Mum was very poorly when she came into The Laurels just before Christmas 2025.
Mum has improved so much due to the high quality of care and compassion she has received.
She has improved her mobility and is now eating well.
The carers, leaders and support staff go above and beyond to meet her needs
and ensure her emotional wellbeing being is considered.
I cannot thank them enough for their patience and empathy.
Reply from Darren Mann-Saunders, Manager at The Laurels Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write a review for the home. It really means a lot to know that we have assisted in enhancing the lives of our residents. I hope mum continues to improve as well as she has so far.

When my sister came to The Laurels. She had been in a bad carehome. We knew she would be well looked after because my brother had been there too. The care workers are very kind and and do their jobs very well. My brother was very happy at The Laurels he was here during covid time. I really like everything
the management do for all the residants and visitors. I would recommend The Laurels 100% to anyone wanting to a great care home.
Reply from Darren Mann-Saunders, Manager at The Laurels Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to do a review for the care home, it is very much appreciated. I am happy to read that you are pleased with the service that we offer and that you would recommend the home as well.

The remorse suffered when making the decision to commit a loved one to a care home is beyond description. I know, but my traumatic experience was eased a little when I had a sympathetic chat with Darren the manager of The Laurels who explained to me why residential professional care would be the best
thing for my much loved partner .We made that decision,
The Laurels is not a "flashy " care home.
It is clean, cosy, welcoming and homely. It has effective management. The staff are kind , loving and understanding of the resident needs. Medications are administered as directed and on time, Food is excellent.
My partner has now been a resident of The Laurels for 5 months . No matter how good a care home may be it will never be as desirable as "real home", however, we look upon The Laurels as being "a home from home " and I am able to sleep soundly knowing that my loved one is in good hands and safe and sound.
My advice. Stay at home for as long as possible and then speak to Darren.
Reply from Darren Mann-Saunders, Manager at The Laurels Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to review our home. Thank you for your kind words. The main thing we strive for here at the Laurels is happiness, for both our residents and their families, and if we achieve this, then we have done what we are here to do, Love, care and be ''present'' in the moment. Thank you again.

Mum has now been at Town Moor for 10 months now. From the moment she arrived Mum has been made to feel welcome and part of the Town Moor Family. Each day the food is excellent and varied, she receives medical care as soon as needed and Mum is always clean and tidy with no personal hygiene issues at
all.
In addition, each day there are some great and different activities and to see Mum engaged and getting involved and enjoying these brings joy to me when I see the photos on social media.
Obviously whenever anybody has to move a loved one into a care/residential facility it is a difficult time and you always have your concerns and doubts. However I can honestly say that I have never had any of these. The staff are wonderful and caring and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble for them
Prior to moving into TM I worried 24/7 about Mum's health, safety and wellbeing with her being on her own at home, but now I have the comfort knowing she is safe and well looked after. Thank you Town Moor

My mother arrive at The Laurels 5 weeks ago after spending 12 days in hospital due to a serious fall in her bungalow. The manager came to visit mum in hospital after making enquiries about placing mum in The Laurels. Everything was explained very clearly and very informative. Thank full we have been
very impressed by the care and support mum has received by all the care staff and other ancillary/support staff working there. The staff have been very supportive to not just mum, but the rest of our family, always keeping us updated on how she is settling in and progressing. The laurels has a very lovely friendly atmosphere.

My Mum first came here in June 2025 and we were immediately made to feel welcome and part of the Town Moor family. The care staff were so friendly and everyone worked together as a team to ensure all the residents needs were met.
Sadly, my Mum's health deteriorated and in October 2025 she became bed
bound. The care she received from the team was outstanding. They ensured she was comfortable and her personal hygiene needs were met at all times. She was always treated with dignity and respect.
The staff would always be on hand should she need anything.
Whenever activities were arranged the Acivity co- ordinator would include her, she would even read to her if we weren't visiting so she wasn't alone.
The staff have been so supportive to us as a family, and have shown true friendship and care which has helped us enormously through the difficult weeks leading up to Mum passing away. Thank you does not seem enough. We are so pleased we chose Town Moor care home for our lovely Mum.
Reply from Claire Pegg, Manager at Town Moor HouseThank you for your kind feedback. Your mum will be missed greatly. We take great pride in our care and it is lovely to be recognised.

Mum moved into Woodlea Care Home at the end of her life. Only 2 weeks early she was given poor prognosis. She had been fit and healthy prior to a short illness. In hospital she was comforted by the nurse call bell, and this was her reason for choosing care home instead of care at home. The staff at
Woodlea were kind, respectful and gentle with her. She was fortunate to go to the garden centre on a trip with them, despite being very poorly and deteriorated but respected her wishes to go as she knew this might be her last time. In her final days the District Nurses were aiming and fully part of the team at Woodlea. We are so very grateful to you.

My father entered Woodlea at the end of March 2025 with Parkinson's Dementia. Initially he struggled to understand why he was there and was regularly disorientated. Staff have worked closely with us his family to monitor his behaviour and feedback to external medical professionals.Together we have adjusted
his medication and tried to keep as 'old routines' as possible in order to help him settle. We have been allowed to fill his room with photographs and professions and even furniture from his old house to keep the feeling of familiarly. He also enjoys regular visitors from local friends and outings to keep his old life going where possible.
Reply from Julie Moran, Trust Care at Woodlea Care HomeWe really appreciate you taking time to provide a review of your experience of Woodlea, and good to hear it has been positive. We will feedback your comments to ours staff team thank you so much.

We couldn't be more grateful for the outstanding care my partner's father is receiving at Flower Park Care Home. From day one, the staff have been incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional, always treating him with dignity and genuine warmth.
The level of care and attention provided is exceptional.
Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and communication with the family is clear and reassuring, which gives us great peace of mind. It's obvious that the staff truly care about the residents and take pride in the service they provide.
The environment itself is friendly, welcoming, and well maintained, creating a homely atmosphere rather than a clinical one. There is always a positive feel when you walk in, and residents are made to feel comfortable, safe, and valued.
We are extremely thankful to the whole team at Flower Park Care Home and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring, supportive, and professional care home for their loved one.
Reply from Joanne Dayton, Manager at Flower Park Care HomeThank you so much for your feedback. The staff are always welcoming and helpful they keep me informed about Christine's needs and changes in her care which is always a comfort as I live quite a distance
