Oaklands Care Home is located in Doncaster's Bessacarr district and is close to shops, amenities, public transport and the M18 motorway link. Doncaster town centre is 3 miles away.

This purpose built home provides accommodation in single occupancy rooms, most of which are with en-suite facilities. Some rooms are spacious enough for sharing companions.

Oaklands is tastefully decorated and provides TV lounges and a quiet sitting room where residents can socialise and relax. Many rooms overlook the extensive private grounds. Meals are served in the separate dining rooms and residents can enjoy each others company while dining. A good variety of home cooked food using fresh produce is served with daily menu choices to select from. Special diets can be catered for.

Residents can benefit from the regular visits made to the home by an experienced hair stylist and a qualified chiropodist. The home can also arrange for complementary therapies if required.

A varied programme of activities also takes place at Oaklands.

The home is pleasant, staff are helpful they find time if you need to talk about any activities, problems etc. You may have about your patient. the staff are security conscience and apply the rules are prescribes in their leaflet. The manager is very approachable and staff are very good with my mother.
All in all I would tell anyone asking about putting a parent in the home. Yes, they will be well looked after,

During my stay at the care home, my view of the staff and how the care home is run did change. From why don't they do more to how did they manage to do so much. All the residents have different physical and mental needs. So looking after then when Covid is still causing problems makes you realise that
care homes and carers are on the from line of social care.

I find Oaklands Care Home an excellent service. The staff are friendly, kind and helpful. Any information asked they are willing to help. Overall, my relative has been very well looked after and received first-class care. Thank you.

There could be more staff which would improve things. They seem to be worked very hard with long shifts and do not seem to be able to get proper breaks with no meal provided. The staff turnover is fairly high caused by the above.

The care home is an extremely well kept and clean place.
The staff always seem to be smiling and helpful. The home has a variety of things to do during the day and evening. The one let down is the lack of trips out. This is due to lack of staff available to push wheelchairs. This is very disappointing
to those who look forward to the organised days out.

My mother has been in the care home for nearly 2 years. During that time, she has been cared for very well by the staff.
They have a good variety of food to choose from which promotes healthy eating.
They have regular outings which she really enjoys and my father can come along and enjoy too.
This
gives all the residents a big boost to their health and wellbeing.

My husband receives good care and attention since having a very serious stroke that has left him paralyzed and brain damaged.
The staff are very kind, helpful and courteous at all times and nothing is too much trouble for them. I visit every day and have seen this for the last five months since he
was admitted, so I see the care that is given and feel reassured that he is in safe hands.

My aunt spent the last 48 hours of her life in Oaklands and I cannot fault the care she received. She had only spent a couple of days in Oaklands the previous week as her first time in care and was then admitted to hospital. Despite being discharged from the hospital for palliative care on a Friday
with a very poor discharge letter, the staff took all our concerns on board and took very great care of her through her last hours.

This was the second period of respite in Oaklands. The previous week (last year) has been successful, with no concerns. We had hoped to use Oaklands regularly. However, although staff were friendly and helpful, my husbands skin was not cared for. He had difficulty negotiating the very steep ramp safely
in his powered chair and there was no TV provided this time (had to rush out and get one a day of admission). These concerns were reported to management and appeared of be taken on board.

We are extremely sorry that we did not get things 100% right on this occasion, our Home Manager has addressed all concerns with care. We are also currently looking at the front entrance ramp, this is the first time we have had any concerns expressed about this ramp.

The new owners have recently invested in a new extension and general refurbishment of the premises to improve the facilities. The overall standard of care is good and the residents are safe and secure. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I am delighted to be the Care Home Manager of Oaklands in Doncaster. I have over 20 years of experience in care and have been a manager for 5 of those years. My decision to join the Oaklands team was driven by the amazing reputation Trust Care has and our shared values of commitment to exceptional care.
