Oaklands Nursing Home provides care for older people with physical frailty and physical disabilities in a quiet and comfortable environment. Ranging from nursing, residential and respite care to convalescent care, Oaklands ensures each resident gets the type of care which will enable them to relax and feel most at home.

As well as three well-furnished lounges, a hair salon and a separate dining room, Oaklands provides plenty of space for residents to spend time together and with friends and family, who are always encouraged to visit the home.

What a wonderful place for my mother in law to spend her time. The Carers and all the staff are so professional & caring at all times. Nothing is ever too much trouble as they go above & beyond in trying to help & to make the residents feel at home.
Again the management are absolutely amazing & really
do care about both there staff & residents.
The atmosphere is always welcoming whenever you visit no matter what time of day it is.
The food is delicious as all the food is home cooked on site. My mother in law (who doesn't usually remember things at all) couldn't wait to tell me about the homemade Chinese meal they'd had the day before!
I've worked in many homes in the past & also visited many more. I can honestly say that Oaklands is one of the very few that genuinely care about their residents. My mother in law is very happy there & always has a big beaming smile on her face whenever we visit.
It's put my faith back into care homes & we thank you so very much for everything u do.

The home is constantly upping their game when it comes to care, and I mean actual care. From days out for residents, to working with the community to bringing in exercise staff who engage with ALL individuals. It shows that they are always looking to improve the service they can give.

The staff and carers are so welcoming and friendly and make you feel so homely, my ad has come a long way thanks to them honestly the best. The location is well suitable to our needs and even the residents there are so friendly and allway smiling away bless them.

I can only think of positive things to say about Oaklands , from the amazing staff to the facilities available to the residents on a daily basis.
My father-in-law is a very quiet man with dementia. The changes in his personality since being at Oaklands is lovely and heartwarming to see. He joins
in the activities and is first to want to go out on their many outings. He interacts with the staff and we can see he has come to know them as 'friends' now rather than carers.
The food on offer at every meal can only be described as tasty and tempting and he is certainly eating all that's on offer.
As a family we feel so much more at ease knowing he is happy and being well looked after.
We can't ask for anything more.

Our Dad & Grandad lived at Oaklands for over 2 years. Sadly he passed away a few days ago. I cannot speak highly enough about the care given to him over the years and months. Everyone has been fantastic, culminating in the delicate care, concern and the dignity afforded to his family in his last days
and hours. Thank you soooo much to every member of Oaklands staff!

My father has been at Oaklands Nursing Home for nearly 1 year and he's settled in really well. The home is always clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are excellent and there are numerous activities to keep everyone interested and stimulated. It's so reassuring to know that after my visits,
my father is safe, happy and with his friends. I really wouldn't want my father to be anywhere else.

My mum was sent to Oaklands Nursing Home from Burnley General it was not chosen by the family. I have worked in care homes earlier in my life and I can't say how pleased I was when I first went in to visit Mum. I knew it was going to be good for Mum and her needs the place was lovely and clean always
and the staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble and they treated you like old friends. I was worried that at one point they might have moved mum nearer to home but thankfully she got to stay and I couldn't thank them enough for the care and understanding they gave my mum.

My family were told my gran had to go into a home, we were broken, we always promised we would never put her in a home. The day we looked around, we were instantly put at ease, the whole vibe of Oaklands is lovely. We decided on Oaklands after looking around a few others, it was by far the most welcoming
and friendliest of them all and I knew Gran would be happy here.
They have activities everyday, including singers, trips out etc. My gran, unfortunately was very poorly and bedridden, but they made sure she didn't miss out, activities went to her, and the smile on her face said it all.
All the staff were brilliant and like family, every one of them are an asset to the profession and worth their weight in gold! They made sure gran was happy and content 24/7. The management couldn't do enough for us as a family, nothing was ever too much, from the kind receptionist ringing us daily, to sitting with them and having a brew and a chat. Would highly recommend Oaklands to anyone.

December 2022 - February 2024 My Grandma was in Oaklands for 14 months, we had looked round a couple of other homes but Oaklands just stood out, the cleanliness, facilities and the relationships the staff had built with the residents, we knew that's where our special lady would spend her final months.
Oaklands allowed my Grandma to do that with dignity, pain free and familiar faces each day which helped us and my grandma to build relationships with staff that us as a family now class as friends, who we could trust to care for her. I visited my grandma most days, she was always clean, comfortable and happy. Oaklands go above and beyond for their residents and their families, Oaklands staff were particularly good with my Grandad. One thing that did stand out for me with Oaklands was the amount of activities that were on offer for the residents, they would have a full timetable each week and the food if residents didn't want something they would offer them alternatives to suit. Oaklands is a special place.

My mum has been in Oaklands for just over 6 months. The change in her from the previous care home is remarkable. All staff go above and beyond and we are always greeted by the manager when we arrive, she always goes out of her way to see us. We are kept well informed on all of Mum's care. I cannot rate
this home enough. A home-from-home.

Our mum was transferred from hospital into Oaklands Care Home in September 23, it was the hardest decision that we have ever had to make as we had been looking after our mum at home. The manager went above and beyond to make sure our mum came into the care home due to some issues with us not living
in Lancashire. All the staff looked after our mum so well and also welcomed us whatever time of day we wanted to visit, we could stay for an hour or 4 hours, it wasn't a problem. Any concerns that we had were discussed immediately and a solution given to us. Our mum had a very rare condition but the manager made sure that all staff were familiar with it by printing off paperwork for them to read. We as a family enjoyed 'singing for the brain' and other activities which they provide at Oaklands, there is always something going on. Our mum passed away in February 24 and without the help, knowledge and support from the staff we could not have got through this time.

My mum went into the care home in September 2023, this was not an easy decision but Oaklands staff really looked after Mum and us through a very difficult time in our lives. Mum passed away in February 2024 and Oaklands did everything they could to support us all right up to the very end, we wouldn’t
have got through it all without them they were just amazing and Mum really liked all of them.

I found the standard of care at Oaklands exceptional - there were certain staff members who developed deep and meaningful relationships with my mum that continued even when we'd moved her nearer to family.
During her time at Oaklands staff were patient, caring and kind to Mum and to us as a family.
The
activities and opportunities offered during her time with you gave Mum a quality of life and when I was visiting we enjoyed joining in music and craft activities together.

My mum is now in her 3rd week at Oaklands. All the staff are fantastic and have made Mum (age 96) feel very welcome. They have tried so hard to let her keep as much independence as possible whilst ensuring her safety. Too many staff to mention personally, but the manager, her assistant and the kitchen
manager ensure their teams provide the best care. Thanks to all the staff.

It is a very difficult and emotional decision to place your mother into a home and it really did take quite some back and forth for a number of years. Ultimately we realised that Oaklands would be the best place for her to provide my mother with the quality of life that she deserves. Around the clock
care but with activities, family visits, laughter and great meals and treats. We are very thankful to the Oaklands staff for all that they do.

I qualified as a nurse in 2004 and have worked in various areas of the NHS and the Independent Sector, as a nurse, care coordinator and registered manager. My journey into management in the independent sector started in 2011 and I have really enjoyed working in a variety of care settings since. I started working at Oaklands in 2022 and became a manager in 2023.


Working within care over the last few years has not been without its challenges but I am extremely proud of our team at Oaklands for their resilience and dedication to supporting and caring for our ladies, gentlemen and each other as team members. They ensure that care and compassion are balanced with fun and laughter doing their best to ensure that all who work or live in Oaklands enjoy their day.

I have worked at Oaklands Nursing Home since 2008 and have worked in all the departments within the home. I found that I got great satisfaction working as a care assistant because I could really get to know our ladies and gentlemen and support them with all their needs. I love seeing our ladies and gentlemen enjoying their life within our home. It’s great to know that I have made a difference and seeing the ladies' and gentlemen’s smiles is heartwarming. Within the last couple of years, I have enjoyed my career development at Oaklands, progressing from a Care Assistant to a Senior Care Assistant and I am now currently the Deputy Manager. I am looking forward to my further development and supporting the service to ensure that we continue to give the excellent service that Oaklands is renowned for.
