My sister and I are extremely happy knowing that mum is in there as although she is a residential client there are nurses on site 24hrs/day so when something has happened then there has been a very quick response.
My father stayed at the nursing home for 5 weeks to convalesce and to give us a rest. He, and we, found the experience very positive. He particularly commented on the very good food (and he is a coeliac) and the warm, friendly and good-humoured staff.
A member of staff set up a wi-fi connection for him, which made a huge difference, as he uses his laptop a lot.
The only way in which the experience could have been better would have been if a staff member could have taken him out walking, which was crucial for his rehabilitation. Family members had to ensure that they were available to do that.
Overall - a warm, friendly family atmosphere in a lovely building
After four months in different hospitals, my husband was discharged to the nursing home. He arrived there on a stretcher in a frail state.
After six weeks there he came home walking, cheerful and robust. He received excellent care and help in the home to enable him to achieve these results.
My father moved into this nursing home in early July. He was both frail and suffering from certain long term health problems that we felt were not being met fully at his earlier residential home. Our decision proved to be the right one.
Since his arrival there he was treated with compassion, dignity and professionalism by all of the staff. His first week or so seemed to show a considerable improvement in his general state of well being. He seemed to have regained his mojo, so to speak. Alas, the return of a urinary infection seems to have taken its toll and he finally got his wish to meet up once more with my mother, his wife of 73 years. I do believe his final days were made that much more bearable by the very kind attention he received by all of the staff who were so kind and understanding. It was as though he felt comfortable with his surroundings and could finally let go. I will for ever be grateful to the manager and all her staff for all that they did for my Dad. Thank you.
My husband has stayed here for respite during the past two years. The management team and all staff are accessible and friendly and are extremely willing to provide our needs. All the staff show a loving concern for all the residents, treating them with respect, patience and a sense of humour.
Family and friends are made to feel welcome and are invited to have refreshments.
The informal comfortable seating in the spacious conservatory encourages residents to socialise.
A varied programme of activities helps to stimulate mind and body.
I would recommend Ferriby House Nursing Home if a family member or friend needed care or treatment. Overall, their standards are high. Care and support is excellent. Residents are treated with dignity. The staff and management are professional and friendly. Facilities are good. All rooms are kept clean. The food is very good. The environment feels homely, welcoming and safe.
If on pre-odd occasion they haven't had the chance to clean them up they always apologise and say they'll do it very soon without any prompting.
My mother has been a resident since February of 2017. She had a stroke in December. The leadership team and staff at the home have been very caring and attentive. It is a very friendly home with the right service attitude. My mother enjoys the activities and the food which is of a high standard. The home is clean and does not have an odour like other homes I have been in. I would highly recommend it.
The food is nutritious and varied and the chef obliging.
All in all, if you are unfortunate to be indisposed, this is the place to be.
The day room is a delight with its 17th-century charm.
My nana has been at Ferriby house for nearly 3 years! I am so pleased with the care she receives. My nana has dementia and can be difficult to care for at times but the staff are very patient kind and caring when dealing with my nana. All the staff and management are very approachable and are quick to deal with any problems or questions me and my family may have. The food is always home cooked with local produce and always looks lovely and always hot! The cleanliness of the home is great there is always domestic staff around. Overall I am very pleased with the care my nana receives. Management and all staff are lovely all the family can be at home and be assured she is getting the best care she deserves.
The staff were always cheerful and kind to Mum and treated her with respect and dignity.
Mum was always clean and nicely dressed, happy and content.
The home was always fresh and clean.
I feel so fortunate that I found this establishment. They treated Mum like one of their own and I was always confident she was in safe hands.
They always kept me well informed regarding her well-being and were so kind to both Mum and me at the time of her passing away.
I would recommend this care home as a well managed, well kept, caring and homely place.
