I highly recommend! my father has dementia but settled in immediately when we had to make the sad decision as we could no longer look after him ourselves safely. From the day I wandered in here adhock august bank holiday last year with no warning i was welcomed by the wonderful Mickey who gave me a tour, chatted and reassured me, her care and warmth was not at all what I expected within a care home! I Instantly knew this was the place for my father a home from home! Manager Helen secured him a space of which I am most grateful which is now permanent. It certainly was the best decision made. All of the staff nurses reception entertainers caterers housekeeper handyman all are incredible feel like family THANK YOU
Dear Helen
Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means so much to the whole team to read your kind words. To read that "you could not have wishes for better care" and that "it was the best decision made" means more to the whole team- more than you can imagine. Thank you so much- we really do appreciate the time you took and we will ensure your words are shared with the whole team
Both he and the family have been made to feel very welcome. Feels more like his own home. It we have any concerns, very few, they are dealt with immediately and with kindness and professionalism. As a family, we are happy in the knowledge that he is safe and well cared for.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind feedback about Southwoods Care Home.
We are delighted to hear that your father-in-law has settled in well and that both he and your family have felt welcomed and supported during what we appreciate can be a significant transition following...
I have an excellent rapport with the home's manager, deputy manager and lead nurse. Starting in the new year I would like to have a one on one meeting monthly with the home's management to review my wife's ongoing care. In an ideal world I would like to see more carers on duty per shift but I am well aware of the nationwide problems of recruitment and retention in the care sector. I must make a special mention of the home's activities coordinator who organises excellent in house entertainment for residents. Finally a heartfelt thanks to the dedicated carers who look after my wife 24/7. I know she is not always easy!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about your wife's care at Southwoods Care Home. Your kind words about our manager, deputy manager, lead nurse, and especially our activities coordinator and dedicated care team mean a great deal to us. They work incredibly hard to create...
Unfortunately my dad, Michael, passed away on 11th Nov. I wanted to just say that the staff could not have been any kinder or supportive during his time with them. They took excellent care of him. The hospital at home team also commented, when visiting dad that they were impressed with his care and lack of bedsores. (dad was bed bound in the end) I can't speak too highly of them. When going back to thank them it felt like coming home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share these kind words at such a difficult time for you and your family. We are truly sorry for your loss and send our heartfelt condolences.
It means a great deal to the whole team to know that Michael felt supported and well cared for during his time...
2) Staff response is variable some seem to care and empathy others not.
3) Clothes appear to disappear despite clear labels.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your recent experience and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.
We understand how important timely personal care is, and we are looking into the delay you described regarding the...

I have had the privilege of being closely involved with Southwoods Nursing Home and have always been impressed by the high standard of care provided to the residents. The entire teamfrom nurses and carers to management and housekeeping work with genuine compassion, professionalism, and dedication.
The atmosphere within the home is warm, friendly, and welcoming. Residents are treated with dignity and respect, and their individual needs are always prioritised. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels comfortable, supported, and valued.
The management team maintain excellent communication with families, ensuring transparency and trust. Activities are well-planned and meaningful, helping residents stay active and socially engaged. The home is always clean, well maintained, and has a lovely homely environment.
Southwoods truly embodies what high-quality nursing care should be-safe, caring, and person-centred. I would highly recommend Southwoods Nursing Home to anyone.
Yesterday I made a visit to my uncle at Southwoods and have to say that the standard of service/care from the whole team went way beyond my expectations. My parents and I were made to feel so welcome from the moment we pulled up, and they allowed us to visit and enjoy our time there too. This place is filled with beautiful, kind, devoted people who treat the residents like their own family, and we came away knowing that our loved one is in the best place to care for his needs. If you question where to put your loved one -then you don't have to have any reservations are Southwood!
Wow! Thank you so much for your lovely review, which has made us feel so happy to read. Your comment "devoted people who treat the residents like their own family" is exactly what our mission statement strives to achieve. I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team!
Such a welcoming and friendly place, Mum has had amazing care. The staff have all made good relationships with her and made her feel comfortable. All staff welcoming making an effort to get to know me and keeping me informed of things happening with mum. Nurses amazing through ups and downs of Mum's stay there, so many ambulances! Very supportive through EOL care. Mum sadly passed away there and I've since been in to thank the staff personally, as I felt they deserved more than a card/gift.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. It brings us great joy to know that we were able to support your mum and family during a very difficult period. We are so grateful for your kind words. It really means the world to the whole team who work so hard at the home. Thank you
And make no mistake, the carers act as hosts and make sure that the residents can treat Southwoods as a real home.
The care was wonderful and the carers made mum and dad comfortable until the end.

My mum has been in the home since January. Since been here she has come on leaps and bounds and made a few friends that she sits with in the lounge. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. She is very happy with the choice and standard of the food. In mum's words there's nothing to complain about.

Had my auntie in here for , unfortunately, a very short time due to her ongoing health situation. Southwoods were able to accommodate her at very short notice which was hugely helpful. The staff, in all roles, were always friendly, helpful and professional. Immensely grateful to the staff and administration of this home for their care and professionalism.
Thank you so much for your kind words which means so much to the whole team. We are so glad to hear that the team were friendly, helpful and professional and that we could provide your auntie a fantastic service and care. I will ensure your kind words are passed onto the whole team
My father was offered a place in Southwoods Nursing Home on short notice after his discharge from the hospital because the deputy manager and admin staff were incredibly helpful and worked to get him a room as soon as possible. The nurses and carers have been welcoming, compassionate, and friendly people who have always been a pleasure to talk to when visiting my father. They help to brighten this dark time for my family, with my father's dementia progressing rapidly. The staff listens to any concerns we may have and works to ensure my father is as comfortable as possible. They even managed to get my father to take part in activities such as arranging flowers which he wouldn't usually do.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means so much to us and the whole team that you have the nurses and carers welcoming, compassionate and friendly and helped "brighten" the dark times. It really means the world to everyone in the home and its so heart warming to hear.
Generally it is a good place to be, a friendly atmosphere, good food and nice staff.
The room is OK, but a little old fashioned.
Visiting very flexible, especially for those travelling.
Mum is very settled and comfortable here and has made a few new friends.
Thank you for your kind review and we are so glad to read your mum has settled and made new friends. Thank you for your feedback regarding the rooms- The home is going through continuous refurbishment and we are upgrading our bedrooms as well as communal spaces and our residents are more than welcome to personalise their room. I/we can't express enough the kindness I/we see when visiting. The home is changing and improving as the months go on. The staff are so happy, they greet us as friends, we're made to feel welcome and most of all we're given the comfort of good care. The home just seems to go from strength to strength and it's a pleasure to see. The activities ladies, all we can say is wow, they make every effort to bring as much joy to a person's life. Our dear friend has been in care settings for some time now and by far this is the most assured we have ever felt. Thank you to everyone, you do your home every justice.
