My mum stayed at Springbank for nine months after care at home was no longer enough. She received excellent care from day one. However, it was during mum's final few days that we were blown away by the level of compassion from all the staff. Not just the care they took of mum, making her as comfortable
as they could, but also the way they took care of us as we sat by her bedside.

I am so grateful to the staff for the way they took care of mum, along with the peace of mind which that brought me. On my visits from Scotland every few weeks, it meant I could just spend quality time with mum in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. It was nice getting to know the staff, too, and receiving a friendly welcome after a long drive down. Springbank came to feel like a home-from-home for me, and I shall always look back on mum's time there with fondness.

My husband received end-of-life care at Ghyll Royd, and I cannot thank them enough for all the care, comfort, love, compassion and dignity extended to him by all the staff, especially the willow team. All the above was also extended to my daughters and myself as we spent precious time with Peter. Thank
you for being there when we needed you.

Steeton Court offered a welcoming and comforting experience for both my parents and for us as a family. All the staff, regardless of their job, were warm, friendly, polite and respectful. My father had more complex health care needs, which were always met and with nothing too much trouble. Individual,
personalised care was excellent, staff communicated and informed the family of any changes, which was reassuring. We had no worries about the standard of care; in particular end of life care was excellent. Physical and mental health care needs were met to reduce suffering. Open visiting, respect, dignity, attentiveness - this excellent nursing home has certainly helped in our grief - knowing our parents received the best possible care.

My mum came to reside at Craven Nursing Home in February 2025, following a stay in hospital and a shortened life expectancy diagnosis. Within a few weeks, she improved dramatically, gaining strength and confidence. She put on weight, joined in the huge variety of activities and enjoyed the pampering
sessions including weekly hair styling - all great for morale. All the staff are dedicated, highly trained, gentle and compassionate. Residents are treated as individuals, their likes and dislikes catered for and special occasions celebrated. Friends and family are made to feel very welcome when visiting. With the glorious weather this summer, my mum spent a lot of time outside in the beautiful gardens. I am so grateful she was able to spend the last 7 months surrounded by people who truly cared. I cannot fault them.

Mum has been a resident at Springbank for just over four years now. The care she has received throughout all her time at Springbank has never been anything less than outstanding. Her physical needs are well met- if she has a medical issue it is addressed immediately . Great thought and care has also
been put into respecting her dignity.
The staff are very accessible. If I have a query or concern about mum communications are responded to in a timely manner .
The home is spotlessly clean and has the air of an upmarket hotel. The furnishings are smart and comfortable. The gardens are well tended and provide a most beautiful outdoor space for the residents to relax in the summer months. At Christmas the seasonal decorations are stunning.
Residents' birthdays are observed by the baking of their own special birthday cake, and landmark birthdays can be shared with family and friends.
I am convinced that mum is receiving the best possible attention in a comfortable and caring setting.

Mum received excellent nursing care here after having a short spell in Leeds General Infirmary and then three weeks in a rehabilitation centre in Chapel Allerton following breaking her hip in a fall in May 2025. I cannot praise the staff and management highly enough for the way they looked after my
Mum during July and August of this year. Everyone treated Mum with real and honest kindness and consideration. I could not have found a better environment for her to live in, or a more dedicated team of people for her to spend her final weeks with on this earth. I live a long way away, but communication with Ghyll Royd was easy and never too much trouble. I was cared for too, as we had many difficult days and the support I received was second to none. Mum made the difficult decision to engineer her own demise as "she was ready to go" and whilst this was heartbreaking to accept, everyone treated her with respect and made her last days very comfortable. My heartfelt thanks to everyone.

We are so happy with all of mum's care, we are always kept up to date with any changes. We feel mum is in the best and trusted hands. The care home staff are always warm & welcoming and there if needed to ask about anything.
The care home is spotless as is mum's room. There's a lovely warm home-like
feel as soon as you walk in, with music playing softly, so welcoming.
Even though mum has lost interest in all of the wonderful activities & day trips and people who come in with animals etc it's wonderful for those residents able to enjoy this.
We always say mum would have chosen here, if she could have done. The perfect place for our wonderful mum to be - thank you to all at springbank x

In the short time my dad has been a resident at Springbank Care Home he has settled well into his new surroundings. Yesterday we said goodbye to my dad who had received just over a week of the most amazing, caring and respectful end of life care at Ghyll Royd. It is difficult to put into words the gratitude felt by myself, my sister and my mum to all the staff. From lovely Kay who brought the laundry, Giovanni who
always knew chocolate was the answer, Raoul who's gentle reassuring tap on my mum's shoulder let her know he was there if she needed anything, to Ian, whose words on our last night with dad left mum safe in the knowledge that she could rest and dad was in very safe hands. I said on many occasions, the staff at Ghyll Royd must tuck their angel wings into their neatly presented uniforms every morning because I don't see any other explanation of how caring and respectful they are. The first day mum went to visit, Nichola gave her a big hug, and that alone was enough to tell us that their focus was care. Care for the resident and care for the family. We cannot thank them enough.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my uncle received in the care of Craven. This is a care home managed by an exceptionally caring manager who has the care and best interests of the residents as her priority. The staff she employs have a high standard of duty of care and they are hard working
and dedicated. Cleanliness to a high standard, lovely home cooked meals and baking every day, nothing is too much trouble.
My uncle was extremely well looked after and cared about and that care was extended to the whole family. We were always made to feel welcome.
Residents are taken on trips around the local area which is beautiful and very well looked after and safe.
I would recommend most definitely Craven as a very homely, welcoming , comfortable, supportive, professional but also relaxed and calm place to live.

My husband was in Craven Nursing Home for almost 5 years. During that time, he and I were both treated with the utmost respect and compassion. All staff (not just the nurses and carers) take a interest in, and interact with the residents and the care is exemplary. The Activities team manage to come
up with a diverse and stimulating range of activities and are simply brilliant.
In the last few days of his life, my husband received the best palliative care and the whole team pulled together to ensure we were both cared for, which made a difficult and sad time more bearable.

My Dad was on end of life care at Ghyll Royd. The care he received was nothing short of excellent, but what truly stood out was the kindness, compassion and dignity with which it was given. Every member of staff treated Dad with such respect, gentleness and warmth and that made an enormous difference
to both him and our family. Despite the very difficult circumstances, there was always space for laughter and humour alongside the tender care. They didn't just see him as a patient, but as a person with a lifetime of stories, and they honoured that right up until the end. As a family, we were supported too. We were always kept informed, included and treated with empathy and understanding. Knowing that Dad was safe, comfortable and surrounded by people who genuinely cared about him gave us peace of mind at the hardest time of our lives. We will always remain deeply grateful - thank you.
