When visiting today, the communal toilet was covered in faeces. My grandmother's sheet had dried faeces and food on it. Despite clear requests not to switch her personal mini fridge off it had been switched off yet again. She currently has a chest infection yet her bed had not been raised adequately
to aid easier breathing

Good care given to Mum, always kept up to date with progress & health. Staff are all very friendly & loving towards mum & are always helpful. Lots of activities/events and entertainment are provided to residents and families are encouraged to attend & also to give their opinions regarding any improvement
etc. (Activities are excellent, just awaiting a replacement employee).

Mum is happy and well looked after. She has lots to do with a great activity team. Staff are amazing 10/10. Food is plentiful, but sometimes she doesn't know what it is, as likes plain food. We as a family cannot praise all the staff more.

Best thing we could have done for my mum was to make Field View Care Home the place for her to live in. She is happy and well taken care of. The staff go above and beyond. She is always clean and dressed well. Her bedroom is spotless. 10/10 from me.

My experience for my sister has been 'transforming' for her and us. The care and support has allowed her to grow in confidence and communication with others residents. The support staff are excellent. Her personal and medical needs are met with dignity and care. Administered with kindness which has
had a remarkable effect on her sense of wellbeing. Her weight and health has improved greatly. Due to the meal and drinks served. The facilities are excellent to assist her with her independence she has, knowing she has help at hand when needed too. Safety is paramount she and I know she safe. She joins in activities and is making friends with others and members of staff. I find this care home gives value for money. Her room is always clean, neat and tidy. Her clothes always ready clean, above and beyond care. Thank you to management and staff who go the extra mile to make her life, happier and healthier.

Staff are so helpful and will go above and beyond. The cleanliness of Chapel View Care Home is second to none - the domestic team is excellent. The home is welcoming, and the new decor is beautiful. The manager, Gemma, is open, friendly, and truly cares about her residents and staff. In my opinion,
one of the best care homes in Barnsley.

My mum June has been a resident here since October 2024, she is so well taken care of so much so that she is treated as family, the staff are all wonderful and her room is amazing, she has a small garden area that she loves and it's always kept clean and fresh, the residents are always kept stimulated
with plenty of things to do like arts and crafts and games, they get regular people in to entertain them from singers to animals all of which they really enjoy, they are not just left to rot like in some other places they are well and truly cared for,
I literally wouldn't have her anywhere else.

From day 1, Mum needed a significant amount of care. Mum was provided with a comfortable, safe and welcoming environment where she feels safe and listened to. The managers have been excellent with listening and supporting us. A social worker told us that Mum was fit to go home when clearly everyone
else could see that she wasn't. The managers called for a GP review, and 2 days after the social worker's visit, the GP put mum on a My Care Plan for end of life. I feel the staff, especially the managers hsave gone above and beyond for us, to get mum the level of care that she needs.

My dad has only been in the care home for a short time, he is on end of life care with dementia. The moment we entered the home I knew we had chosen the best place for dad. The home is modern, clean. His bedroom is large, homely with ensuite. The manager is approachable and friendly. I cannot praise
the staff enough. They are amazing, they treat dad with love and respect. I know he is well looked after and comfortable. I can go home from visiting with peace of mind knowing he is in safe hands. It was the right decision for dad.

I am very pleased with my overall experience since my mum has resided at Cedars Care Home. My mum is a lot happier, she's putting the weight back on (as she lost far too much living on her own) and most of all my mum is safe. The staff are all lovely and always answer, help with any concerns. Overall
Cedars staff are excellent.

Up to this month I have had nothing whatsoever dealings with care homes. These are just observations.
Rooms are drab, no pictures on the walls, no comfortable chairs.
My sister has declined while in - no motivation. Sitting on corridors does not encourage converstion with other residents, difficult
for visitors. My sister was upset by a resident while sitting on corridor, a resident advised us, reported to carer, but didn't think taken seriously - this helped with her decline.
Reply from Andrew Wood, Director at Clayton House Care HomeHello Cath,

Thank you for your review. Following the home being purchased by Wood Care Group we have started a huge renovation project this includes all new furniture, replacing windows and doors, the whole home is being decorated. We would love to show you the new lounge, dining rooms, residents pub and entrance coffee bar. We have also increase the activity provision.

We hope that you can see the impact these changes are having positively for the residents as so far feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Please feel free to contact the home manager who would be happy to discuss further.

My dad moved to Northfield in May 2025 and it was immediately clear it was the best place for his long term needs. The staff are always friendly, respectful, and take time to get to know residents and their families. The Dementia Unit Manger Fletch, is approachable, supportive and always keeps me updated
on Dad's health and care. The Care Home Manager, Dawn is also very approachable and follows up on any queries quickly. Northfield has a warm, family like atmosphere, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
