This is the second time my husband has been in Aden Lodge and I feel comfortable with him being here, they have lots of things going on, and my husband sleeps a lot but sure he joins in. I know he is fed as he would say when I pick him up. The staff cares and I can tell when I pick him up. I have a
seat when he is in the home and I don't see the food and drink but if asked they all say yes.

Aden Lodge is now my mother's permanent home. From the moment she arrived, she was made very welcome by all the wonderful staff and residents and chose herself to live here permanently. I get to see her whenever I like and always feel welcome. The staff make this home the lovely place it is. Not the
bricks and mortar.

My parents have been residents at Aden Lodge Care Home for 3-4 months and I've been very happy with their care. Once they settled in and got used to their surroundings they have been happy and content. They both tell me that the staff are caring and kind to them and I witness that for myself when I
visit. There are enrichment activities for residents and they are catered for according to their individual physical and psychological needs in addition to their personal preferences. They really like the food and are also offered regular snacks and drinks between mealtimes. The home is well managed and I am confident that if I did have any concerns they would be addressed promptly. I'm happy to recommend Aden Lodge.

My mother has been in Aden Lodge Care Home since the end of May this year. She is settled and very safe, and makes the most out of the facilities on site. Especially the entertainment. All of the staff are outstanding, caring, attentive and look after her every needs. I’ve not seen her as settled
as this for a very long time, and she has made friends with lots of the other residents. They appear to have a great social group of ladies. So a big thank you to everyone at Aden Lodge.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife has been a resident for over 2 years and over that period has received excellent care from friendly, caring, and professional staff. Medical and care needs have been met in a professional manner and communication with me has been excellent. The size and layout of the home provides a cosy, friendly,
and safe environment and staff are attentive and thoughtful. A good range of activities is provided and includes accommodation of particular interests of residents. The last 18 months have been stressful for all and I have been impressed and grateful for the way in which staff have kept residents safe and maintained good contact with families. The home is welcoming, very well managed and the staff are friendly and helpful in all respects.

My grandma is staying at Aden lodge Care Home after a fall at home, I was worried at first but my opinion has definitely changed. The staff are so caring, the manager stands out most she's so lovely and approachable, she came out to the garden when I was visiting to say hello and how lovely it was to
look after my grandma, that was very reassuring that I knew she was well looked after. My gran has said she thinks the food is lovely and has made some crafts to be displayed in the dining room. She would be at home on her own so knowing she’s surrounded by people is great peace of mind. The car park is pretty small and often full and the gardens quite narrow but it’s filled with flowers and nice garden furniture. Thank you to all the staff for looking after my gran.

My father (96yrs) has had his second respite care in Aden Lodge, the staff offered care and attention, to his every need.
My father's menu was varied and he was offered different social activities, but what impressed me the most was how the staff had taken the time to get to know my father and his
likes and preferences.
Having the reassures of a good quality care home allowing you to have respite and a family holiday is priceless and gave me and my family quality time together, knowing my father was being well looked after.
The only reason the rooms are good and not excellent is a shower en-suite would benefit my father.

Thank you Aden Lodge staff and thank you to the manager.

Aden Lodge is an attractive and spacious care home situated in the village of Clayton West, W. Yorkshire. However, its main asset is its well trained, knowledgeable, hard-working and responsive staff. The staff fosters impressive links with the local community, as well as a very good programme of enrichment
events inside and beyond the home. My family member suffers from multiple complex conditions. I feel completely confident that he is in the best possible hands in this excellent care home.

Aden Lodge care home is an efficient, well run home. The staff are extremely caring towards the residents and very approachable. The meals are asserted and very good. If anything could be improved on it would be an area for the residents to sit outside and get some fresh air (weather permitting) and
maybe a bit more contact, to advise how the residents are doing, with the families.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.354)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.354) out of 10 for Clayton Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.479 for Clayton Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.479
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clayton Lodge Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
