Woodlea Care Home

Mum moved into Woodlea Care Home at the end of her life. Only 2 weeks early she was given poor prognosis. She had been fit and healthy prior to a short illness. In hospital she was comforted by the nurse call bell, and this was her reason for choosing care home instead of care at home. The staff at
Woodlea were kind, respectful and gentle with her. She was fortunate to go to the garden centre on a trip with them, despite being very poorly and deteriorated but respected her wishes to go as she knew this might be her last time. In her final days the District Nurses were aiming and fully part of the team at Woodlea. We are so very grateful to you.

My father entered Woodlea at the end of March 2025 with Parkinson's Dementia. Initially he struggled to understand why he was there and was regularly disorientated. Staff have worked closely with us his family to monitor his behaviour and feedback to external medical professionals.Together we have adjusted
his medication and tried to keep as 'old routines' as possible in order to help him settle. We have been allowed to fill his room with photographs and professions and even furniture from his old house to keep the feeling of familiarly. He also enjoys regular visitors from local friends and outings to keep his old life going where possible.

We couldn't be more grateful for the outstanding care my partner's father is receiving at Flower Park Care Home. From day one, the staff have been incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional, always treating him with dignity and genuine warmth.

The level of care and attention provided is exceptional.

Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and communication with the family is clear and reassuring, which gives us great peace of mind. It's obvious that the staff truly care about the residents and take pride in the service they provide.

The environment itself is friendly, welcoming, and well maintained, creating a homely atmosphere rather than a clinical one. There is always a positive feel when you walk in, and residents are made to feel comfortable, safe, and valued.

We are extremely thankful to the whole team at Flower Park Care Home and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring, supportive, and professional care home for their loved one.

Reply from Joanne Dayton, Manager at Flower Park Care HomeThank you so much for your feedback. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that the care and support we provide have brought comfort to you and your family. We're truly committed to creating a welcoming, compassionate environment for every resident, and your kind words reinforce why we do what we do. I will share your kind words with the team.

The staff are always welcoming and helpful they keep me informed about Christine's needs and changes in her care which is always a comfort as I live quite a distance

My mother had been a resident at Oaklands for the past 12 months and has been well cared for. She had been in two other homes for short periods and I found the care and attention given to residents here to be far superior to them.
Staff are very hard-working, positive and caring of their charges.
The home itself kept us informed of any issues and their resolution.
I would recommend this home to anyone needing placement in a care home

All staff including carers, catering, maintenance & cleaning staff are always friendly & polite. The interaction between staff, residents

Staff and management excellent. Location for and my mum was perfect. Secure for peace of mind and always contactable and welcomed to visited as regular as possible which I did almost every day.
My Mum was just getting settled when she suddenly fell ill which then resulted in her passing hours later.
A

With knowing alot if the staff and after reviewing all other local facilities there was a clear winner and I would recommend the Laurels every time

I cannot recommend Woodlea highly enough. After visiting many care homes, the moment we were shown around by Emma and met Lydia, we knew we'd finally found the right place for my mum to spend the final chapter of her life. As we got to know the team, it became clear how special you all are - caring,
compassionate, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure residents and families felt comfortable and supported. The food was excellent and thoughtfully tailored to her needs, while the entertainment and special events brought laughter and cherished memories. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the kindness, dignity, and warmth you showed my mum and our family. You made her final days peaceful and meaningful, and for that we will always be truly grateful. With sincere thanks and appreciation. Adrian, Joanne & Ciaran

Wrawby Hall

from S F (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 11 November 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
I would not recommend this facility for a loved one, suffering with dementia. The dignified & personal care was such a low, my loved one was wet/soiled upon every visit, meaning family had to do this. IPC was not controlled at all, staff were unable to answer questions in relation to preventing certain
things. Knifes & forks were left with my loved one, wandering around with them & no staff supervising. Residents were able to access my loved one's room continuously without being stopped. An ambulance had arrived and a relative stayed with my loved one for 6 hours, my loved one didn't get offered food or drink. The level of care was very poor, not person centred or dignified, as well as being given false updates on what my loved one was doing. Do not recommend.
Reply from Julie Moran, Trust Care at Wrawby HallThank you for sharing your feedback about your loved one's experience at Wrawby Hall. We're very sorry to hear your concerns and understand how upsetting this must be. We've reviewed the areas you raised-personal care, infection control, supervision, and communication-and sought safeguarding advice to ensure our processes were appropriate. Investigations found the care provided was compliant and not reflective of the concerns described. That said, we remain committed to safe, dignified, person-centred care and welcome the chance to speak with you directly. Please contact the Home Manager if you feel comfortable doing so.

After 3 weeks in a hospital we had the opportunity to move our 81 year old mother to a care home with nursing care. What a difference it made to our mother and my sister and I. We cannot recommend Bridgewater Park highly enough. The whole team from office, nurses, carers, catering staff, tea ladies,
cleaners were all angels in disguise who wrapped our mother (and us) in compassionate, loving, tender care made the most difficult and painful of times as dignified and caring as was possible. We cannot thank and praise them enough.
