The home provides both nursing and residential care. The relaxed homely atmosphere enables residents the enjoy Bingley Wingfield in their individual way. Most of the staff, their families and the staff are from Bingley.

It is located in a very pleasant residential area which is relatively central to Bingley. The home is a beautiful Victorian house which was extended about 15 years ago to provide additional bedrooms. The old part of the building retains many of its original features and the home is set in pleasant gardens.

The home has 40 bedrooms many of which have en-suites and offer great views over the Aire Valley.

We thank you for your feedback and are pleased to see that the new activities provision which has included resident engagement to ascertain how they would like to see this developed has improved this provision and made residents feel more fulfilled. We are working towards a much more inclusive service with more resident engagement and involvement so that we can respect their wishes and choices.

My mother passed away on 28th November, just short of her 100th birthday, after being admitted to Bingley Wingfield Care Home from Airedale Hospital in January of this year with a life expectancy of up to 6 weeks. Through her own strong will and the excellent care she received from the home, my mother's
life lasted probably eight months or so longer than expected. Despite the additional pressures that Covid-19 produced, the staff of nurses and carers provided my mother with efficient and also compassionate care in what were very difficult and extenuating circumstances whereby she regarded them all as a family which was a testament to their selfless support. Both myself and my family are grateful for the care and attention she received at a time when our licence to visit was limited, due to the pandemic present throughout most of the time of her containment at the home.

I would like to promote Wingfield Nursing home to anyone who needs secure accommodation for their loved one in the difficult times of Alzheimer's disease and Dementia. My Father was admitted two years ago when we were finally unable to assist with his requirements. The Nursing home is spotlessly clean,
the staff I could not fault - friendly and considerate, catering to all the needs possible. The nurses in particular, were at their very best, phoning me when necessary and keeping me up to date on my late father's progress. Even due to the times of the Covid19 virus, I was updated on my fathers care. Towards the end of his life, I was able to visit, Covid19 virus rules applying and dignity was allowed with care and attention at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Wingfield Nursing home to anyone.

Dad stayed at Wingfield, Bingley for a brief spell following a lengthy period in hospital in the summer of 2015. We were highly impressed and indeed delighted by the high level of care and professionalism provided by all staff at Wingfield to Dad at the end of his life. A very big thank you to Wingfield
Nursing Home and all the staff.

Because of circumstances my uncle joined the Wingfield family without either of us visiting. From the first day I have been delighted with the home. My first impression hurrah there is no urine smell (common in many residential homes) Meals can be taken at dining table or at an individual table or in
their own room. This gives choice. As far as possible residents are not institutionalised, they are allowed to be individuals, stay in own room or sit in communal lounges. Staff engage with patients. As my uncle has said many times "I'm lucky to be here"

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.532)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.532) out of 10 for Bingley Wingfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.632 for Bingley Wingfield is calculated as follows: ( (71 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.632
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bingley Wingfield is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
