My grandad is a resident at Barchester Sherwood Court Care Home and I cannot fault the staff or care. The staff are very respectful and care for the residents as if they are their own. The manager is very approachable and cares about all her residents. I would recommend Sherwood Court to anyone who is looking for compassionate care for their loved one.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and the lovely comments. I will share them with the team.
My father was at Barchester Sherwood Court Care Home from March 2024 until he sadly passed away August 2024. My father loved the nursing home and was very happy there. We all found the staff amazing. They were all very professional and delivered high standards of care. We visited daily and found the home very warm and welcoming. The coffee shop area and outside area were very lovely. My father loved the activities. The manager was excellent and the home and all staff were amazing. Thank you Sherwood Court.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, your father was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed.
My mum is a service user, and my brother and I live in Ireland so we're unable to visit very often. However we do get regular feedback - and pictures - from our sister; and it is an absolute ease to us that mum is so well cared for - including her (96th!) birthday celebration and cake she was given this last weekend. My sincere thanks to all your staff for the top class and loving care they provide for our mum
Many thanks for your lovely feedback which I will share with the staff.
We placed my dad into respite care here, on 3rd April 2023. This is an EMI unit, suggested to us by Social Services. The same evening dad was admitted, he managed to escape from the building, within hours of us leaving. We got a call from the unit at approx 10.20pm, informing us they had called the police as they couldn't find him on the unit. He was found at approx 1.30am near Preston Docks, by the Police (4 miles away). The unit manager, at approx 2am, spoke rudely and abruptly on the phone to my mum (non-driver) asking her to collect him immediately as they could not manage him. The unit is supposed to be for challenging behaviours. We contacted the Duty Social worker, who informed us to leave him there and collect him in the morning. The next morning the unit manager mentioned that my dad must have followed a member of staff into the laundry and escaped from there. There are many doors that are coded to enter and exit the unit. This is negligence and compromised my dad's safety.
We are so sorry to hear about your experience again with Sherwood Court Care. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback, and we’d like to assure you that we are treating this very seriously and your concerns are currently being fully looked into for you. Our team have recently...
My friend is a resident of the nursing home. She has been well cared for in the home, by the nursing and care team. The management team and reception team are absolutely amazing, thank you so much for all the love and care.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, I will share your comments with our team.
Due to Covid my mum was in the wrong type of care home, but as soon as was possible she moved to Sherwood Court in October 2020. From this time she has been settled and on the whole very happy. The staff all go above and beyond to ensure that residents are looked after. Recently it was Mum's 80th birthday they organized a singer to come and dress up as Elvis (Mum's favourite singer) and they had a lovely party for her. The staff ensure that we are made aware of all chances that take place and that the residents are entertained with singing and other activities. I am so aware of the importance of good staff as in my mum's previous care home they were unable to keep Mum settled and resorted to calling us any time day or night, this has never happened at Sherwood Court. Mum is settled and if she gets upset they have some wonderful distraction techniques which work.
Thank you for your review. We value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team, who work hard to deliver high standards of quality care at all times. I will pass on your feedback to the team.
A well-run home due to excellent management and staff. The staff are caring and attentive, they treat my dad with dignity. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit. I wouldn't have my dad anywhere else.
My team and I are very grateful for the lovely feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review us
Our experience as a family has been brilliant. In a time that has been extremely difficult, they have made it that little bit easier. The staff make you feel as if this is your home and part of a family. They keep you very informed and make sure the residents if able to understand. Couldn't recommend enough.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments I will share them with the team.

My mum has only recently come into Sherwood Court Care Home. I was apprehensive at first. However, we as a family are very happy with all the care and support she has received. The staff are professional, caring and understanding of my mum's needs. I cannot fault anything at all. Would recommend the home to family and friends.

Every time I have gone to visit Sherwood Court Care Home, you walk through the door and it's fabulous. It's clean, has really nice furniture, and always a big flower arrangement smells amazing. The staff and activities are both great.

We can't thank Barchester Sherwood Court Care Home enough for all they did to care for our family member. They went above and beyond. The staff at Sherwood Court relate to the residents as "their family" and call Sherwood Court the resident's "home"; we thought this was lovely! It's very comforting for the family members of the resident. Our family member had the best care we could ever wish for over the last few years. The staff members really do care and look after the residents so well. The staff always make sure the residents are happy. The home is beautiful and very clean. There is a little salon inside the home, which is nice for the residents too. I strongly recommend Sherwood Court. You won't be disappointed if you choose this home for a loved one (or yourself). Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Sherwood Court; they are very welcoming and caring and so kind. Thank you so much to all your wonderful staff; you do an amazing job! Keep up the good work, Sherwood Court!

We were most impressed with Sherwood and we are very happy that we chose it as she has had excellent care. Unfortunately mum is at end of life care due to a hospital blunder, but everyone at Sherwood has been fabulous.

From the very first contact of enquiries from reception through to the manager, I knew this was home for mum. Very professional and helped me before IU had even chosen Sherwood Court at Fulwood Preston. I didn't want mum to go into a home but after meeting everyone and seeing her room, I was so emotionally overwhelmed with how lovely everything and everybody was and still is. Thank you to all the team for a first-class service.

Every time I visit I feel welcomed by the staff. The atmosphere is all happy and jolly, I feel like my dad is well cared for. All needs are met to a high standard. If I have any concerns I feel like staff and management are more than obliging to help and sort them professionally.
Thank you for your lovely comments Amanda, your dad has been a character on both our units since coming to live at Sherwood Court
Although my brother has only been here a short time I'm very happy with his care. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for your lovely comments. The staff team work really hard to ensure our residents are happy and feel at home from the day they come to live with us
In lockdown, I have visited my wife in the Pod and bedroom visits. The staff have helped with the visits and I am satisfied with the way the home has helped me and my wife in these difficult times.
Thank you for your comments. We value all our feedback and will use this to improve our service.
