AVOID !
No activities even though they advertise this, in fact no stimulation provided whatsoever.
States also on here they provide Dementia Residential but untrue only basic Residential.
Unable to provide the basic CORE care ie. The fitting of placing in ear aids, denture and glasses.
Room was
never deep cleaned.
There never use the court yard for residents even though thats there main photo sell point.
The front door area is full of cigarette dimps and litter, staff constantly on cigarette breaks etc.
Senior staff hidden in the office.
Dad was left alone in his room for long periods and soiled.
He wasnt by far the worse resident for dementia on the residential floor in fact they claim to offer Moderate to severe dementia care.
The fact since he has moved to a new care home and he has shown to be better all round is testament to how bad the home really is and its staff.

To provide clarity our home has three units residential, general nursing and dementia nursing this is stated on our profile.
In respect of activities and entertainment we are sorry you feel that none were provided however I can assure you the home employs full time activity coordinators who provide daily activities they make use of our facilities such as residents pub, cinema room, quiet lounges, hair dressing salon and interactive digital games board. You can also see the regular events that take place on both our website and Facebook page.
We would also like to assure you the home takes cleanliness very seriously and we will certainly review your concerns to the housekeeping team. The home does record daily room cleans for all residents rooms but I can only apologise if your expectations were not met.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, both daytime and nighttime, in the residential and the nursing suite for the care, comfort and love that was provided for my mother-in-law during the 18 month period of her stay at The Fountains Care Centre. My mother-in-law arrived as a
resident following an intense few months of ill health and hospital stays. After just two weeks, her baseline improved tremendously, enabling her to settle happily into life at The Fountains, where she made friends amongst other residents and indeed the staff. Her room was so pretty and the staff tended to her every need, treating her as an individual, listening to her concerns and encouraging her independent decision making. Eventually, after being diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, her gradual transition into nursing care upstairs was handled impeccably, where she spent her final days surrounded by genuine love from all the staff. For this and much more besides, I will be eternally grateful.

As the nephew of a resident at Fountains Care Home in Swinton, I can't speak highly enough of the care and compassion shown to my uncle during his time there. From the moment he arrived, the staff made him (and us as a family) feel completely welcome and supported.
The atmosphere in the home is calm,
warm, and respectful. You can tell that the staff genuinely care - not only are they professional and attentive, but they take the time to get to know each resident personally, treating them with dignity and kindness. My uncle often spoke about how safe and comfortable he felt, and he clearly enjoyed the company of both the team and other residents.
The communication with us as a family was excellent. We were always kept informed and involved in decisions, and staff were always happy to answer questions or offer reassurance when needed.
The home itself is spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and feels more like a family home than a facility. The activities and social events were al

My mother has been a resident in The Fountains Care Centre for 18 months and has been happy and settled there. The regular staff are friendly and approachable and have lovely relationships with the residents. There is a culture of transparency, and concerns and requests raised by myself have been dealt
with in a responsive way. I have been impressed with senior staff's knowledge and understanding of dementia and their dealing with medical issues and dispensing medication.

Overall very happy with service provided. Staff on Lowry very caring, attentive, compassionate (days). Activities would have been marked as poor but on Wednesday (11/12) was a huge success and big improvement, much laughter on Lowry. Occasionally disappointed with night staff as I can come in some morning
and my wife has not been attended to by night staff.

I think the unit and staff are excellent, caring and professional and give all residents constant care and full attention at all times. I myself have witnessed all as these statements and I'm proud to say it's a homely and inviting atmosphere for myself in my visits.

Mum has been at The Fountains since 2021 and sadly passed away on 26th August 2024. During Mum's time at The Fountains we have shared a few difficult times with management and staff but none as difficult as Mum's passing. I cannot praise everyone enough for the way we were treated over the long weekend
leading up to Mum's passing. We spent the weekend with Mum and the staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given advice, guidance, love and support which helped us immensely. The care they gave to Mum at this sad time was 'second to none' and Mum passed away peacefully. Thank you to each and every one at The Fountains. Carry on your good work

Cannot thank the staff at The Fountains enough for all the care, kindness and compassion they show Mum.
Mum recently had to move care homes due to a care home closure, which caused a lot of unrest and upset with the family, however, we could not have wished for a better placement. The bedrooms are
lovely & homely, Mum actually sleeps in her bed - something that she rarely did previously. The lounges are airy and bright, and the food/choice of food is very good.
What makes The Fountains so good is the staff - reception staff, management, domestic staff, and wonderful carers, everyone clearly enjoys looking after the residents and ensuring their needs are met. They know just 'how to handle' the residents and make them feel safe.
Nothing is too much trouble, even when we phoned every day when Mum first went there, we were never made to feel a nuisance and were encouraged to ring and check on Mum knowing how worrying it can be for families placing Mum in a new setting.

My mum moved here from another care home 6 months ago and the change in her is wonderful, she engages with both staff and other residents in the lovely communal area. After her initial settling in teething problems due to her dementia, I am very pleased that she has adapted so well. The home is still
undergoing some refurbishment but all that is positive and makes the environment very pleasing.

After returning from hospital with pneumonia which it wasn't. She was just left to fend for herself unless we moaned about it, I came in the Tuesday before mam passed on the Friday. She was slumped at the dining table with no response, tried picking her up and she was a dead weight, then the main care
nurse said there was something wrong and took her blood pressure which was 68 over 51, then she decided to phone the doctor, by this time mam was none coherent, went to the hospital with a strangulated hernia and died 4 days later.
Reply from Andrew Wood, Director at The Fountains Care CentrePlease accept our condolences on the passing of your mother. We take the care we provide very seriously. We have reviewed all care records which evidence regular care and checks were provided. We would be more than happy to discuss this further if you would like and don't hesitate to contact the management team.

My nana went to The Fountains as she could no longer cope when my grandad passed away.
She has now settled in well and although she doesn't normally socialise easily, she has already made a close friend. It is so nice visiting her now, she looks happier and has started to eat proper meals again. The
staff and management team are so friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I looked at a few homes in the area as I was looking for a certain special feeling which I knew I would get when I found the right one. On going to The Fountains, it was instant. There was laughing and joking in the reception area where I was welcomed by a friendly smile. The receptionist was laughing
with a staff member and another visitor. It immediately felt like Home. My mother-in-law moved in the following week. She was always the life and soul of our family but due to becoming unwell had lost her sparkle. But, after only a few weeks, she has blossomed. The care and attention she has received makes my heart swell. It makes me and my son smile each time we visit. Please, if you are worried or wondering is this home the right home for your loved one, then don't hesitate. It has definitely eased any worries we had.

Amazing place! My auntie was looked after so well at The Fountains Care Centre.
The staff and management went above and beyond to make her stay the best it could be.
They are so caring and want the best for everyone in the home.
I would recommend the Fountains Care Centre to anyone.

Poor. Removed my Mum from here as the standard of care fell below basic. Dirty bed linen, cutlery, lack of stimulation, missing clothes and fiddle items. Half-eaten soap in her room. My list is endless and management and staff are not at all interested in any concerns we raised. I would not recommend
this home whatsoever.
Reply from Andrew Wood, Director at The Fountains Care CentreWe’re sorry to hear you didn’t have a good experience with our home. My uncle stayed in the care home on respite. He was well looked after, staff were friendly, treated my uncle with dignity throughout his stay. Would recommend this home to anyone. Management are approachable. The home has been under refurbishment and is ongoing and looks very nice. If my uncle needed
respite I would like him to stay in The Fountains.

My grandad has not been at The Fountains long and I can honestly say I can't fault the care he receives. I love how the staff are with my grandad. He was quiet when he first moved into the home as he was nervous but the management and staff have been amazing with him and me as his family. Thank you
so much for all you have done. We're looking forward to the events going on in the home.

Staff are all very friendly and the staff who greet you on entering the care home make you feel very welcome. Upon entering The Fountains you get a sense of calm and peacefulness and no matter where you go you are always greeted with a smile. Staff seem to genuinely care for the residents and there
are activities to stimulate their minds and keep them active where possible. The manager is very approachable and very proactive in dealing with requests or queries. This care centre definitely tries to ensure the residents and their families are completely happy with the service they receive.
