My mum had dementia and was a resident in Steeton Court for about 10 months. I have nothing but praise for the all the staff from management to housekeepers. The nursing and care for my mum was exceptional, unfortunately she was not always easy to deal with, but the staff were all very caring and understanding,
dealing with my mum with patience and giving her space and time when she needed it. It always amazed me how busy they kept the residents with trips out, even if it was just for a coffee somewhere, and various activities at the home. Visitors were always made welcome at anytime and the staff were always available to talk to me and give updates on my mum and how she was doing. I would not hesitate to recommend Steeton court.
Reply from Caroline Cowland, Home Manager at Steeton Court Nursing HomeThis is such a wonderful review and one we appreciate very much. The Team will be delighted to hear such feedback. It was a pleasure of ours to have Mum and yourself and all the family here with us. Thank you once again.

Steeton Court nursing and care staff and admin staff were all extremely attentive, kind and professional. A couple of tiny hiccups were put right quickly and very efficiently. My brother-in-law's care needs were complex, and the staff were keen to work with us to make his time there as pain-free and
pleasant as it could possibly be.
Reply from Caroline Cowland, Home Manager at Steeton Court Nursing HomeThank you for kindly leaving us a review. Our staff pride themselves on their kindness and professionalism. It was a pleasure to meet you all and to also care for your Brother-in Law.

Both my Aunt and my Uncle were residents at Steeton Court Nursing Home for several years. In that time they were both extremely happy and satisfied at the service they received, and always felt they were well looked after and cared for. The staff were pleasant, respectful and always went above and beyond
to make sure my Aunt and Uncle had everything they needed.
I have no hesitation in recommending Steeton Court Nursing Home, and am glad my Aunt and Uncle spent their final years here.
Reply from Caroline Cowland, Home Manager at Steeton Court Nursing HomeThank you so much for this kind review. We remember your Aunt and Uncle fondly. It was a pleasure to care for them here in their final years. The staff will be very grateful to receive such lovely feedback.

My mother moved into the Craven Nursing Home in October 2025 for end of life care. Sadly, she passed away at the beginning of January 2026.
We were faced with task of finding a suitable care home for Mum and wanted to ensure the best care for her needs, in which she would be treated with respect and
dignity. When we visited The Craven, we immediately felt that it was ideal for Mum. It had a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and bright, spacious rooms. We were made to feel very welcome.
When Mum moved in, we knew that we had made the right choice . We were hugely impressed with the level of care offered, which was tailored very much to Mum's needs, the professionalism, skill, understanding and compassion of all the staff and the strong sense of community at the home.
We would like to thank everyone at The Craven for their care they provided to Mum but also to us, as family members, at a very difficult time.
Reply from Stephanie Bowers, Manager at Craven Nursing HomeThank you for such a lovely review. It was our pleasure to care for your Mum in her final months and also you all, as her family.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ghyll Royd care home.
Having visited a number of local care homes, I instantly knew that the Willow unit at Ghyll Royd was the best place for my parent's needs. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the facilities are very good- with a gorgeous conservatory and
garden area. Most importantly, all the staff have that perfect mixture of being caring, skilled and professional.
Reply from Peter Chadwick, Marketing Manager at Ghyll Royd Care HomeThank you so much for your kind recommendation. Choosing the right care for a parent is such a significant decision, so it means the world to us that you felt that instant connection with our Willow unit. It is lovely to know your loved one feels so settled at Ghyll Royd, from the peaceful garden to the support of our dedicated team. We are truly grateful for your trust in us and will ensure your kind words are shared with everyone.

My father was in Carven Nursing Home for over 2 years and in all that time he was treated with care, kindness and dignity. He enjoyed his trips in the mini bus and also the entertainment - especially a good sing-along!
All the staff were supportive, helpful and empathetic to us, especially when was
nearing the end of his life.
Thank you.

My mum has been here since November 2025. I couldn't aks for a nicer place! She has dementia & all the staff are absolutely lovely! Nothing is ever too much for them. They allow me to use their own hair salon to do mum's hair & nails, (as I am a hairdresser). You couldn't ask for a nice place to be!
From the cleaners up to management, they're all amazing. My only wish is for Mum to be comfortable & have her last days/months/years in this place.

We could not be more grateful for the care, love, and attention my dad receives at Craven Nursing Home.
From the moment he arrived, it was obvious that every member of staff genuinely cares for the residents, it's not just a job for them, it's a true vocation.
The manager, Steph, is at the heart
of it all, ensuring not only the residents are happy, safe, and well cared for, but that all the staff feel supported, valued, and inspired to give their very best.
The home is spotless, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere warm, welcoming and full of life.
My dad was understandably nervous at first, moving into a nursing home is such a big step, but now he feels safe, loved, and truly at home. The difference it has made to him is remarkable: he is brighter, more positive, and rediscovering purpose and joy in daily life.
This is far more than a nursing home, it is a family where residents and their loved ones are treated with unwavering care, respect, and genuine warmth.
Reply from Stephanie Bowers, Manager at Craven Nursing HomeThank you for your kind words. It is our greatest pleasure to be able to care for your Dad and you all, as his family.

Where to start..
My Dad is extremely well cared for at the home and enjoys his many humorous interactions with the team there. It is so important to me to see that he is happy and that his sense of humour is still shining through.
I feel part of the family as I am always made to feel so welcome
and, as with the other visitors, I am encouraged to join in the activities which are great fun!
The door is always open for me to chat with anyone involved in Dads care and if I need any guidance the patience and expertise is second to none.
All of the staff are brilliant, kind and willing to help. Dad couldn't have better people around him.

Our aunt was cared for in Craven Nursing Home from May-October 2025. From the moment we came to look round, everyone in Craven Nursing Home welcomed us with a hello and a smile. You all came across as very caring and welcoming.
During the time our aunt was with you, various issues arose regarding her
needs. For each issue the nurses came up with possible solutions and staff were very patient with her. We were impressed by the systems you had for monitoring all aspects of her health and well-being.
We all noticed the positive impact the Craven had on our aunt - we saw such a difference in her when we visited. She was so much brighter than she had been for months, pleased to see us, interested in conversations, responsive and as happy as we could have hoped for in the circumstances.
We always felt well-informed about her care and were warmly welcomed every time we came to visit. Although sad at her death we were all glad that she had spent her last few months in Craven Nursing Home.

My mum stayed at Springbank for nine months after care at home was no longer enough. She received excellent care from day one. However, it was during mum's final few days that we were blown away by the level of compassion from all the staff. Not just the care they took of mum, making her as comfortable
as they could, but also the way they took care of us as we sat by her bedside.
I am so grateful to the staff for the way they took care of mum, along with the peace of mind which that brought me. On my visits from Scotland every few weeks, it meant I could just spend quality time with mum in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. It was nice getting to know the staff, too, and receiving a friendly welcome after a long drive down. Springbank came to feel like a home-from-home for me, and I shall always look back on mum's time there with fondness.

Steeton Court offered a welcoming and comforting experience for both my parents and for us as a family. All the staff, regardless of their job, were warm, friendly, polite and respectful. My father had more complex health care needs, which were always met and with nothing too much trouble. Individual,
personalised care was excellent, staff communicated and informed the family of any changes, which was reassuring. We had no worries about the standard of care; in particular end of life care was excellent. Physical and mental health care needs were met to reduce suffering. Open visiting, respect, dignity, attentiveness - this excellent nursing home has certainly helped in our grief - knowing our parents received the best possible care.

My mum came to reside at Craven Nursing Home in February 2025, following a stay in hospital and a shortened life expectancy diagnosis. Within a few weeks, she improved dramatically, gaining strength and confidence. She put on weight, joined in the huge variety of activities and enjoyed the pampering
sessions including weekly hair styling - all great for morale. All the staff are dedicated, highly trained, gentle and compassionate. Residents are treated as individuals, their likes and dislikes catered for and special occasions celebrated. Friends and family are made to feel very welcome when visiting. With the glorious weather this summer, my mum spent a lot of time outside in the beautiful gardens. I am so grateful she was able to spend the last 7 months surrounded by people who truly cared. I cannot fault them.
