Mum was at end of life and went into Park House Nursing Home for palliative care. She has been so well looked after since arriving she has gained weight and seems more like my mum again. She is still end of life but happy rather than just a poorly body.

During COVID trying to find a nursing home for my mum was extremely stressful over the phone. We chose Park House because of the reviews and telephone conversations over the phone. Mum settled in very quickly and started to gain weight due to the meals and care provided. The staff are all very caring.

My Grandmother lived at Park House for almost 18 months. She was treated with such dignity and her family with such respect right to the end and beyond. This was our first experience of a care home and it was positive! My Gran often thought she was in a hotel! We have nothing but praise for the staff and management here and would recommend Park House to anyone.

Park House is a very warm and welcoming nursing home, the managers and staff are always approachable and friendly. They interact well with all the residents in the home. The diet is well planned and on display each day for residents and families to read, special diets are catered for! The activities within the home are excellent and well planned around the resident's past hobbies and interests. It's a great place.

My husband has improved considerably since coming to Park House, his dementia has slowed down and with lots of interaction, he has shown a marked improvement.
Coming from a social service establishment - he was left in his room 24 hours a day with little or no stimulation, in fact, I was told he was 'at the end of his life'.

Now he has progressed and beyond what I was told to believe.

Warm and welcoming, beautiful location.
sometimes staff are hard to find, seems there are not enough to give personal attention to residents.
Always clean and tidy.

when staff are available, they are very friendly - there just doesn't ever seem to be enough of them.

All carers were kind and considerate to my sister, very thoughtful of her needs, physical or mental. Cleanliness was apparent in all areas generally and resident's personal care. The atmosphere was calm, surroundings bright and airy.

My Mother has been resident at Park House Nursing Home for a number of years, a wise choice that was made for Mum. In addition, my Father spent the best part of the last year of his life (most of 2014) at Park House himself wishing to go there, he had the mental competence to make this choice.

For both my Parents, Park House has provided first rate care, providing for their needs as appropriate.

The house is set in a peaceful large garden surrounded by trees and is small enough to have a homely atmosphere. The owners take great interest in the day to day running of the home and care about the service provided. In addition, the manager and staff are efficient friendly and caring, many of them have worked there as long as Mum has been a resident.

I am happy with the care that my Mother receives.

Park House has become my Mum's home and her family's second home.It is warm, homely, bright with staff members to match. Once a month there is a singer that comes which the residents love to sing along with. Xmas was lovely, all trimmed up with entertainment. Xmas carols playing and again a sing-along. Meals are lovely. Visitors are always offered drinks and biscuits. Pets are welcome. My mum's great-grandchildren think of the home has their nanas home and are given drinks and biscuits as they would in her own home, caring and lovely staff.

Initially, I was told by a social worker that my mother would not be a suitable candidate for Park House.
After viewing several homes in my area and not deeming any of them an appropriate residence for Ma, on the spur of the moment, I phoned Park House and they accepted my mother.
I could not have wished for a better environment for her to spend her last months of her life.
I visited every day so feel qualified to have an honest opinion.
More importantly than my verdict, my mother was very happy living there.

Five stars from us both.

My wife has been resident at Park House Nursing Home for just over 10 years. She developed MS over 35 years ago and has gradually lost the use of her legs. Now her arms and hands are getting weaker. The home has a qualified nurse covering days and nights. Carers are mostly female but there are male carers working mostly on nights. All the staff are efficient, caring, giving the residents the attention they require. The home is a large Victorian house with a large garden where the resident can sit out in the summer. The owners are local people and spend quite a lot of their time there where they get to know the residents and their relatives.
