My husband has no short-term memory, so I cannot ask him for his views. The home has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From our first contact, the manager and her staff were friendly, positive and supportive. My family and I felt sure that my husband was being well looked after and was safe.

Extreme difficulty in visiting a friend and ex-colleague. I rang the home on 20th July 2021 when Covid restrictions were supposed to be eased. Told that I would have to make an appointment. Made an appointment for 2.15pm that date (at a convenient time for staff). Contacted my friend on his mobile to
let him know I was visiting him. Arrived at the home on time. Was told by staff that there was no record of the appointment I had made two hours earlier. Could only see my friend through an external double glazed window in the blazing sun (temperature in high 20s) a few yards from a busy road. I declined as I had visited my friend twice previously using that method. I could not hear a word he said and he could not hear a word I said. Total waste of time. No offer by staff to allow my friend into the garden outside in his electric wheelchair or any reasonable assistance to facilitate a (to him) welcome visit. I left him extremely disappointed after seeing him very briefly through the entrance.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We apologise that you were disappointed you were unable to visit your friend, as you believed that restrictions had been lifted.
Unfortunately, this is not the case. The current government guidance on visiting in care homes still remains the same for all visitors to care homes, except that the restriction on the number of visitors has been lifted.
We ask for 48hours notice in order to facilitate visits. All visits are booked in the first instance, by contacting ailsa@ingleboroughnursinghome.com.
Once again, we apologise for your experience and hope with the correct information, on the next occasion you visit, all will be well.

With Covid19 justifiable isolation was the only option. The telephone was the only means of communication until my friends last two weeks. At that time all my enquiries were dealt with compassionately by the staff.

My brother spent approximately 8 months at the Ingleborough and in that time he was treated with the utmost care and attention and compassion.

My mother went into the home around 7-years ago, following a long stay in the hospital. We liked the home as soon as we saw it and have never been disappointed. Mum, even though latterly, she had server dementia, was happy there, living in her own little world. I went to visit one day and found three
carers sat with her and all having a sing-song. To me, that sums up the caring attitude of the staff and management. Well done, Ingleborough.

Mum has now been at The Ingleborough for over 6 months, most of that time we have been unable to have 'proper' visits or trips due to the Covid-19 lockdown. The staff have kept her busy, entertained and, most importantly, safe. They set up Facetime so that we can have regular contact and chat. Mum
likes to chat and be part of the community, so it is good that she has new friends there (other residents and the staff), making her feel at home. We can certainly say that the decisions made relating to Covid-19 - time to 'close', visits etc, have all been spot on.
Mum's room is very homely, with a wonderful countryside view. It does not have a 'clinical' feel at all. Clean and comfortable.
A special mention goes to the staff who go 'above and beyond', being cheery and organising activities in what must be difficult circumstances and taking in to account residents' abilities. These include indoor bowls, board games, the garden and much more.
Thank you for looking after our Mum.

Thank you for your kind words. The current climate has posed challenges for us but we have tried to keep things as normal as possible for our residents. We thank all our relatives and friends for their support during this time and it is so nice to hear that we are getting it right.

My mother has been a resident of the Ingleborough for almost two years. We are all pleased with our choice. Mum is very well cared for - she looks much more healthy and well presented than prior to her admission to the home. The staff are all caring, cheerful and courteous to Mum and all the residents
actually. The staff are excellent. The rooms are pleasant, well furnished and very clean. Residents can bring their own things to help them feel at home. The food is very good - Mum was underweight and is now a good weight again.
The nursing staff are caring and proactive if there is a concern. Family are contacted if there is a health concern, information is shared appropriately. There are excellent and appropriate activities for the residents and even social events with families. Mum enjoys her games and regular physio sessions. The Ingleborough was a good choice for us.
