Dad was initially admitted to North Ferriby Nursing Home as a fall risk. We were concerned he would not settle. This however was not the case. In extreme circumstances, whilst in the home, Mum (who was in NFNH too) passed away, and dad struggled without her by his side after 62 years of marriage. Dad had many moments of sadness and low mood. During these times. The staff were so patient with him. And very supportive to our family too offering words of wisdom. Visiting hours were great, we visited around our and Dad's needs. Whenever Dad was leaving the home he was always ready and prepared. The nurses were knowledgeable and fast to act in emergencies which happened with Mum and Dad both due to failing health. The service provided by the local GP to the home is fantastic. Dad was allowed to be as independent as he was able with his frame. Dad found the food usually good, loved the soups, and Friday Fish and Chips. A beautiful home with loads of character, it's currently undergoing room upgrades.
Cannot recommend highly enough for this home. My mother was admitted here for the last few weeks of her life and the care and respect the staff showed to her was exceptional. She was treated with dignity and her wishes for the end of her life were respected and adhered to. The information and advice we, as a family received was outstanding. Our thanks go to each and every one there for a job well done!
My father is very content and well cared for.
My husband was admitted to the nursing home. The staff are all lovely and so encouraging. He settled in very well and looks like a new man. We are extremely happy with the care and treatment received by my husband. We would be very happy to recommend the home to others.
My family have been very happy with the care and attention afforded to our mother over the last 5 years. They must have gone through the most difficult time possible with the COVID pandemic in recent years. The fear of the illness entering the home and the damage it would cause must have given all concerned sleepless nights. I am happy to recommend this home, its owners and staff have provided a caring home in the last difficult years of my mother's life.
Thank you for your kind comments, it was difficult, but we kept a smile on our faces and tried to make life as easy as possible for families and friends to keep in touch with their loved ones.
My dad spent nearly three years at North Ferriby Nursing Home and I am very happy with the quality of the facilities and the standard of care he received. It's a very homely place and the staff are very friendly and helpful and Dad seemed happy throughout his stay there.
Thank you, Richard, it was a pleasure to look after your dad and he won't be forgotten. We wish you all the best for the future.
Absolutely fantastic nursing home. The staff were exceptionally loving and kind to my mum. Every single member of staff I spoke with were so helpful and always available. Mum and I were made to feel special and we felt like it was a second home. It felt like the staff were a team, a family, and most of them have been there 20-30 years. That says it all. Thank you!
My 80-year-old mother has been caring for my stepdad for the last 5 years until she could no longer lift and manage him in his own home and reluctantly placed him in care at Ferriby Hall. She booked in to make a visit and we rang the bell at the conservatory. The senior carer opened the door and abruptly told us that only my mother was booked in to see my stepdad. My mum has been so worried and concerned if he had settled and the fact that her partner has been so ill, we had travelled a fair distance to see him, we were not expecting such a horrible greeting. We were not made to feel welcome at all. We were not offered a drink or given any information on how he has been. We were told so abruptly to put hand gel on and to put a face mask on. Then left to wait at the door until the senior carer went to ask if it was ok if my husband and I could also see our loved one. After gaining consent we were led to a dark room where his water and pee bottle was out of reach. Not a nice place.
Unfortunately, as a home, we are unable to get involved in family disputes and disagreements. It was your step-sister who greeted you at the front door. It is the home's policy and standard practice to ask all visitors to wear fresh type 2 masks, use hand sanitiser and that no more than 2 people...
The overall impression was very good to excellent. The ones marked satisfactory I had no person contact with - ie activities.
Thank you for your review, we very much appreciate your views as these help us to improve our service.
My daughter was so well looked after she is very happy to come in for respite.
My mother has been cared for in the home for the last nine months. Her care has been excellent. The staff are all professional and kind and she was very happy there. The manager was able to keep the home Covid free until the very infectious variant arrived and then prompt action brought it rapidly under control.
Our dad is very well cared for, all the staff treat him with respect and compassion. He is very happy which has given us comfort during these difficult times. A member of staff is always available to answer any queries. Very much a home from home with good staff consistency.
My mother has received ongoing, excellent care from everyone - management, all carers including the chef, exercise leaders and hairdresser. They all treat the residents with respect, empathy and truly care about every individual. During Covid for the last two years, their protocols have really paid off, preventing residents, as far as possible, from contracting the virus. It has been hard for families - unable to enter the home to hug or kiss loved ones but the home has tried to mitigate the situation by providing an intercom system either side of glass and latterly a summer house. I can't praise them all enough!
You have done very well to keep Covid effects down to a minimum. You must be congratulated on this achievement. Well done (one case that we know of). Mum seems very happy there and likes her room. Food was better before - that's her only improvement comment. So overall, very happy, thank you!
Mum and Dad moved into a double room together 6 months ago - Dad with very limited mobility and Mum with dementia. The staff are kind, caring, knowledgeable and highly competent. The home is clean and inviting and always smells fresh. Mum and Dad love the company, the food and knowing they are safe. They are always clean and tidy and well looked after. The family love the "can-do" attitude from the manager through all types of staff. I hope they have a room for me when I need such care!
When visiting I have found the staff very friendly and helpful. The home is always clean, and warm and I have on occasions had meals with my wife and have no complaints about the quality and variety of the food. Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, I have not been in my wife's room.
We have been so pleased and relieved that mum was able to join this lovely care home. The staff are always friendly, and caring and the manager has been extremely helpful and nice. Mum has settled in really well and appears happy and secure. You can't ask for more.
It is very good, I could not wish for better.
she is well looked after and cared for, and respected by the staff. The food is excellent too. Her clothes are always clean. During non-Covid times, they would normally have people coming in to stimulate the residents.
The children of the local nursery used to come in to see the residents which they loved. Hopefully, these times will come back eventually. We are very thankful for the care the staff give my mum, and all the help they have given over this time. They are approachable, should you wish to discuss anything.
Every element of this place is lovely and puts our mind at ease, aside from being a grand building and well catered for, the staff make this place a home from home. There wasn’t one member of staff who wasn’t kind, caring and considerate. They made the whole process easy and I am so grateful to them for all that they did and all the small little details they added to make my mum's life happier and easier.
