Overall Experience

Lindum House has a homely feel and the upstairs lounge is bright and airy. I occasionally find the home to be a bit short staffed and I sometimes find myself alone in the lounge with several residents who then need attention. Maybe a regular check of the residents in the lounge could commence, so I don't feel so responsible for their welfare. That said, the staff are kind and caring and respect the resident's dignity in all their interactions with them.

Reply from Pauline Hodgson, GM at Barchester Lindum House

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. Following your observation, staff are to be reminded to enter the lounge to offer help and support to our residents as opposed to observing from the corridor. We intend to utilise the first floor lounge more regularly for activities and events which will ensure staff are in attendance.

All of the staff - carers, management, kitchen staff, maintenance staff are caring, efficient and cohesive. They are thoughtful, well organised and have kept me well informed. They have responded with humour and positive ideas to requests.

I think the home has an excellent atmosphere and is well maintained outside and in.

As the home's activity assistant, I feel it is most important to know the residents, their likes and dislikes this ensures that person-centred program of events and activities can be planned and facilitated.

Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward to.

I've worked in health and social care for around 15 years. I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!

I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated', everyone is different, and it's important to focus on each individual's wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!

Our residents' smiles are my reward; it makes me so happy to see them enjoying themselves.

Hi, my name is Jacqui and I am proud to be the Hair & Beauty Therapist here at Lindum House. I have been in post since May 2004. I am no stranger to Lindum House, having worked here for 20 years.

As the home's Hairdresser & Manicurist, I feel a sense of achievement every single week, knowing that my residents look and feel so much better after they visit me.

Here at Lindum House, we are fortunate to have our little salon, which the residents relax and socialise in; it really is quite the little social hub! I feel that social activities at any stage of life are important to a person’s wellbeing, both physically & mentally.

In my spare time, I enjoy swimming & Paddleboarding, I just love the water; I also have a house rabbit called ‘Billy Bear’, whom I may bring in to visit the residents occasionally.

It's my absolute pleasure to visit Lindum House weekly and make our residents feel Fabulous; Not to mention getting them ready for Lindum’s parties and monthly social events.
