I cannot speak too highly of the Ghyll Royd Nursing Home - my family & I could not have wished for more.
The staff were wonderful and so very kind to my late husband and the surroundings and rooms were a pleasure to visit.
I found all the staff to be very supporting and kindness itself.

Ghyll Royd is definitely to be highly recommended for its care and comfort provided to the sick patients that it has in its care.

In addition to the excellent day to day care that mum receives she has had two big events since moving in - her grandson's wedding and her 92nd birthday. The team at Steeton Court have been brilliant- helping with arrangements to enable her to attend the wedding; organising assistance on the day to accompany mum to and from the ceremony, someone who was by mum's side throughout the day and got her settled back in to her room over a welcome cup of tea. A tiring but memorable day for her.
The staff also made mum's birthday really special for her - and us. Handmade card, balloons, bunting and a super birthday cake served with pots of tea! Fabulous.

These important events in residents' lives show just how much the team genuinely care and go above and beyond.

The few times I've visited I have always found the staff very welcoming, friendly + very professional. Anything you need they will go above + beyond to find it for you. It must be hard enough to accept having dementia but the staff on the dementia clinic are so kind + helpful. They never stop. Both myself + my wife appreciate so much everything the staff have done + carry on doing for Mum.

Big Thanks!

Overall Experience
My mum spent the last week of her life in Steeton Court and I have to say after a bad experience at another care home with my father , Steeton Court restored my faith in care homes .
The staff treated her with respect, anything she wanted , custards for breakfast, dinner and tea no problem , Horlicks at midday no problem.
They treated my mum like a family member as they did us , we were kept up to date on everything, nothing hidden , open , honest and caring , respect and kindness .
The day my mum passed the staff stayed late , never leaving me to struggle, a hug always available and my mum who did not want to go into a care home , felt safe and comfortable.

I honestly can't speak of you all highly enough .

Staff care and activities were lovely and kind to my mum. My only points are I feel the nursing staff didn't discuss my mum's care with me on a regular basis, no feedback/reviews meeting or "keyworker appointed" to my mum for me to contact, this would be a good thing to happen for future relatives I feel. Secondly when my mum was admitted I had no introductory meeting with management. I felt this wasn't helpful and unprofessional of the care home.

Although sadly my husband was only in your care for a short time I knew he was happy there. It was such a relief to say 'goodnight' and 'see you tomorrow' and to know that he was going to be well cared for until I saw him the next day. You can not put a price on the peace of mind this brought when I was no longer able to look after him myself.

The whole experience at Ghyll Royd Care Home was excellent. From the manager to every level of staff in the building, we were made welcome in the home. The nursing staff and team on "Beech" were caring, compassionate and respectful, not just to my mother, who received end-of-life care, but also to all the family at this very difficult time. Mum's end of life was dignified and comfortable, and we are eternally grateful that we chose Ghyll Royd for her final weeks.

An exceptional team of kind, caring professionals at every level. The support provided to mum and our entire family was first class and we will be forever thankful that we found Seeton Court. My mum had dementia and was a resident in Steeton Court for about 10 months. I have nothing but praise for the all the staff from management to housekeepers. The nursing and care for my mum was exceptional, unfortunately she was not always easy to deal with, but the staff were all very caring and understanding, dealing with my mum with patience and giving her space and time when she needed it. It always amazed me how busy they kept the residents with trips out, even if it was just for a coffee somewhere, and various activities at the home. Visitors were always made welcome at anytime and the staff were always available to talk to me and give updates on my mum and how she was doing. I would not hesitate to recommend Steeton court.

Review of Craven Nursing Home from Louise S (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother moved into the Craven Nursing Home in October 2025 for end of life care. Sadly, she passed away at the beginning of January 2026.
We were faced with task of finding a suitable care home for Mum and wanted to ensure the best care for her needs, in which she would be treated with respect and dignity. When we visited The Craven, we immediately felt that it was ideal for Mum. It had a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and bright, spacious rooms. We were made to feel very welcome.
When Mum moved in, we knew that we had made the right choice . We were hugely impressed with the level of care offered, which was tailored very much to Mum's needs, the professionalism, skill, understanding and compassion of all the staff and the strong sense of community at the home.

We would like to thank everyone at The Craven for their care they provided to Mum but also to us, as family members, at a very difficult time.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ghyll Royd care home.

Having visited a number of local care homes, I instantly knew that the Willow unit at Ghyll Royd was the best place for my parent's needs. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the facilities are very good- with a gorgeous conservatory and garden area. Most importantly, all the staff have that perfect mixture of being caring, skilled and professional.
