Springfield Care Home

As a family, we visited lots of homes before deciding on Springfield Care Home. Since Mum has been here - 4 months, she has improved immensely from the daily stimulation of company, activities and the care she has received. The staff and management are friendly, caring, approachable and have a generally welcoming, caring and friendly approach to both residents and their families. This is definitely the right place for our loved one.

Even though Dad was only there for three weeks, the staff made him, Mum and the family very comfortable. Could not have asked for them to do anything more - they were great.

My mum was in the home for just two years. She passed last Sunday. I can't praise the staff enough for her care. Over the two years, she had the best care, food and activities. Last week has been very hard, and the staff have looked after my sister and I so well. They made sure we were eating and taking care of ourselves. The last day was amazing. Even at the end, Mum showed how much she loved the staff and was loved by them. Again, we can't thank you enough.

My mother has been in the care of Springfield Nursing Home from August 21 to January 22. During this time, she was treated well in all respects by caring staff. My mum felt safe and comfortable in the home and was treated well with dignity until she passed away.

I do not have adequate superlatively to describe the standard of care offered to my mother whilst at Springfield. My ambition was to provide her with comfort and dignity. She had all that and a lot more. Everyone from senior management to hygiene is caring and fully engaged in the whole care ethos. Cannot praise highly enough!

My friend, who was a very independent and mentally aware lady, sadly suffered a stroke, which took her speech, swallowing reflex and the use of her right side. Staff at Springfield took time to get to know her as a person, involving friends and relatives in that process, which meant they could provide individual care. These have been challenging times due to Covid for everyone concerned, but the home maintained the safety of their residents, staff and visitors appropriately and always with a smile. I am a retired nurse and former matron/proprietor of a nursing home, so I speak with experience when I say it was always a pleasure to visit my friend. Thank you to you all!

My sister was cared for from January 2019 to March 2021. She was always happy and treated with care and respect by all staff members, as was I on my daily visits to her.

Placing Mum in a care home was the last thing I ever wanted to do. The decision was taken out of our hands when we physically could no longer adequately care for Mum at home.

The first choice of nursing home that had been chosen in January 2020 was not able to take Mum due to Covid being in the home. They referred us to Springfield Nursing Home, and I will be forever grateful that Springfield were able to quickly accept Mum, and for the care they gave to Mum.

As soon as it was possible, we were able to visit Mum in the Covid safe conservatory, and when visiting was permitted into the home, this was carefully managed to maintain safety for staff, patients and visitors. Mum deteriorated quickly in the last week, and the care and love that was given to Mum were incredible.

If you are reading this review trying to make a choice of where to place a loved one, please arrange a visit, the home and staff are amazing; thank you so much for all you did for Mum.

Our close family friend came to Springfield for what turned out to be end-of-life care. The staff were very kind and considerate to all his personal and other needs. Our visits were not restricted to any particular time of day or night nor to any specific duration. Nothing was too much trouble no matter what time of day. His care and treatment were exemplary and very reassuring to us that he was getting the best.

The staff were always on hand providing support and regular cups of tea. Grandma has since passed on, but we have nothing but praise and thanks to the care home staff. We couldn’t have cared for her any better ourselves.

I have lived here since 2012, and I am very comfortable and very well looked after. I hope to be here for a few more years because I am happy here. I could not be in a better place, and I would advise anyone to come here. This is my true opinion of Springfield Nursing Home.

The staff do their utmost to make my mothers stay as happy as possible. They do their best to meet her needs. The staff are very approachable and seem to care about the residents. They encourage people to join in and mix, but if someone wants to stay in their room, they can.

All the staff are very helpful and are always on hand to answer any concerns we may have with regard to my mother in law.

Springfield has a friendly atmosphere and the residents are kept clean and well cared for. The staff have done everything to make my mum-in-law as comfortable as possible and as a family, we are pleased with the care she is receiving. There are plenty of activities if residents want to get involved - for example in December, among other things were carol singers, a Christmas fair and even a live donkey!

We were a little reserved when mum first arrived, but our fears were gone with her time here.

Everyone at Springfield is friendly, care staff are very good at their jobs.

I have always found the staff very good in whatever role they play, but all relate with residents and visitors with great respect and dignity. Another plus is the stimulus provided with activities, singing, carpet bowls, visitors bringing animals or birds, etc which fills the common area with residents who don't normally come there, then the garden's a great place to sit. Each resident is well cared for.

Buzzer response, urine bottles both need urgent addressing.

Very kind and friendly staff and fellow residents. All you ask for is kindness and you get this in abundance. Clean and tidy, great entertainment. Singers come in, animals, dominos, bowls, growing plants and a manager you feel you can talk to. Rooms are tidy. Thanks, you have put me at ease.

Such a wonderful experience with this home, well run by the management, carers nurses, cooks, entertainment coordinator and cleaners and laundry staff. My dad has been in the home as a resident for approx 3 weeks but everyone has put me at ease. I got shown around originally by the finance manager and she did a good job of welcoming me and putting me at ease showing me the home and straight away I felt this home had a relaxed atmosphere.
