With a team devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, Peel Gardens is a thriving home. Several of the team have been there for over 10 years, giving it that warm, family feel.

The home has an excellent reputation locally for its dementia care, nursing and palliative care, with the team also offering respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who need a short break themselves, with the peace of mind that their loved one is being well cared for.

The local community is embraced into life at the home, from musicians and singers who regularly perform, to local school children coming in to spend time with the residents. The local pastor regularly visits, with residents also invited to events at the church.

There is also a bowling club behind the home, where the residents can play a game of bowls or enjoy coffee and cake in the park.

With its own newly-refurbished hair and nail salon, residents can enjoy weekly appointments with the mobile hairdresser and a spot of pampering. And a chiropodist also visits regularly.

The enclosed, sensory gardens at the home are beautiful, having had a huge investment from not-for-profit provider Sanctuary Care to transform them into a wonderful space. And friends at the local Colne Horticultural Society have recently planted daffodil bulbs ready for the spring!

This summer the gardens have been a hub of activity, with the residents growing their own fruit and vegetables from onions and tomatoes to strawberries. These have then harvested their produce for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

In the dining room the residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, home-made soups and lighter bites, with freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1180 and for nursing care £1504, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

My wife has a pleasant, bright room with ensuite toilet. Staff are friendly, caring and respectful of her. The manager and assistant manager are approachable and readily available if there are any queries about my wife's care. The home is well-appointed with regard to lounges, dining rooms, bathrooms
etc. My knowledge of the food is very slight but it appears to be good and my wife is happy with it.

Excellent staff, compassionate, friendly and caring and responsive to my father-in-law's needs. Standard of hygiene and care second to none with clean, homely spacious rooms. Maintenance and décor are lovely.

Having had my father in an unacceptable nursing home for a couple of months before moving him to Peel Gardens, I have never appreciated the way he is looked after and treated more. Peel Gardens are amazing. The staff are great, caring and have the patience my father requires.
I am thrilled I had the

I have nothing but praise for every member of staff from nurses to carers to cleaners.
No matter what time I come, I am always welcomed and kept well informed at all times. He has a lovely bright room that is kept spotless. Very happy with my dad's care which means an awful lot to me and my family.

I think that the staff do a good job of looking after the residents as this is a difficult job. I think there could be more entertainment to try to interact with residents but overall staff do the best they can.

My aunt lived at Peel Gardens for 18 months. The care she received from the nursing staff and carers was absolutely excellent. I couldn't find fault anything. She sadly passed away in hospital last week. Today 25/02/19, I went to the home to clear her room. The staff were brilliant helping me to do
this at such an emotional time. Even the staff were emotional, including the nurse. Excellent care given by all.

My Mother in Law was a resident at Peel Gardens for 3 months until her passing in January.


Despite the occasional challenges of her management she was, at all times, cared for with great dignity and respect. It was a source of great comfort to us knowing she was looked after so well.


We are

also very grateful to all the staff for how they looked after us all as a family when we visited.
