionate and it was clear that they genuinely cared for Mum. We found choosing a Care Home tough, it's such an important decision and one that impacts the life of our loved ones so much - we couldn't have been happier that we chose Liberton Brae. From the bottom of our hearts - Thank You.

The standard of care my Dad receives is first class. He is always clean, shaven and well dressed. The staff are lovely, they know the names of everyone in the care home, they are very attentive and very approachable. My Dad loves taking part in the many activities offered by the team. His room is large,
well decorated and spotless. I can't praise the staff enough.

Mum arrived December 2025. From the very start she has been looked after superbly well. Her room is lovely and spotlessly clean. She really enjoys the food and entertainment. And finally the best part are the staff, throughout the care home all the staff are truly amazing. I feel she is really safe
and a big thank you to everyone for that.

The care, compassion and communication at Liberton Brae is second to none! The home is beautiful, bright and welcoming. Every member of staff is informative and professional whilst offering a personal touch with a huge smile or a hug. I can't thank everyone enough for the care that my step mum has
received over the past 18 months. She's basically in a 5 star hotel! There's so many activities for the residents to be involved and Jeanette & Anna manage to keep the activities fun and engaging for the residents.

I cannot comment highly or positively enough on the Amicura Liberton Brae care home.

Every aspect of the care is quite excellent, not least the individual care, empathy, compassion and support shown to my younger sister (who has early on-set dementia and secondary progressive MS). My sister is always

treated with the utmost care, dignity and respect and the facilities, the management and the nursing care team are also all quite excellent.

The activities and food and drink are also at a level well above what we have previously experienced and witnessed in other care homes. The communications from the care home are also highly effective, consistent and reliable, which is also very reassuring and comforting.

Thank you as always to all the extended team at the Amicura Liberton Brae care home.

We would highly recommend this Care Home.
On a daily basis we find staff go above and beyond in providing quality care for all its residents .Mums care has been exceptional with the whole team from caterers ,cleaners, activity coordinators, handy men ,auxiliaries, care and nursing staff working together
to maintain a happy caring environment in which Mum feels valued and cared for.
She has been involved in assisting staff with getting the roof top garden and courtyard ready for summer, numerous entertainment events and activities. She makes full use of hairdressing salon and the whole family are frequent visitors to the snoozy snug or Bobbys Bistro. We have also used the family dining room to celebrate Mums birthday.
The facilities are always clean and staff are always very welcoming to family and friends alike .

Our Mum has been at Liberton Brae for several months. We know she is safe and well cared for. The staff are professional, kind, and attentive. They are well informed about Mum's needs and care, and very responsive whenever we raise a concern about her health. The wellbeing team provide a wide range
of suitable activities and encourage Mum to take part. This has enriched her life enormously. The staff are also so kind to our Dad who visits regularly, and joins Mum for a meal once a week. Her room is always clean, welcoming and comfortable. Mum was always very stylish, and thanks to the staff she still is. Having Mum cared for at Liberton Brae has relieved the whole family of the worry and stress of trying to care for her at home.

My Mother was in for four weeks rest bite, during her stay she has improved her mobility and confidence. We found the Staff were all polite, helpful and friendly.
My mum joined in with the various activities and enjoyed them, her morning exercises with Janett, the weekly bingo. Her biggest highlight
was the performance of calamity Jane which she loved as it was from her era. She had fun and laughs with the halloween activites.

Care homes are not places that most people think about until you have to deal with one - I certainly didn't.
The staff and management of Liberton Brae provide a high level of service and are helpful, caring and attentive. They deliver a high level of care and compassion in what are often difficult
circumstances.
Thoroughly recommended.

We are very happy with Liberton Brae Care Home thanks to its great staff, lovely facilities, spaciousness and location. It is a light, bright and airy accommodation thanks to its many windows, as well as being warm and comfortable. The roof garden is a lovely addition in the sunshine. Cleanliness
is of a very high standard and menus are given thoughtful consideration. Staff are welcoming and do their best to get to know both the individual residents and also their families. Weekly newsletters help to keep everyone informed. The Activities Team make a real effort and difference to the overall environment. Regular entertainment takes place and outdoor trips happen when possible. The whole team are always very approachable and willing to help and families are always made to feel very welcome. Overall, we would definitely recommend comings to Liberton Brae Care Home.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.895)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.895) out of 10 for Liberton Brae is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.895 for Liberton Brae is calculated as follows: ( (347 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 381 Ratings = 4.895
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Liberton Brae is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
