Hi, my name is Steph. I am the Registered Manager at Craven Nursing Home.
I have worked here for over 20 years, starting as a Care Assistant in 2002. I have been a Registered General Nurse now for over 15 years. I was Clinical Lead on nights for a year before being promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2020, and subsequently Home Manager in June 2023.
My passion has always been Palliative/End of Life Care, being able to deliver Person-Centred Care, in a respectful and dignified way to our residents and giving support to our relatives.
I enjoy delivering the very best care to our residents with kindness, dignity, and compassion. We have very experienced and caring members of staff at Craven, and I am proud to be part of this fantastic team!
I always knew I wanted to be a nurse when I was a child, and from a young age, my passion allowed me to make this a reality.
Growing up in the East London Borough of Hackney, with strong family values and a proud, caring Mum, I always had a great desire to help and care for my community.
I started my career working in a Stroke Unit in London, progressing to become a Sister in a Trauma and Elective Orthopaedic Ward in Manchester. Here, I was promoted to Ward Manager, where I led a close-knit and effective team. I was proud to have championed many new initiatives, ultimately leading to us achieving and maintaining a Gold standard Ward Accreditation for several years running.
My husband and I decided to leave the rat race of the big city and move to the countryside, where we could bring up our three-year-old son on a farm in Lothersdale and pursue our hobbies of gardening, veg growing and walking.
I arrived in the UK in December 2021, and I’m incredibly proud that by May 2022, I achieved what I consider my biggest life accomplishment: becoming a UK Registered Nurse.
Working as a Nurse in a Dementia Unit was always challenging yet fulfilling. Now, as the Swan Unit Manager, I’m excited to continue making a difference in the lives of both our residents and their families. It’s truly a great honour for me to be part of their journey.
In my spare time, I love being outdoors and spending quality time with my two daughters, Ara and Aliah. We enjoy playing in the park and simply being together.
Hello, I’m Lauren, one of the Registered General Nurses (RGNs) at Craven Nursing Home. I arrived from the Philippines in 2021 and have been dedicated to working in care homes, having joined the Craven team in October 2022.
Back in my hometown, I had the privilege of caring for my grandparents, and this experience ignited my passion for nursing. Working at Craven always evokes fond memories of my grandparents, which fuels my commitment to providing the best care to our residents and being a valuable team member alongside my colleagues.
I find immense satisfaction in bringing smiles and positivity to our residents, contributing to the overall well-being of our home.
Hi, my name is Ros. I've worked at Craven Nursing Home for 8 years, with 44 years of nursing experience.

I love working with our residents and my team, and I wouldn't work anywhere else!

I’ve been working at Craven Nursing Home for 15 years, previously working at a private hospital as a hospital services manager. Having found my passion for care, I moved into housekeeping 7 years ago.
Hi, I'm Maria, and I've dedicated the past 12 years to caring for others. I joined the Craven team in October, and I'm passionate about building meaningful relationships with our residents. I love learning about their unique stories and discovering what brings them joy. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves.
As a veteran-friendly care home, we have a special responsibility to honour and celebrate the courage and sacrifices of our veterans. I believe it's essential to provide the utmost care and support to those who have served our country.
Hi, my name is Katie Williscroft, and I am one of the Activity Coordinators at Craven Nursing Home.
I started working in housekeeping at Craven in February 2023, transferring to activities in September of the same year.
I love working with and getting to know all the residents. The best part of my job is hearing all the residents’ stories and making them smile.
I'm an outgoing and friendly person who loves to make new memories with residents, making their stay with us fun and enjoyable.
My name is Phil Hobson, and I’m the Activities Driver for Spellman Care.
Before starting at Spellman Care, I spent 16 years at the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, where I was Head Gardener and Head of Maintenance.
I joined Spellman Care at Springbank Care Home in March 2024, initially working in maintenance, before successfully transitioning to my current position across the group.
I thoroughly enjoy driving residents on outings to various destinations, working as part of the Spellman Care Activities Team.
Outside of work, I’m a keen guitarist, composer, and music producer. I’m also a co-organiser of “Groovy Happening,” a music event based in Howarth that has been running for 13 years. We’ve raised over £55,000 for Manorlands Hospice to date.

I joined Craven in November 2023, and I’m proud to be a nurse because caring for others is something I truly love. I am kind, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting those who are most vulnerable. What I enjoy most about working at Craven is the supportive environment and the wonderful people around me – our residents, their families, and my colleagues.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my four-year-old son. We love going on rides together and visiting new places. I’m a happy, bubbly person, and I love bringing joy to our residents, their relatives, and the team I work alongside.
