Since my mother entered Longwood Lodge, I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the Team and their dedication to all residents and their families.
From a warm welcome to regular updates and personal attention to care, I have always felt reassured that my mum is in "the right place" and that
there is no need to worry as all communication links are readily available if/when needed.
At times, I have noticed the Team go above and beyond to meet the needs of residents, inparticular when meeting specific dietary needs to appease ongoing demands and requests from residents (or requests from wider family members).

I have been a resident at Longwood lodge for nearly a year now. Everything I have experienced is excellent, the staff, manager, are amazing. I still have my independence and this is valuable to me. My daughter lives across the world and her knowing I'm so well cared for and happy gives her reassurance.
Moving into Longwood has been the best decision I have made. I'm extremely happy here and could not be better looked after. This is my home

As the nephew of a resident at Fountains Care Home in Swinton, I can't speak highly enough of the care and compassion shown to my uncle during his time there. From the moment he arrived, the staff made him (and us as a family) feel completely welcome and supported.

The atmosphere in the home is calm,

warm, and respectful. You can tell that the staff genuinely care - not only are they professional and attentive, but they take the time to get to know each resident personally, treating them with dignity and kindness. My uncle often spoke about how safe and comfortable he felt, and he clearly enjoyed the company of both the team and other residents.

The communication with us as a family was excellent. We were always kept informed and involved in decisions, and staff were always happy to answer questions or offer reassurance when needed.

The home itself is spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and feels more like a family home than a facility. The activities and social events were al

After being very independent for most of her life, my 103yr old mum decided it was time for her to be moved to a residential home. After viewing many homes in the Oldham area, upon viewing Longwood, my brother and myself decided on Longwood. From the moment we stepped inside, the general relaxed and
comfortable atmosphere was plain to see and the feeling of content was very easily visible. The Manager and her assistant came across as very adept during our introduction to Longwood. Since arriving in late May, I have had a huge weight taken of my shoulders knowing that my mum is extremely happy in a super, caring place , with staff around her showing love and patience for the residents. I've never seen her eat as much as she is such a fussy eater. That's saying something, as my mum has never drank tea, coffee or milk. My compliments to the managers and staff. You are brilliant. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident in The Fountains Care Centre for 18 months and has been happy and settled there. The regular staff are friendly and approachable and have lovely relationships with the residents. There is a culture of transparency, and concerns and requests raised by myself have been dealt
with in a responsive way. I have been impressed with senior staff's knowledge and understanding of dementia and their dealing with medical issues and dispensing medication.

My mother was a resident at Longwood lodge from July 2024 until she passed away on 10th April 2025. Myself and my brother would like say what wonderful care she received being treated with respect and dignity. The Manager was brilliant who kept us up to date every day with mum's general well-being.
The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them and they communicated well with relatives. We couldn't have asked for a better place for our mum to be cared for in the last months of her life.

After various hospital admissions, it was decided my dad could no longer manage living alone so I had to look for a suitable care home. On arriving at Longwood lodge I was greeted by friendly happy caring staff who showed us a large room which was exactly what we needed for him. It has been a year since
he was admitted, well what can I say the management team and staff can't do enough for him. The manager goes above and beyond for the residents and families alike nothing is too much trouble for all parties concerned. I would have no hesitation in recommending Longwood Lodge to anyone who is considering a place for their loved ones.

Overall very happy with service provided. Staff on Lowry very caring, attentive, compassionate (days). Activities would have been marked as poor but on Wednesday (11/12) was a huge success and big improvement, much laughter on Lowry. Occasionally disappointed with night staff as I can come in some morning
and my wife has not been attended to by night staff.

Mum has been at The Fountains since 2021 and sadly passed away on 26th August 2024. During Mum's time at The Fountains we have shared a few difficult times with management and staff but none as difficult as Mum's passing. I cannot praise everyone enough for the way we were treated over the long weekend
leading up to Mum's passing. We spent the weekend with Mum and the staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given advice, guidance, love and support which helped us immensely. The care they gave to Mum at this sad time was 'second to none' and Mum passed away peacefully. Thank you to each and every one at The Fountains. Carry on your good work

Cannot thank the staff at The Fountains enough for all the care, kindness and compassion they show Mum.
Mum recently had to move care homes due to a care home closure, which caused a lot of unrest and upset with the family, however, we could not have wished for a better placement. The bedrooms are
lovely & homely, Mum actually sleeps in her bed - something that she rarely did previously. The lounges are airy and bright, and the food/choice of food is very good.
What makes The Fountains so good is the staff - reception staff, management, domestic staff, and wonderful carers, everyone clearly enjoys looking after the residents and ensuring their needs are met. They know just 'how to handle' the residents and make them feel safe.
Nothing is too much trouble, even when we phoned every day when Mum first went there, we were never made to feel a nuisance and were encouraged to ring and check on Mum knowing how worrying it can be for families placing Mum in a new setting.

My mum moved here from another care home 6 months ago and the change in her is wonderful, she engages with both staff and other residents in the lovely communal area. After her initial settling in teething problems due to her dementia, I am very pleased that she has adapted so well. The home is still
undergoing some refurbishment but all that is positive and makes the environment very pleasing.

After returning from hospital with pneumonia which it wasn't. She was just left to fend for herself unless we moaned about it, I came in the Tuesday before mam passed on the Friday. She was slumped at the dining table with no response, tried picking her up and she was a dead weight, then the main care
nurse said there was something wrong and took her blood pressure which was 68 over 51, then she decided to phone the doctor, by this time mam was none coherent, went to the hospital with a strangulated hernia and died 4 days later.

Please accept our condolences on the passing of your mother. We take the care we provide very seriously. We have reviewed all care records which evidence regular care and checks were provided. We would be more than happy to discuss this further if you would like and don't hesitate to contact the management team.

My mother has been a resident at Longwood for 2 and a half years. I feel so lucky that a place was found for her at a very traumatic time. She was admitted for respite but I knew that she would not be coming back to her home. She is cared for wonderfully by all the staff. The home is welcoming, clean
and there is lots going on to keep the residents entertained. The manager is always approachable and is one the most caring people I have met.

My Mum has been at Longwood since July 2023. From the first moment I knocked on the door to look around I was made to feel welcome by the manager and have been supported as a family member ever since. All of the staff and the manager are absolutely wonderful with the residents. It's plain to see that
they know each of them so well and take the time to recognise their individual needs in such a warm way. It honestly does feel like I'm visiting a very large family rather than a care home. Our Mum has always been sociable and has always hated being on her own. Losing the ability to get out had not only affected her physically but also affected her wellbeing. It means the world to see her now having a laugh constantly with lovely people who care, doing activities each day that she loves, and feeling safe and not anxious anymore. It's brought our Mum back to being our Mum, and that difference is clear both at Longwood and when we go out. I would recommend Longwood to anyone.
