Since my mother entered Longwood Lodge, I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the Team and their dedication to all residents and their families.
From a warm welcome to regular updates and personal attention to care, I have always felt reassured that my mum is in "the right place" and that
there is no need to worry as all communication links are readily available if/when needed.
At times, I have noticed the Team go above and beyond to meet the needs of residents, inparticular when meeting specific dietary needs to appease ongoing demands and requests from residents (or requests from wider family members).

I have been a resident at Longwood lodge for nearly a year now. Everything I have experienced is excellent, the staff, manager, are amazing. I still have my independence and this is valuable to me. My daughter lives across the world and her knowing I'm so well cared for and happy gives her reassurance.
Moving into Longwood has been the best decision I have made. I'm extremely happy here and could not be better looked after. This is my home

As the nephew of a resident at Fountains Care Home in Swinton, I can't speak highly enough of the care and compassion shown to my uncle during his time there. From the moment he arrived, the staff made him (and us as a family) feel completely welcome and supported.

The atmosphere in the home is calm,

warm, and respectful. You can tell that the staff genuinely care - not only are they professional and attentive, but they take the time to get to know each resident personally, treating them with dignity and kindness. My uncle often spoke about how safe and comfortable he felt, and he clearly enjoyed the company of both the team and other residents.

The communication with us as a family was excellent. We were always kept informed and involved in decisions, and staff were always happy to answer questions or offer reassurance when needed.

The home itself is spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and feels more like a family home than a facility. The activities and social events were al

I received excellent care at The Cedars. I was discharged from hospital unable to walk or stand and they found a place for me overnight and immediately I was wheeled into the home I felt safe. I have coeliac disease and they were so careful in catering for me, never made me feel a nuisance and didn't
make me sick once - more than can be said for many restaurants! I was dangerously underweight when I went in and they fed me so well I put on a stone and a half in the 3 months I was there. The carers could not have been kinder or more encouraging as I slowly got more mobile. I celebrated my 70th birthday there and they made it a special day. Like many elderly people who live alone I have always had a bit of a dread of ending my days in a care home but The Cedars has taken that away completely

The staff are always kind and helpful. Saturday and Sundays always seem light in staff and management. I do find the incontinence pads inadequate, sometimes they are at the bottom of the trouser leg. The meal times I often see food stains down the front of residents, which could be remedied by a plastic-based
Tabard, which then could be wiped down, saving mounds of washing.
Reply from Andrew Wood, Director at Field View Care Home

Thank you for your review and feedback. To address a few points raised staffing levels within the home are the same every day of the week with the exception of weekends whereby the assistant deputy managers work in the home when the manager is off. In respect of continence aids these are supplied via the local authority continence team who asses how many each resident requires. Finally in respect of tabards these are readily available for all residents however residents can of course choose if they wish to wear them based on their own individual preferences.I hope that explains the areas you have raised and once again thank you for your feedback.

After being very independent for most of her life, my 103yr old mum decided it was time for her to be moved to a residential home. After viewing many homes in the Oldham area, upon viewing Longwood, my brother and myself decided on Longwood. From the moment we stepped inside, the general relaxed and
comfortable atmosphere was plain to see and the feeling of content was very easily visible. The Manager and her assistant came across as very adept during our introduction to Longwood. Since arriving in late May, I have had a huge weight taken of my shoulders knowing that my mum is extremely happy in a super, caring place , with staff around her showing love and patience for the residents. I've never seen her eat as much as she is such a fussy eater. That's saying something, as my mum has never drank tea, coffee or milk. My compliments to the managers and staff. You are brilliant. Thank you.
